  1. Wow I didn't know Heritage was donating the buyers premium on that sale. Very honorable of them. Great company.
  2. I've said this before, but the major sports games will eventually start commanding even higher prices across the board. The sports card hobby value centers around short prints /100 or less. When the pop report comes out for more platforms, these niche collectors will notice. Don't be surprised when you see once common sealed Madden games like 2004 with Michael Vick start commanding 4 figures or more.
  3. If they're in the 8 range then you should be ok on the regular grading prices
  4. If you have 2 first print Zeldas for NES you won't be paying $295 per game, you could be paying $2,000 or more per game depending on the condition of the games. High grade CIB might be costly.
  5. I'm not trying to out anyone on this thread. Just making a sarcastic point that when lots like this do show up, they tend to be met with skepticism rather than: sEe I tOlD yOu SeAlEd GaMeS aRe CoMmoN
  6. The retro gaming community and its media personalities want everyone to believe there are thousands of sealed games out there but it seems like an awful lot of people don't want to believe it when a few unknown copies show up for sale
  7. 100% fake news. As I said in my previous comment, I'm two weeks away from one year waiting on a premium order that advertised a stated turnaround time of 21 days.
  8. VGA turnaround time is absolutely terrible too and when I asked about it all they said was "oUr WeBsItE sAyS 6 pLuS mOnThS" even though it says 5. And that plus sign after the 5 means infinity, so they are just as bad as Wata but for some reason avoiding all the heat for it. I'll be celebrating my 1 year anniversary on my order with them in 2 more weeks.
  9. Wata didn't cause this. The pandemic did. People were looking for all types of places to invest money. Sealed video games just happened to be a niche category that hit bigger than anything else because these things are indeed much harder to come by than other collectibles. Every collectible category that exists saw some type of increase. Many saw massive gains like junk wax basketball cards. Pertaining to video games, Wata just happened to be at the right place at the right time. They were marketed as the pros because they are the pros.
  10. I've already taken the mantle on the "I'm only collecting so I can destroy the hobby for everyone" narrative and I love every minute of it. These slapdicks need to come up with better content, like more conspiracy videos. YouTube loves pushing those. I can actually draw a direct line that proves the person who plays speed run video games is hacking and none of it is actually real. Stay tuned for my video that "they don't want you to see".
  11. I was thinking it was based on how long it would take the slowest person you know to physically run your order to Colorado and have Wata grade the game.
  12. What would you consider to be the best "sealed game convention"? Meaning, a convention where you can go and shop sealed games, and not only that but also graded games, CIB, etc. In other words, what is "the super bowl of video game collecting conventions"? The only one I know of that might fall into this category would be TooManyGames, but wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this.
  13. I've seen Wata grade cracked jewel cases an 8, but it's always been one small subtle crack no longer than an inch or so. Haven't seen any graded higher than that or what they grade jewel cases with multiple cracks.
  14. Happy 1 year birthday to my Wata 45 business day Turbo order.
  15. Not sure if any of you have seen the new Matrix Resurrections movie. This may be seen as a spoiler, but it's not really... The movie's premise was based on a video game. However, the original concept had it based on a sealed video game. But the producers had to change the concept to an opened video game because it would've made the entire movie too rare for many people to watch. Happy new year from Gulag Joe.
  16. Was there a box and manual with no logo on the jersey as well or is it just a cartridge variant?
  17. They should make the pre grade photos zoomable. Or maybe it's my phone that doesn't allow me to zoom. I have to take a screen shot and then zoom in on that.
  18. I had a 9.8 I was certain of and it came back 9.2. Upon examining it after receiving it from Wata I found the box has some crushing on it that I know was not there when I sent it. Got shrugging shoulders as a reply to my concerns. Any future orders I send to them I will surely take thorough photos of each game to make sure accountability can be determined if it happens again.
  19. I don't get the newsletter but was pleasantly surprised when I saw grades posted. They certainly grade more lenient than I do. Had some "Gulag Joe 9.0's" come back 9.6 and 9.4.
