  1. Their debut album was halfway interesting for its time, but I've never been a huge fan. I feel like they wanted to be somewhere between Gwar and Marilyn Manson, but failed to be as entertaining as either.
  2. Not sure if this belongs here or would be better elsewhere, but here goes... Animation cels from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
  3. Yup! I have an old DOS machine with a 3.5" floppy drive. No 5.25" drive though, so glad this came with both.
  4. Pretty happy to add this to my PC floppy collection.
  5. Just added some entries for Massachusetts and Rhode Island if anyone is interested in checking them out. I'll do some more research when I've got some time, as I'm sure I'm missing a few.
  6. Yeah, I definitely only take funds from my "mad money" budget (I also collect vinyl, but not nearly at the same pace). I just wasn't keeping track of the large percentage of those funds going to games alone. I was just curious as to what the average person buys in a year, but I suppose everyone's different so maybe it was a weird question to ask. I think I'm actually going to start focusing more on vinyl this year to balance my hobbies out a bit. Anyway, thanks for the reply!
  7. After listening to the latest Collector's Quest podcast, I decided to go back and track all the games I bought last year... 219 Shit...I thought it was far less...I think that's the most I've ever bought in a year. I mean, my shelves are full and happy, but my wallet is not. And I've already bought 12 games so far this year, which is almost one per day. I really feel like I need to slow down. So, I ask....am I alone, or am I just being hard on myself? What do your spending habits look like?
  8. Don't have it yet, but I'm going to Red Dragon con in London in March, and I plan to get my copy of Death Stranding signed by Mads Mikkelsen.
  9. I think the Jag had potential. It was a case of bad timing. It was released when the Genesis and SNES were still popular and the Playstation was on the horizon. If it had better third party support, I really think it could have been a contender. I believe the problem was that third parties wanted to continue to support the 16-bit consoles and get ready for the next wave (Saturn and PS), so they were spread too thin to give the Jag any serious level of support. It's too bad, but Atari was in a weird spot of being both maybe slightly ahead of their time and too late at the same time (if that makes sense).
  10. I think anything you can play on the NES counts, whether its official, unlicensed or homebrew. I look to the Atari 2600 for my answer, since it had more unofficial games than first party titles. I'd still consider them all Atari 2600 games. However, I do think it's important from a historical perspective to make distinctions between official, unlicensed, and homebrew. Of course, from this point of view, it makes complete set collecting nearly impossible.
  11. I'd like to get more Japanese games (Famicom and Saturn). I might spoil myself with a Neo Geo.
  12. I don't mind loose carts at all as long as they're in good shape. Discs have to be CIB though.
  13. Don't forget about E.T. Many of those copies are buried, but they exist.
  14. Forgot I had this. Please pardon my garbage photography skills.
  15. I've only ever seen this cab once in my life at an arcade in Rhode Island when I was a kid. Instead of having the regular six attack buttons, these two buttons reacted based on how hard you pressed them IIRC.
  16. Even though I don't listen to them often, I had to give them an 8. Their importance is too big to ignore, and for their time they were revolutionary. If they came out today, maybe not so much, but I don't think you'd have much of the brilliant rock music of the past 40 years without The Beatles.
  17. I worked at Funcoland briefly in the late 90s. It was fun to be around video games all day, and I definitely snagged some gems at a discount. My store manager and district manager were pricks, so I didn't stick around long. I remember buying a bunch of copies of Super Mario/Duck Hunt for 25 cents a piece and using the innards for an art project I was working on.
  18. The only one I'm missing is Stack-Up because a) I'm cheap b) I have the Famicom version CIB. I doubt I'll ever shell out the $$$$ for the US version.
