fcgamer | 4,723
Got some good stuff in the mail today, this'll likely be my one big gaming purchase for the month. Posting the bulk of the items tomorrow or later, this is just a teaser of what I got. First up is Mario and Peach paper dolls. I'd be up for trying to make copies and then selling them here, if folks are interested. Next up is some bootleg Famicom disks. In the picture of the two disks together, the left (white ) disk seems to be a porno game. The right disk has a plastic piece made by Hacker international, which allows you to run quick disks and other generic disks on the FDS. Speaking of Hacker, then there's a disk with Hacker labels on it. That's all for now, I'll post the expensive stuff later on. Goodnight everyone!
MegaMan52 | 2,445
Ah yes, Hacker International. I found out about that company on Itsr's NES Archive in the early/mid 2000's.

Yeah those were easily one of my favourite things in my recent finds. I had missed out on a set a few years earlier, turned out my friend had these and he kindly just gave them to me.
fcgamer | 4,723
Still got some other goodies from that parcel I got in the mail earlier this week, but I'm not going to post pics of that stuff until I can hook it up and use it, to demonstrate it. Was talking with my brother last night, he gathered up all the parcels of mine from around the house back in the States, and opened them for me. It was like Christmas, and he had fun too, here's what I have waiting for me if I can ever make it home. Let's start out with the Japanese Mario stamps, since they were kindly given to me by forum member @captmorgandrinker . I had wanted to get these after they had been first released, but I had a lot going on in my life at that point in time. I even ordered some but the order was cancelled, for some reason I wasn't able to pay the guy, I think his auctions said he combined shipping but he was unable to properly adjust it for Taiwan, so we agreed to cancel. In VGS times, these stamps came up in a thread and I had made a comment about them, next thing I know Dave was offering to send me some for free! Really kind of him, thanks again Game King games, CIB: Happy Ball and Super Motor. I already have these, as loose carts, bit had the chance to get CIB versions, yes please! Unfortunately the seller has Feichuang VII, boxed, yet it didn't show up in my search until after it sold, and that's one of two GK games I'm missing for a full set. 4
fcgamer | 4,723
Let's continue on with some other goodies, shall we? Up next is Star Keeper I'm really looking forward to giving this a try. Then we have Space Raft and the record, I think this was the second Kickstarter I backed, ever, after Project Blue (Famicom), which I'm still waiting for. The game looks fun, but the whole music thing just made it irresistible to me. Finally, also grabbed another homebrew on Famicom format, Majonian Tales, or something like that.
MiamiSlice | 3,095
Those Super Mario stamps have been on my watchlist for a while, some of the ones I have seen listed also come with a promo flyer. I was planning to buy that right before COVID suspended all the mail out of Japan, and even now with mail being resumed, they are not too cheap to ship.
fcgamer | 4,723
Even though I had received that big parcel ten days ago, it still feels like I haven't got much this month. Grabbed some stuff today: First up is a boxed LCD game, Palm Game Electronic. It has five swappable games / screens, including a Mario one! Unfortunately I can't get this to work, despite it looking in nice condition. Maybe all of my batteries are just jacked, or perhaps it's just simply dead. Then there are the Game Gear games, Super Monaco GP and a 6 in 1 multicart. This puts me at 40 something licensed Japanese Game Gear games, going for a full set. Would prefer if this were boxed, but for GG it's all a "grab and upgrade" strategy. Taiwan Mahjong, unlicensed PlayStation game? Yes please! I already have this one, found it hiding with some PC games. Now I have two copies Taiwanense porno mahjong game for PC, yeah!!! Another PC game, this one a fantasy jigsaw puzzle game. Loved the art with the lady and the horse so I bought it. Some miscellaneous magazines and guides, nothing too interesting here. Then mailcall, traded a few games with a friend for some edutainment Famicom cartridges. Many of these have Thai / English programs, as these were for the Thailand market. One of these even seems as though it can interact with a printer! Finally, some moon cakes, a pineapple cake. Got these from some students at work, due to the Moon Festival holiday. Also grabbed a book on Taiwanense language at the bookstore. This one should be much better than the last attempt I made to get a book to study Taiwanense language.
fcgamer | 4,723
Decided to mix things up and stopped by a junk shop on the way home from work, it's near my work but about ten minutes out of the way. I found a few vintage bootleg Pokemon cups for brushes / pencils, I love vintage bootleg Pokemon stuff. I then checked out the movies, I hit the jackpot there, turns out someone had traded in their collection, it was mostly Asian horror films from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, etc. Grabbed just over 40 different pieces for about $8 total, I'm gonna have fun watching these. Tanooki | 4,933
Love that pocket monsters cup, that would just be awesome to keep like as a pencil(etc) cup on a desk or something. Bootleg or not, nice art, and build it yourself - bonus.

