  1. I’d love to hear some suggestions for titles to play. I’ve realized I either really enjoy(Pokemon, Links Awakening) or really dislike (Super Mario Land/Oracles) Gameboy titles.
  2. Super Mario Wonder has been completed! While I had mixed expectations I was pleasantly surprised and how fresh this game felt. I wasn’t too stoked on the gimmicky feeling at the beginning but it grew on me. My only real complaint is that the difficulty was very low until the end and even then it wasn’t too tough. I’ve never come to expect too much challenge from a Mario game but some more would have been nice. All and all, I’ll come revisit it and finish the levels I didn’t do but for now it’s onto the next. Pikmin 3 is next on the docket and after a couple hours of play I’m already hopelessly addicted
  3. Hopefully you’re a Simpsons fan, otherwise @Murray will appreciate this reference
  4. I’ve played Odyssey a couple times and can’t get enough. It’s so good. 3D World was fun but I felt like it was missing something and just fell a little short for me personally. Galaxy and I had a weird relationship. I got motion sick the first time I played it so I never tried again, until it was remastered. The switch version is super good and controls very well still. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
  5. I couldn’t agree more. You pretty much laid out of my feelings on it. I’ve played almost all the console Mario games and anything past Galaxy has just felt very uninspired and this one felt like a huge gimmick to me.
  6. Started playing Super Mario Wonder last night and I’m pretty impressed. I knew I’d like it, as it is a Mario game but wow!
  7. I’m sick in the head so I’ll see this NES set through and I’ve toyed with the notion of a N64 set but outside of that, there’s nothing that I care enough about to fullest.
  8. Is Donkey Kong 64 a first play for you? It’s easily one of my top 5 favorite games and while it’s got flaws, it’s so charming
  9. I’ll look into it, I’ve of course heard of it but I don’t know much about it
  10. Made my modest list for the year and I’m excited. A lot of games I’ve had on here for years and some new titles from Pikmin and Kingdom Hearts which I fell I’m love with last year. Anyone have recommendations for a good Harry Potter game and a good beginner Final Fantasy game? I’ve never played much RPG’s but I’m starting to get into them so I’d love suggestions to ease into with!
  11. This upcoming spring my wife and I are going to be traveling out west and spending some time in Washington/Oregon. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things to do or even things we should pass on? We’re pretty open to any and all experiences. We like nature stuff a lot! also looking for recommendations for retro game shops
  12. Rolling Thunder is so fun but man it’s so tough even early on
  13. Wow December was a blur. I did some pruning from last years list. Some games I just didn’t care for and added quite a few more titles! NES Marble Madness Zelda II: Adventures of Link SNES Super Mario RPG Kirby’s Dreamland 3 Finished 2-27 Super Metroid Nintendo 64 Banjo Tooie Conker’s Bad Fur Day Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Gameboy/Advance/Color Pokémon Red/Blue 151 Super Mario Advance 2 Finished 2-22 Super Mario Advance 4 Finished 2-15 Playstation 2 Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories Gamecube Pikmin 2 Finished 2-12 Switch Pikmin 3 Finished 2-1 Super Mario Wonder Finished 1-20 I think this is a good start and a doable list. Can’t wait to try some titles I’ve been wanting to try for so long.
  14. I know I’m the minority with really enjoying Skyward Sword but man that got voted low
  15. I learned a lot about my gaming this year. Using this thread and having a slightly more concentrated backlog to focus on definitely helped me alleviate the feeling of having to play everything. While my full backlog is quite long it was nice to focus on a smaller piece. One thing I didn’t take into account this year was Zelda coming out, which took up a huge chunk of my time and then falling in love with Stardew Valley. I’ve never liked playing this style of game but wow this grabbed me. As I start to look forward to next year, my backlog will be a little smaller of a focus and I will be a little more methodical with what I play. Though I did knock some very long term titles off the list this year and found some new favorites!
