Grand Jury Votes to Indict Donald Trump in New York: Live Updates

Mr. Trump will be the first former president to face criminal charges. The precise charges are not yet known, but the case is focused on a hush-money payment to a porn star during his 2016 campaign.

Those assholes are definitely going to do some terroristy shit in the next few days.

Let em. Nothing says “elect me” like your rabid supporters attacking a state capital. Hold on did that happen already? Ask those 1000 people sitting in federal jail from Jan 6th if they will stand up for Trump again. I mean, he took real good care of those guys by fundraising off them then not giving them any money.

Best part is:

Alvin Bragg->Stormy Daniels

+
Fani Willis-> felonies for trying to overturn election in Georgia

+
Jack Smith-> Stolen Classified docs

+

Jack Smith->Trying a coup (Jan 6th)

+
 Leticia James-> Trump Org (civil) constant fraud

+
Crackpot unprofessional lawyers

Feels like a strong democracy

Not even remotely true, but its your opinion. I say Prove it, if you want to discuss further.

Racism= exclusion

affirmative action= inclusion

Loreen, an asian female has a 3.8 GPA.

Daniel, a white male has a 3.6 GPA.

Max, a hispanic male has a 3.4 GPA.

Andrew, a black female has a 3.2 GPA.

There is only room for one more student in this college. Loreen, Daniel, and Max are disqualified solely off the color of their skin and not of the content of their character, when Loreen is most qualified.

...or to put it in another way.

Joe Biden recently nominated, and made Ketanji Brown Jackson a supreme court justice. He went on record saying "The person I will nominate will be someone with extraordinary qualifications, character, experience, and integrity, and that person will be the first black woman ever nominated to the United States Supreme Court"

Meaning, even if someone is even more extraordinarily qualified, with better character, more experience, and more integrity, but happened to be ANYTHING ELSE than black, then they would not have been considered by the President of the United States to be nominated as a Supreme Court Justice, solely because they were not black.

Affirmative Action, is inherently racist because it requires you to look at WHAT a person is, before you even begin to consider WHO that person is.

You kinda proved my point.

Since we are talking about law/court, if the systemic racism didnt exist (level playing field) Then why dont racial minorities make up an exact percapita average of law makers and public office based on sheer population? Asians, blacks etc.  its overwhelmingly white. Huge swaths of texas have a large of amounts of south east asian heritage american citizens, but almost none hold public office.

Because if WHAT they appear to be is automatically not given the same chance, WHO you are doesnt matter.

I do see your side however. Assuming a fair playing field, meritocracy would be the best way.

But if its not even from the start, then thats a different story.

You bring intelligent arguments, and I never saw you in that manner (for the record)

Oh, well it's self proclaimed then! Hah.

We might be aligned then. I guess im a social liberal/ financial conservative with a libertarian streak when it comes to healthcare or 2nd amendment. But todays republican party is no-where near what I would like so Im an independent whose normally votes progressive I guess. All nonsense 😂😂😂

Yeah, the party is definitely not some I associate with anymore. I refuse to call myself Conservative, GOP, or even Libertarian.

Like the good guys are literally rising up to put away the real criminals lol

Its not pedo shit, but Ill take his  embarrassing sex with a pornstar anyday over that

Wasn't it was tax fraud that did in Al Capone?

Either way though, I don't expect the charges to stick. The mans nickname is literally Teflon Don.

Yes- Thats a great analog, as the comparison to a mob boss is appropriate. He was making 900 mill a year and paying no taxes-

I get that he is”Teflon”, BUT…….

Do multiple state attorney generals (and DoJ special council) bring grand juries and multi year cases via state courts and federal district judges on “baseless witch hunts”? I guess I don’t know- seems unlikely that the pure amount of bureaucracy involved would be based on politics.

BTW, I forgot another civil case, the E. Jean Carol rape/ defamation case.

Still crazy to me the people look at that dude and are like “yeah he has good ideas (nuke mexico?) I want him to be the most politically powerful guy on earth” 😂😂😂

George Santos claims without evidence that Democrats are 'trying to ban toilet paper'

“Republicans are working to put Americans First and lower the cost of living,” the freshman member of Congress wrote. “Democrats are busy trying to ban toilet paper and gas stoves.”

One possibility is that he may have fallen for an April Fools’ Day joke. On April 1, New York City Councilman Erik Bottcher, a Democrat from Manhattan, put out a fake press release saying he would introduce legislation to ban single-use paper products including toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, paper napkins and cardboard boxes.

“He fell for it big time,” Bottcher told Yahoo News on Monday of Santos’s claim...“I thought long and hard about the best April Fools’ joke to do, and I picked something that I thought was so outlandish that no reasonable person would actually believe it,” he said.

Bottcher is correct about that 🙃

Also RE: San Francisco being a violent shithole, turns out it was the guys buddy and had nothing to do with how terrible SF is lol. But the outrage is already over, so im sure no one cares.

For what it's worth when I mentioned "thankfully" that I don't live in the area I was mostly referring to the high cost of living. I've been to SF/San Jose for work a few times and had nothing but good experiences.

I’ve only been once but I really enjoyed San Francisco when I visited several years ago.  I would definitely go again and never felt unsafe - or no more unsafe than any other large city.  Not sure where it gained a bad rep but I definitely want to visit again.
