  1. I really never felt like there was a console war back in the day. To me, it was all about the best looking and sounding games on a console. It seemed like each year I favored a new console I went from NES, SMS, rented Genesis like 5 times and SNES If I had to choose, I guess I favored the SNES games back in the day. I loved arcade games and the SNES was amazing for games like Street Fighter II, TMNT, Super Off-Road and Smash TV. Collection wise I still like the SNES. but I find the Sega Genesis more fun to collect for. Mostly because I like old arcade ports. But honestly, all those systems are fun
  2. Maybe not bad games. But there's a bunch of middle of the road NES games where Tim Follin did the music. I find myself enjoying the music the most on these titles. And another good quality with bad games, sort of a joke, is they're usually cheap. I find that some games are known as bad but are actually pretty good if the price is right. Games like Cobra Command, Athena, Karate Champ and 1942 on the NES all usually rate bad but I totally got my $5 worth of fun out of these games.
  3. If she likes Space Invaders you may want to try some more arcade classics like Mappy, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Popeye, Q-bert , defender 2, and Galaxian. Skip Joust and try balloon fight So fun
  4. eBay knows about all the counterfeit crap on there site and they don't care. I'm certain if you call and complain they'll tell you to enable the "authenticity guarantee" filter. Honestly! It's there take a look.
  5. No joke! It was a cheap hobby. I would compare buying a game to buying a Starbucks coffee. I'm nostalgic of 80's and 90's arcade games. Having a copy of old games that I used to own, rented or played on the arcades is relaxing. Even if it's a port. Fun to find electronics and fix them up and clean them. Always something to check out while on vacation. Discovery of games and consoles is fun. It's great to dive into a console's games after the dust has settled. With the Wii and GameCube I can remember starting a wanted games list after their popularity faded. A lot is those games well rated and like $5.
  6. Now that you mentioned it. I really should teach him that trick.
  7. Lately my son's Lego Mario started acting strange. It would show a phone/bluetooth symbol on the screen all the time. After looking on the internet, I found out that it's a pin issue. I was able to temporarily fix the issue by bending a couple of the pins. But sadly after about a month the issue came back. After trying to fix the issue a second time, it dawned on me that these pins look very similar to NES connector pins. I'm guessing that this product was designed by Lego, but what a odd coincidence. I feel like somebody is trolling me. LOL, anyway I just sent a support request to Lego.
  8. Last EA game I bought I stopped playing because there was just too much plot.
  9. I think this gimmick is great. I hoping for other new games that use it like; Frogger, Bomberman, Donkey Kong and Galaga. I wonder if the intellivision amico guys are noticing?
  10. It's totally worth getting just for the edutainment Mortal Kombat game. You can use Scorpion to stab alphabet letters and yell "get over here!". Word fatalities are awesome too. Sadly, Acclaim did the rushed port and they forgot Babalities.
  11. There isn't really a "right" approach to writing a game reviews. I enjoy different reviewers for different reasons. Some funny, others very informative like Jeremy Parish.
  12. Yeah, I thought it sucked too. But multiplayer couch co-op with non computer friends was fun.
  13. The arcade vibe of the Genesis is what really makes it great. Playing games like Golden Axe, Strider, Gauntlet IV, Road Blasters, Super Hang-on and Forgotten Worlds really brings the arcade experience home.
  14. The music is so good it always gets me ready to do battle. And it crushes me with difficultly not to long after starting. But I still think it's awesome.
  15. Played a lot on a emulator a long time ago. Have only played a real one a couple times. The thing that I found surprising with this console is the quality of the games are usually pretty good. For instance the Sega ports a lot of times are arguably better than Sega Genesis ports. I really like the TG16.
  16. Castlevania is Nintendo gold. I'm pretty sure I played it in the arcades first in a VS. cabinet. The music is catchy and memorable. After playing it I find myself humming these tunes. The gameplay is arcade like, easy to learn, hard to master, but fair. I think perfectly scales up in difficulty. The gaphics for it's time were great. It's a 9
  17. I have considered this and decided I'm going to print a ugly black and white print from my laser printer. That way I know what manuals and sleeves need to be replaced.
  18. I'm giving it a 6. EA really messed up. The price was just too high tough, I think it was like $699. If priced right, I bet the console would have had a chance. It was two years ahead of Sony and it was console to beat for games like Road Rash, Super Street Fighter and Samurai Shodown.
  19. Another vote for the NES. It's library is amazing. So many awesome 80s arcade ports. The N64 was the start of modern Nintendo so that's pretty nice.
  20. Wish you had 87-92, that's my block.
  21. I've been using the Google Chrome fakespot plugin lately. The plugin will show you grades on how honest the reviews are in Amazon. You can also just plug in a URL into their website too. It really helps when buying online and trying to weed through the BS. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fakespot-fake-amazon-revi/nakplnnackehceedgkgkokbgbmfghain?hl=en https://www.fakespot.com
  22. Just wanted to say great game toma. I've played about 4 levels and it's fun. I also own artic adventure and once I found out that you were involved in this new game I happily bought it. I hope the game gets the attention that it deserves. I haven't seen that much news about it.
  23. Quickly-pick-up and play is pretty much why I have a NES. A lot of the arcade conversions are great for 15 minutes of madness. Kid-Niki, Toki, Rollin Thunder, Bubble Bobble Even if the port is not perfect, it can be a fun time. For some reason I keep playing 1942. LOL
  24. Probably not, but if this next console generation is like last, I'll will be buying the slim PS5 in about 3 years.
  25. A long time ago I bought a bunch of NES commons from them. I must have done some free shipping deal. I got 16 games for $51(just search through Gmail). Fun stuff, like rad racer, Kung Fu, magmax and even life force and pro wrestling. I remember they were cheaper than eBay when a sale was happening. Sad to see them go.
