Master thread with standings

Ratings key:
10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.
9 - Killer fucking band.  Or artist.
8 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.
7 - Very good, but not quite great.
6 - Pretty good.  More than a few songs you like.  You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area.  Or still alive.
5 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.
4 - Meh.  There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.
3 - Not very good.  You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.
2 - Not your cup of tea at all.  Some people like this, but you are not one of them.
1 - Horrible in every way.
0 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time.  You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

Love this band! I love the punk/new wave stuff in this time. The late 70s were great. 1978 was a good year in music.

A few favorites to check out from their albums:

Blondie: X Offender, In the Sun, Rifle Range

Parallel Lines: (whole thing!) Hanging on the Telephone, Pretty Baby

Eat to the Beat: Union City Blues, Slow Motion

AutoAmerican: Angels on the Balcony

Aw yeah got that OG Private Stock mix 🤘

It was their first single. Check it out as a bonus track on Spotify. They actually lost the master tape for that recording so the audio was sourced from one of the 45s.

I'm surprised I didn't wear out our album of Parallel Lines growing up.

Fun fact- I used to have a platinum album of Autoamerican (Sal somebody's?)   I wanted to get a platinum Parallel Lines but gave up on finding it after a year or so.   Sold mine, then a few weeks later Parallel Lines showed up on ebay, with the same Sal recipient!

EDIT:  Found the Sal somebody!    Sal Licata  https://apnews.com/a8fe18232a5a97675af34a03b01e4f75
