  1. I literally thought this was about how many pixels each version leaped. Lol
  2. Just watched 10 min of a youtube longplay, and I'm sold. I'll have to try this at some point
  3. I been out of the grading game for a couple years to be honest. The 2 graded games I have are VGA, and the 2 raw games I have I'm not sure what to do with. Definitely interested in seeing some solid feedback on the WATA experience, but I'm not sure I could stomach supporting a GC property.... the thought of my money somehow reaching Jeff's grubby hands doesn't sit well.
  4. It's good and worth a play, for sure. But I didn't get to really play Sonic games (for more than a turn or 2 at a time) until adulthood. So immediately having 3, Sonic and Knuckles, CD available kinda jaded me. Gave it a 7.
  5. About 6 or 7 years back I kept having vague flashbacks of some Scooby Doo episodes that my parents had recorded onto a home VHS tape. Man I tried looking through all kinds of box DVD sets for these episodes only to find out that they had never (to that point) been released on DVD. Luckily the internet always wins and I was able to find them streaming on some Hanna Barbara fan site. It was a great feeling of nostalgia and satisfaction to finally find what my brain only had bits and pieces of.
  6. Battle Beasts. I had no idea there were so many of those things, and I didn't realize people had been actively collecting them. lol http://www.virtualtoychest.com/battlebeasts/Battle_beasts_2_crop.jpg
  7. Oh I'm sure some solder reflow and connector cleaning could do wonders to make it more consistent. But quirks and all I've still put up a score of 32 million on it. That damn plunger kicker is probably the most annoying thing about the whole machine. Lol
  8. I'm really enjoying it, and learning all of its quirks. It'll randomly drop a ramp switch (yellow or green) and I don't really know what could be causing it. Sometimes it will happen right from start up, sometimes it'll happen mid game after a few plays. Cycling the power on/off seems to fix it for awhile. I've also noticed that the game likes to warm up a bit before being played. If I start it cold and immediately jump into a game, the DMD will scramble and eventually drop out. Again, cycle power and it's fine. I've got a new ramp for it and a full plastic kit to replace some broken bits. I'm not planning on tearing it down until I can secure all of the ramp decals. Currently they're out of stock at Macro, and I haven't seen anywhere else that carries them. A Data East JP would be sweet! I also really like their themes through the 90's. Hook, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Batman all hit me in the nostalgia.
  9. My first arcade cab is a CPS-2, 2 player. I still have the A-Board mounted in it, and have a few different B-Boards. Children of the Atom, Marvel vs Capcom, Xmen vs Street Fighter, and Darkstalkers 2. Currently I'm running a Pandora's Box DX in it because I wanted to mess around with adding PS1 games to it. Playing NFL Blitz and Gauntlet Legends has been fun. 2nd, I bought a twin set of Daytona USA racers. They're a blast. 3rd, I bought a Time Crisis 2 double. The 2-player screen is in-op, currently searching for a 27in standard def tube. 1-player side works perfectly though. 4th, I got my first pinball machine. Data East TMNT. It gets some hate from pinball enthusiasts because it's relatively simple with a limited number of shots, but I enjoy it. 5th, a 3-player Ivan Stewart's Off Road. Been wanting one of these things forever.
  10. Recently got my first pin, a Data East TMNT. I've thought about replacing all bulbs with LEDs, but I'm leery of running into issues just as you've described here. I'd REALLY like to at least replace the bulbs for the 4 target banks with LEDs that correspond to the appropriate turtle's color. I broke out the owners manual and started looking at the wiring schematics and was unpleasantly surprised to find that Data East screwed up their own manuals by including the schematics for "Checkpoint" instead of TMNT. Apparently Checkpoint machines were used to make early TMNT protos. Funny bit of history, but it doesn't help me with knowing the wiring on my machine...
  11. Yep, that did it. When did that happen? lol
  12. I keep getting a 403 error when trying to bring up the site on my phone. I know I was gone for awhile, but did the url change for mobile? or is there an app? lol
  13. 8/10 I love my consolized 2-slot. I'm a sucker for fighting games and shooters from that era. There's some fun puzzle games for the system too, if anyone has interest in those.
  14. I just want to reach through the screen and correct his hand positioning... lol
  15. Maaaannn. I completely spaced on this... Looks like you guys had a good time!
