Movie Debate #101: A Christmas Story

I mean come on. Yea it was overplayed, but there's a reason. It's classic. If you can watch this movie on its own merit and say you don't like it, I'm not sure we'd have anything in common.

So I really enjoy this one but it's a bit overrated and overplayed. Of course like all of my favorite Christmas movies I rewatch it every year. I just don't think it's the most definitive holiday movie like many people would have you believe. But I still give it 8/10 since it is still an enjoyable watch all these years later.

I remember when TBS Superstation had a Christmas Story marathon in 2001/2002. It was a bit too much...but the movie is so darn awesome, I still like it. Some of my favorite lines are in this movie:

"What are we gonna do?!"

"I don't know, the bell rang!"

"Flick? Flick who?"

"Football? What's a Football?"

"He looks like a pink nightmare!"

"You'll shoot your eye out!"

Technically, this is a 9. It's a holiday classic full of iconic scenes and memorable quotes. But I burnt out on this movie a long time ago from overplay so that I never need to see it again.
