  1. It's really going to depend on if I am able to finally get me a better job this year. I really want to get into collecting CIB SNES games, as it's my favorite retro console, but that just depends on if things improve this year. If not and I'm still stuck at my sucky job, then it's just continuing with PS4 and PS3 collecting.
  2. It really depends on just how much of a hassle it will be to get to 100% and how much I like the game. Usually I will play through once and, if possible, go back to do any small extras that aren't a big pain to get. If I have to replay the game again, then I usually just move on to the next game.
  3. Well, technically Conover, but yeah. I worked there for close to five years on-and-off as an assistant manager, often times there more often than the manager was. By the way, the place in Newton you are thinking about is called The Spot. It's alright, but not really a destination to go if you are just looking for games.
  4. Here in NC, Video Game World has a second store located in Concord. In addition, here in Hickory there's a small store I use to work for called Infinity Gaming.
  5. Don't believe anything until it comes straight from Nintendo's mouth. I don't know how long there have been rumors of the Metroid Trilogy being ported to the Switch, how many announcements were supposed to be made and haven't actually proven true or how many times the next game from Rocksteady was going to be announced. I don't put stock into rumors, I only believe something once the company involved actually says something.

  7. Platinum in Oure for PS4

  8. It mostly depends on the type of media. If it is disc-based, then it has to be CIB, I won't buy loose discs or discs with replacement artwork, like from GameStop. Carts are different, I don't mind buying loose carts, as they still look fine on display, though having CIB would be nice to have eventually. Of course, there are exceptions, very small carts like on Switch or DS, I would only buy CIB back when I collected for those systems since you can't just put a DS cart on the shelf and it look fine.
  9. Playing Oure on PS4

  10. Finished The Outer Worlds on PS4

  11. I can't comment as a collector, but I worked for a retro re-seller store for several years and from my anecdotal experience I can definitely say that SM64 was much harder to come by than the system. For most of my time we had a steady flow of 64 consoles come through our store, but at no point did we ever have a large quantity of SM64 on hand. I don't know why, but many of the small collections lacked that game when they arrived at the store. I would definitely say that probably one of the Maddens better fits this category than SM64.
  12. I played it and I really enjoyed it, my only issue was how busy the backgrounds got and it made it difficult sometimes to keep track of projectiles fired from enemies.
  13. Cyberpunk 2077. After playing through The Witcher 3 for the first time this year, I am eager to see what CD Projekt Red does with the futuristic setting.
  14. While it's still an ongoing series, I would recommend NES Works by Jeremy Parish. Since he's going year by year, it's a little slower going in coming out, but he does a fantastic job with great in-depth analysis of the games and their history and provides great photos of the cart, box and manual cover. Well-worth owning in my opinion, you can buy them from Fangamer.
  15. Since Retronauts has already been said, I will recommend Watch Out For Fireballs. While they aren't strictly retro, they do plays games from all sorts of eras and each episode does a deep dive into one game, lasting usually around 2 maybe 3 hours with a few exceptions.

Eventually, but I got a little over half of the endings just playing on my own.

Did you happen to reference the guide on playstationtrophies.org? I wrote that guide. 😄

      Yeah, that one.

  18. The Pokemon typing game for the DS. As someone who isn't a good typer, it would have been really fun to have that to practice.
  19. Full Platinum in Shenmue for PS4

  20. For me it's Witcher 3, CD Projeckt completely raised the bar for Western RPGs with that game.
  21. Did you acquire what you were hunting for?
  22. To get back on the subject, was anyone able to attend the Pop Up event they held a few weeks back before Thanksgiving? Despite living in the same state, work requirements prevented me from doing so (though I certainly will try again next year), but I was able to connect with someone in a Facebook group who was attending and got a PAX variant of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon for PS4.
  23. Yep, I completely suck at shmups, so I don't really buy them, but man do I appreciate them from an aesthetic standpoint.
  24. Back when I was collecting for Switch (I 'switched' to PS4 in the middle of the year), I had preordered the first two of the Switch releases from them, Pankapu and Dungeon Rushers. As of right now, I've gotten no games, no messages from them, nothing. At this point, I've written it off as a lost cause. The general idea seems to be that they were trying to fund production through the sales, but the initial games just didn't sell that well and they ended up having to fold. Dunno how true that is, since no one seems able to contact them.
