  1. I know this is the Heritage thread, but I’m watching this month’s Goldin Auction. Thought this was a completed listing at first, but it still has a week left. I’m measuring the strength of the sealed games market on this auction.
  2. I’m actually here to announce the launch of the brand new Gulag Joe Grading Academy. With GJGA training, we guarantee we will transform any regular Joe into the perfect video game grader with the keenest eye for detail. The training process will have each prospective trainee watch all of the amazing youtube conspiracy videos the self proclaimed pros have uploaded, a history course on each sealed game critic and how their old posts from 10 years ago are embarrassingly bad freezing cold takes, and an Opty process of opening sealed games to check and make sure all submitted sealed games are still playable. Website and application process coming soon.
  3. I would not be surprised if they eventually come out and say “on second thought…naaaa”
  4. It’s been almost 18 months since CGC announced they would start grading video games.
  5. Three Mario Kart 64 red labels in the same auction. That is sloppy auction placement on behalf of Heritage.
  6. Resident Evil was pretty bad. Now is not the time to be selling.
  7. It’s not arrogance, it’s confidence. @ me when you find some pallets. We can have a good laugh ten years from now.
  8. I was promised pallets of sm64 9.8 A++ games by all the video game media people and a few on here. Where are the pallets? I want my pallets, Nostradomi!
  9. Looking for replies from professional video game collectors only, please. Thank you.
  10. Even more unsurprising among professional video game collectors was that there was only one 9.8 A++ Super Mario 64 added to the list. That leaves a grand total of 3 in existence. Rare indeed.
  11. The population growth rate for NES Al Unser Jr’s Turbo Racing was very slow, just like many professional video game collectors anticipated. Rest assured, they won’t be finding any pallets of that title anytime soon because they don’t exist.
  12. Unplug your Nintendo and throw it in the trash if you can’t figure out Zelda without a map.
  13. Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth that’s used for cleaning glasses. I would advise against using any chemical agents as it will seep through the vent holes and leave marks on the case that will exacerbate the appearance of the vent holes by looking like tiny uneven circles underneath the seal.
  14. Public sector hiring is not slowing down. Transportation sector is facing a massive worker shortage crisis, especially the airline industry. Data analytics are in extremely high demand. People hiring grads fresh outta college starting at 85k because the competition to hire is fierce. There’s a lot of opportunity out there right now, and all of it is sure to make my sealed Perfect Dark command at least a strong $200 eventually.
  15. There are also many higher level jobs that are wide open. It’s so bad at the government level that nearly every state across the country has removed their 4 year degree requirements. The best time for upward mobility of the middle class is right now.
  16. Different times back then. This is the 2020s. All the boomers are retired/retiring. There are millions of open and unfilled jobs. Employers are desperately hiring at every level.
  17. Collectible video games will continue to gain value. Perhaps not at the rate we saw from 2020-2021, but they will continue to go up. The scarcity of near mint or better condition vintage games is real for both sealed and CIB.
  18. Speaking of Occam’s Razor, Karaku is reporting that some people are saying that Wata may have graded a fake Occam’s Razor. UPDATE: A Wata representative has responded to Gulag Joeraku: wE tAkE cLaImS aRoUnD oUr AuThEnTiCaTiOn StAnDaRdS sErIoUsLy AnD aRe LoOkInG iNtO tHiS mAtTeR aBoUt OnE gAmE tHaT wAs GrAdEd SeVeRaL yEaRs AgO. wE aRe CoNfIdEnT iN oUr CuRrEnT aUtHeNtIcAtIoN pRoCeSs AnD hAvE rEaChEd OuT tO tHe OwNeR oF tHe GaMe So ThAt We CaN rEcEiVe AnD rE-eVaLuAtE iT gIvEn NeWlY sUrFaCeD iNtErNeT hOrSeShIt.
  19. It does. Who is paying Kataku to constantly badmouth CU/Wata? Who stands to benefit the most? Lots of questions!
  20. All of this is hearsay until the accused publicly addresses the matter. Anybody can post anything they want on the internet. When you search “Wata” on Kotaku every single hit is disparaging to the company.
  21. I’m saying post a link to the CU/Wata press release that addresses this matter and I will gladly take the L on this.
  22. Kotaku is all fake news gossip too. All suppositions throughout that post. “Believed” and “we think”. The Wata response is as fake as the claims. Please tag me when you “apparently” find out the truth.
  23. Lolololololol ”I’ve never seen this Wata graded PC game, but it’s totally fake.” Behold, the power of the internet! I actually have a Wata graded internet. Beware of fake internets, tho!
