  1. I blew through Yoshi’s Story.. which I’ll do a review of tomorrow and I am 64 Jiggy’s into Banjo Kazooie. I’ve played the game a handful of times but never got 100% so I’ll sure I will have that done over the weekend. Oracle of Ages is better than expected so far
  2. I foolishly didn’t put Tears of the Kingdom on my list but that’s taken up most of my free time for a while now. I did finally upgrade my Switch online membership and started Oracle of Ages today which I’m enjoying so far. I’ve also put in some work on Super Mario Land 2, just needing to beat the last level. I plan to pick up (and finish) Yoshi’s Story this week.
  3. 10/10. One of my favorite video games ever. I’ve done 100% several times and I can’t wait to again!
  4. Possibly one of the easiest titles left but I’ll start Rainbow Islands tonight and have it done by tomorrow
  5. I’ve put in a successful run of Aladdin (still can’t beat that jump at the end of “The Escape”) so I’m just going to do a full run and skip that part and call it complete with an asterisk. I’ve started Earthbound, slowly. I’ve never played a turn based RPG besides Pokémon and there’s a learning curve.
  6. If I’m lucky I’ll finish Aladdin this weekend
  7. GOAT for the nes for sure. The first video game I’d ever beaten. I still play through once or twice a year on All Stars. A save function would have been nice but I played it for many years and never thought twice about it.
  8. I’m still a Mikey guy myself so I can’t help
  9. Good on both of you. The first couple trailers got me excited but this last one really got to me, I can’t wait. Already told my wife I wouldn’t be worth a damn the day it comes out.
  10. 8/10 I grew up playing the first so my nostalgia tends to lean towards that one. I had completed 2 & 3 for the first time in the last year or so and I think my personal order would be 3, 1, 2. 2 has great music but I feel like Diddy had no purpose. The other two games each character feels different (for better or worse) and like they had their own things, this game they felt more or less the same. The music was killer though, Stickerbush Symphony is a top tier song for me. As someone had mentioned earlier the game isn’t super visually appealing overall too. Despite my complaints, it’s still a very good game but I think the other two did it better.
  11. Aladdin is coming along. I’ve been able to consistently get to the end of “The Escape” for many years now but that last little jump across the lava always kills me. To make it more frustrating, I’ve used the level select code and been successful in beating all the other later levels.
  12. I’m super super close to beating Mario Land 2 so after we get back from our wedding trip I will likely knock that off. Also ordering a new N64 this week! As to what comes after that, I’m on the fence. Thinking one of the Oracles, otherwise Earthbound or Aladdin..
  13. Kingdom Hearts II, is done. What a game. The excessively long intro I did not hold super high hopes. I was not at all a fan of the command reactions and just didn’t engage with the game. Boy did that change quick. The ability to skip cutscenes, the improved combat and camera were huge strides in the right direction. The story was super well done and the inclusion of Mickey was amazing. For such a complex story they did an excellent job of doing it. The boss battles provided and adequate challenge and the challenge ramped nicely this time. The Gummi Ship was still a low point for me but I was glad to see it had some incentives this time around, which I still didn’t bother with. I enjoyed the stats at the end and I’ll certainly go back to find the other treasures and try and fill Jiminy’s journal. I also never returned to the Tron level. My only real complaint is that I didn’t really understand the importance of the drive forms until very late in the game when I was moving too slow to fight a boss and then realized that one of the drives was my issue? I never used the others but they were a neat bonus. The ending was absolutely perfect and everything I’d hoped for. I’m certainly a Kingdom Hearts fan and am adding 3, Birth by Sleep as well as Dream Drop Distance to my future backlog.
  14. always nice to add another Koei game to the shelf
  15. GameCube! I’ve got 2 in my eBay cart currently.
  16. Beat Pikmin! My write up is in the picture because I’d posted in the ‘22 thread first Im 99% of the way through Super Mario Land 2, so that will likely be next before I get back to KH II. If anyone is a Kingdom Hearts expert, I need some advice
