  1. Don’t tell me none of you have opened sealed games to find the contents inside the box having imperfections.
  2. For what it takes to achieve a 9.8 cib, I value those more than any sealed 9.8.
  3. Also, the one person who has the 9.8 CIB snes Zelda Link to the Past has to be a time traveler.
  4. I have a few CIBs graded. Everything has to be perfect to reach a 9 and I have frankensteined a few of them to get there. It’s just frustrating when you have a minty box and cart (9.4+) and then a manual that has a small fold or some wrinkles and it grades out way lower than what the eye can actually see. And in a perfect scenario I’d like for them to start acknowledging the 100% CIBs.
  5. New December 2022 Wata pop reports are out. Still only three 9.8 A++ Super Mario 64’s out there. Wonder what happened to all those pallets of perfect games that were supposed to come flooding in!
  6. I’m just noticing this. I suppose this is just the nature of auctions. But if B+ seals “devalue” a game like in this example, then give me all the B+ seals! Looking through the past sales of the game, they’re all over the place and don’t make any sense but again I suppose it’s all in who’s participating in that auction and how bad they want it.
  7. I made it a point over the years to collect games that are 100% complete, especially ps1 games. I’ve had cib Resident Evil Long Box, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid all graded by wata but they do not denote that the registration card is in tact. I find this a little frustrating. I think these cards should also come with a supplemental grade. Makes me wonder if they still grade the manuals the same on these games even if the reg cards were cut out of the manuals, because I’ve not seen it denoted in any case of graded cib, at least from what I’ve seen.
  8. The wata 9.4 A has been on the decline over at heritage. One sold for 12k October 2021 but has been dropping ever since.
  9. Disagree. Collectibles investments are simply not feasible in the current economic environment. This is why you see it across the board. Tom Brady rookie cards selling for a hundred thousand dollars less these days compared to 2020-2021 when everyone received free money and the interest rates were nothing.
  10. I’m thankful that some of us were able to sell at the perfect time.
  11. That Halo drop is wild. This is happening in sports card sales too, save for some of the most popular of cards. But Halo is a popular title, though I value the sealed not for resale version more than the retail release.
  12. I was just searching for a thread like this and here it is! I’m looking to send an order in but with a few more cib’s. I have not followed through with actually putting my order in as I saw a note that says I have to pay a $25 membership fee. Is there any way around that? Even still, wata’s cib pricing and turnaround times are way too high so it’s still more cost effective to use CGC for cib grading even with the fee.
  13. I think it was March 2021 when VGA announced a pop report “coming soon”.
  14. Pushing up on 2 years since VGA announced they were going to put out a population report. Time flies!
  15. I’m hoping the drop in cib will lead to cheaper cib grading.
  16. Anybody see the latest Heritage auction? January 2022: 9.4 A+ Tecmo Bowl -$144,000 Yesterday November 4: 9.8 A+ Tecmo Bowl- $78,000 o.u.c.h.
  17. PSA doesn’t grade reprints of cards. I think wata should move away from grading rom hacks and other reproduction games, it muddies the waters of authentication vs just grading something.
  18. I was considering listing through Goldin but after seeing that MK sale I won’t be. Heritage is still performing somewhat well but too many auction houses are in the market and few of them have good marketing practices.
  19. It’s interesting because someone listed one on eBay and then discounted the price
  20. I like how this YouTubers primary source of fraud is based on their complete misunderstanding of how markets work. I have a nice house, I don’t want to sell it. A person comes along and says wow, nice house, I’ll pay you 500k for that house. I reject that offer, but the realty firm who was working to broker that offer now knows about my house and how cool it is, and a realtor who works within that firm REALLY likes my house and offers me $1 million. According to this video, that is fraud. Lol
  21. I think if it can reach $10k, that would be a good sign for the market. A 9.6 A+ sold for $9k a while back. This is an A++ so I feel it should be valued between 10-15k. Anything less than that would be a steal for this title over the long term considering the rarity of the grade.
