fcgamer | 4,738
Recently I've been brewing and drinking a lot of tea as a healthier alternative to drinking beer. What started out as a challenge to go a few weeks alcohol free (I primarily just drink beer, or occasionally wine, so basically just beer free) turned into a time of clarity and ambition, which ultimately led to countless tea highs and a ton of tea brewing. With so much good tea around and with such a tea culture where I live, I should at least try to become an armchair expert about brewing the damn drink, right? Anyways it got me thinking about games based around drinks. There were several for Atari / arcade games, such as Tapper, Pepsi Invaders (? was that the name), etc. But how about games involving tea? I'm sure there must be some classic games that feature tea, even if they aren't based around tea. Modern smartphone games aren't what I'm looking for, and while I might make an exception for PC games, I'm most curious about console games.

cj_robot | 545
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas features a character, Madd Dogg, who is voiced by professional musician/actor Ice-T. I'm pretty sure this is exactly what you're looking for. Edited June 6, 2023 by cj_robot 1

spacepup | 2,406 Administrator ·
There is a game on steam called AmpuTea: https://store.steampowered.com/app/289090/AmpuTea/ "The surgeon-simulator inspired Tea-making game is now available on Steam! Using the latest KS-001 Robo-Arm, you must practise making various types of tea." There are some other similar tea-focused games on steam, usually smaller indie ones. I'm trying to think back to any more popular game or console game featuring tea, but I can't really think of much. I'm sure I have seen it in passing references or in games, but not as a major focal point. This articles goes over some sorta relevant examples:https://www.thegamer.com/games-for-tea-lovers/#tea-garden-simulator Speaks highly of Tea Garden Simulator:https://store.steampowered.com/app/1401340/Tea_Garden_Simulator/ Oh, and found this one on Nintendo Digital:https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/teacup-switch/ Main character apparently loves drinking tea. I don't think the game is all about tea-making though.
MegaMan52 | 2,452
Not all about Tea obviously, but it's mentioned. For some reason, this line wasn't used in the Japanese version for Game Boy Color. Edited June 6, 2023 by MegaMan52
rdrunner | 422
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box has a whole series of puzzles where you make cups of tea with specific ingredients for various people. Like with most Layton minigames, you can't really work on them until you collect all the pieces of your tea-making kit. Also FWIW in Henry Hatsworth, the screen says "TEA TIME" whenever you use your special power suit.
Tanooki | 4,943
Marchen Adventure Cotton 100% - Super Famicom Cotton are heroine is after the coveted candy willow, and it's played out over a magical shooter adventure with the cute witch riding her broom. When you clear a boss on a stage, and this is where this applies, you get a bonus round, and it's... TEA TIME! (Video picks up at that point end of stage 1.) This has been something of a staple for the franchise arcade, Nintendo, etc.
Floating Platforms | 734
Fire Emblem: Three Houses has tea parties you can use to build relationships with everyone. That was weirdly one of the main selling points that got my wife interested in the game.
Aguy | 773
Coffee Talk 1 and 2 are visual novels where you are a barista and has interactive parts where you make coffee/tea drinks for patrons. I played the first one a couple weeks ago on Xbox game pass. It took about 5 hours and was enjoyable.