The art is why I like the old bootleg Pokemon stuff, I guess as I've only played the OG, the others are irrelevant to me haha

Yellow was the only one I ever finished, but I've attempted others to various depths before getting tired of the poorly done leveling system primarily. Then second to that, the wash rinse repeat stories outside of select games (Sun/Moon, Colosseum, XD.) That and let's be fair, they're up to around 1000, yet still the original 150-250 of them (gen1+2) are largely the most creative.
fcgamer | 4,723
Mail call: Been looking for this one for about ten years, never saw it. The only way I got this one is that a collector friend is getting out.
fcgamer | 4,723
Got a lot of good stuff yesterday and today, sorting through it now and taking pictures. Xbox360 games, and a Xbox live thing. I never even played an Xbox 360, though these games somehow keep sneaking into my collection when K see them. Somewhere I heard rumours of a crazy guy documenting and compiling a list of the Asian versions of these games, oh wait, yeah, that's true. 1
fcgamer | 4,723
Next up is porno computer games. There's some lovely manuals with these too. No worries, in due time I'll try to scan them. As a gaming historian, gotta prioritise to preserve the important gaming stuff first.
fcgamer | 4,723
Grabbed a few more PC originals as well, budget shovelware. The one on the right is some edutainment, I was at a shop and they had a ton of CD-ROMs, but I couldn't justify the price, lol, so I let them sit. Then we have Monster Pitfall, a Gamate game. With the addition of this one I am only missing about 33 game cards, ugh. Game Boy bootlegs. Shanghai is the USA version, which I'll keep, also the multicart on the right I'm likely missing. The middle multicart with the Pokemon games I might already have, if so, it'll later be up for grabs.
fcgamer | 4,723
Found another laserdisc subtitle machine. When U bought it, the shopkeeper asked if I even knew what it was for, haha. I first became interested bin these as they used cartridges about the same size as Atari or Sega Mark games. Then there's that Toad racer, and a ... Pac-Man lotto card. The woman passed me a coin to scratch it off, after purchase, I was like "Nah, I'm keeping it".
fcgamer | 4,723
And yet more stuff. Some Sega carts. These are all bootlegs. About "Maga 4 in 1" - it's easy to chalk it up as Engrish or sloppiness, but we need to put it into proper context. Taiwanense struggle to hear the difference between short a / e, and some have similar problems with short e / i, the latter is also a pronunciation situation in some parts of the States. So yes, it's definitely an Engrish mistake, but there's the fun fact about how / why it occurred. PGA tour golf is officially from ea, they did all their manufacturing in Taiwan and adverts confirm that they also released their games here, hence the sealed football game I have for sale. It's funny, I was at a junk shop yesterday and I ran into a guy I know, a friend of a good friend of mine. I'd put him at level two tier, we are just acquaintances, yet I trust him and we have a good chat now and again when we see each other. Anyways, I exchanged contact information with him, and he said he had quite a few game cartridges for sale. This guy is a former magician, his hobby is collecting / reselling old toys, though the old games is just selling for him, he's an older guy not interested in playing them. Met up today, had to flake out on church for the meet-up, bought 14 carts from him, including the three Segas. Very fair prices, and I'm excited that I think I'll start to become his go to guy when he finds new games
fcgamer | 4,723
Break time before the juiciest bits. One of the junk shops had this bass guitar up for grabs, at about $50. I've wanted to get a bass and fool around with it for awhile, and at that price, honestly I couldn't pass it up.
