This rocks, I'm getting two of my N64 wants for less than they go for online and then on top of that, one is free. Plus with Psyvariar Delta for $19.99 NEW and a Sonic t-shirt on sale for $7.97 (hey, he's basically a Nintendo character now) I'm getting all this with free shipping.

When I was a kid I bought many games based on the cover alone. Fortunately I didn't get burned too much by this. Abadox, Space Shuttle Project, Super R-Type and Gradius 3 were some that roped me in. These days there are definitely some games I'm tempted to buy just to display because the covers look so good. Marble Madness for Game Boy Color is one that's been calling to me. I mean, I love the game too. But that cover is just art. I'm also a big fan of the King's Quest V cover for NES. Maybe others wouldn't agree. It's very simple. But to me it is just perfect.

I don't do music anymore but here's something I did years ago. Someone in the DS10 forum had shared some patches that imitated the sounds of the NES and I used those patches to make an NES-music inspired tune. Made on Nintendo DSi with Korg DS10+.

Did someone recommend Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer yet? Because it's a fantastic port of a fantastic roguelike from the SFC. I mean, if you like roguelikes, I think this is one of the best ones you can play. I also have to recommend Soul Bubbles. It was a Toys R Us exclusive and I don't see it mentioned much. It's not very difficult but the play scheme makes great use of the stylus.

I am really picky with plastic box games (all the disc based stuff, but also Sega Master System / Genesis games that came with plastic boxes) because these boxes are very easy to keep clean and it makes me angry to see them beat up, dirty, etc (and I have seen some ridiculous stuff - dog bites, food residue under the clear plastic sleeve, dead bugs, etc). This also brings up a big distinction for me - there's a big difference between a box being damaged vs being dirty. I have some boxes that are crushed, creased, etc. and I'm okay with it - at least I can see the art, read the text, appreciate the thing. What I can't do is stuff that is dirty. I don't want it in my house. I have to be able to clean it or I'm probably going to demand a refund. My biggest peeve, though, is water damage. I think this is because my original collection of NES games (about 6 games that I had CIB) from when I was 5 got ruined in a flood - soaked through with dirty ground water, beyond what I knew how to repair at the time. Ever since, if something has a sign of water damage, I just don't want it. I've even had a couple items that I bought online that I ended up returning because the seller didn't know or didn't disclose that the item had water damage and it was obvious. It's not just about the appearance - it's a sign of potential for mold, and you do not want to be introducing mold anywhere in your house, that stuff will spread and ruin your whole collection. Anyway, the picture you posted is probably beyond my tolerance for damaged goods though. I wouldn't throw them out, because I think every box is worth preserving, but I'd be looking to let go of those and replace them with boxes in better condition.

I totally get this analogy. But you are comparing a 2 or 3 hour movie to a game that probably takes at least 20 hours to complete. If a movie has a long scene of a guy eating breakfast, I can probably appreciate that in the context of whatever weird narrative it has. I can slog through some slow scenes in movies, if done right. If the same movie has 10 hours of the guy eating breakfast over and over, literally the same unfun experience repeated ad nausea... let's just say I can only take so much.

Continuing my previous thread on NA... A couple weeks ago I picked this up for $20 on FB Marketplace. Was wanting to score a Nintendogs DS Lite for a while and there it was! Plus, the bag is a licensed Nintendo DS bag which is a nice addition to my console bags collection (yes, I collect these too). The DS Lite didn't come with the slot cover but I already had a metallic pink DS Lite so I took the slot cover from that (it's identical) and sold that one with the loose games for more than $20 online! Will be posting a picture soon of my Nintendogs collection, I'm just waiting for one more item to arrive in the mail
