I love Bond so much! I'm actually named after Sean Connery. The story I'm told is that he was the only man my mom would have left my dad for, which is an odd thing to say in 1987 (circa The Untouchables) but whatever.

I own all the movies, novels (even beyond Fleming), and comics, and it is the only thing I've ever written fan-fiction of.

Sean Connery is the gold standard of portrayals, but I also love Timothy Dalton's more accurate to the novels approach. I think Dalton was under-appreciated then for what Craig was getting praise for in recent years. But then again, I understand how Dalton's darker portrayal is whiplash-inducing following Roger Moore. And while Roger Moore was in my least-favorite movies, he is one of the best people to play Bond, and I loved reading his memoirs.

Favorite movie is From Russia with Love, which is so steeped in espionage, and yet I rewatch The Living Daylights every year on my birthday because it is so good and because it was made in 1987.

@Deadeye you need to add a poll for favorite Bond theme song! My vote would be for The Living Daylights and A View to A Kill.

The earlier Bond's that focus more on covert/spy/espionage plot paths appeal to me way more.  I remember seeing one of the modern Bond posters with Daniel Craig and he was carrying a gun so large that he looked like Rambo in a suit.  I'm sorry, but that is NOT James Bond!

My favourite movie in principle is On Her Majesty's Secret Service because I like the story and characters and music and many of the scenes, but in practice, whenever I feel like watching a Bond movie, it's usually a 50/50 toss-up between The Man with the Golden Gun or something else, so I had to vote for that one.  I think I've seen it over 20 times now and it never gets old for me.

Nice topic!

Craig is good, but Connery defined the role. I picked Goldfinger. I'm also a fan of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, in spite of Lazenby's stiffness.

My least favorite is a toss up between the Moore era gimmicky films and the extreme action Brosnan films. They both kind of got too goofy at times. I mean, Jesus Christ, one of the Moore films has a pigeon do a double take.

Also, the 1967 Casino Royale is a gas as an utter trainwreck that keeps on wrecking. It's actually pretty impressive how out of control that thing got.

I'm also so excited to see No Time to Die. Spectre wasn't my favorite, I think they forgot the rule of "show, don't tell" and didn't put in the work to build up Spectre and Blofeld. They should have finished what they started with Quantum and built up what Spectre was in relation to them rather than dropping such icons in the minute they acquired the rights.

Billie Eilish is such a cool choice for singing this time around, her style isn't generally Bond-esque, but there's something about her voice that made me think of what we could have gotten from Amy Winehouse, and I knew when they first announced she would be the next singer that she would be great, and I love her song.

I could do that.  I would probably pair it as favorite theme song / intro video.

I can't do that.  There is a three question limit on polls.  Limit of 20 choices per question as well (that is why I had to split the movies into two questions).  I would have to make another thread for songs.  Not a big deal to do though.

Does Moore align with your favorite Bond movies as well, or just him as the character?

He does align well. Dalton might be my 2nd favorite for different reasons, aligning with what @Scrobins said. I like both but Moore edges out on top for me.

Connery is my favorite Bond by far, but the best Bond movie is the newer Casino Royals.

Craig in Casino Royal really kicked started the series again, much in the same way that GoldeneEye did prior.  Connery is my favorite as well, with Dr. No being my favorite film.  It doesn't have the most action or the best villain, but there is something I enjoy in Dr. No, that I go back often to watch it.  Even though it is not Bond's origin story, I do enjoy first films when generally looking at film series or trilogies.

But Craig is blonde and ugly there's finesse with that man

Unfortunately, all the polls require an answer to summit any one of them. This means I can't choose a single movie because you must choose something from each poll to advance. @Gloves, any way to make individual polls within a group optional?

I'm sure I'd enjoy many of the earlier films, but they're so far down the watch list, that I doubt I'll ever see them. I have zero nostalgia for the pre-90s Bond movies, but I do remain partial to Brosnan's portrayal of the super spy in Goldeneye. That being said, I'll give the title to Craig and Casino Royale for reinvigorating the franchise.
