  1. Finally decided to read the Harry Potter series. I have only seen the first movie. So, I have no preconceived notions, I can just judge the books. I am 16 chapters into Tho Order of the Phoenix. They have all been easy reads so far. I would call them ok at best. Good children's books but meh for adults. I am still going to push through to the end.
  2. 50 per systems is easy to do. Just pick the games you will actually spend time playing. Do not pick what others have told you that you will enjoy. I have bought quite a few games that will only get a few minutes of play total. If I cut them out I could easily be down to 50. I don’t think I could even get up to 50 on Wii and Wii U. I am about 30 short on Switch also.
  3. I missed out on any of the official orders. I ended up going the ebay route. I highly recommend the UltraHDMI if you are serious about playing N64. Also, I found the 720 with hybrid scanlines settings to bring out the best picture quality in most the games I’ve played.
  4. Added a new amp to the collection 1988 Marshall JCM 800 2203 MarkII
  5. 9/10 the Highlander kicks ass! You missed alot of the good songs, though.
  6. I am attempting to revive an a/v modded top loader. It use to work fine then slowly degraded. For a while it would only play the demo loop on any game and freeze when you started to actually play. Then it would only display a purple, red, or blue screen after turning on. Now it is just a black screen. I am figuring one or both of the main chips are shot.
  7. I have been to quite a few concerts and music festivals. Gigantour 1, 2, and 3 Ozzy Fest just to see the Original Black Sabbath Reunion Both Van Halen Reunions with Dave and Sammy Metallica on every tour since Load Maiden at the San Bernardino amphitheater Tried to see Tool also at San Bernardino, but Maynard was so high that he fell down in the second song and just started rambling. They sounded like shit anyways. At least Alice in Chains put on a killer set just before. Alice in Chains multiple times Misfits with Michael Graves, wasn’t able to make any of the Danzig shows Rob Zombi with Anthrax. Don’t care for Zombi’s music, but he did put on a good stage show. I just went to see Anthrax. just to name a few of the more memorable ones.
  8. I would suggest that you not play Bethesda games on the PS3. Fallout 3 bricked my fat, and Skyrim killed my first slim. Both of them had the same issue the eye would constantly search, it happened when trying to load a after a game freeze. The 360 handles the game freezes better. If you do collect, just buy the good games. Both systems have a lot of trash. Also, 360 usually had the better version of a multi format game.
  9. When did Aldi become a fancy store? There was one where I grew up since the early 90s. Aldi use to be the cheap store where retirees and people who couldn’t afford Kroger or IGA shopped. It had all the weird off brands and random items in bulk.
  10. Pulled the changeables out of the basement tonight. They are mostly dinos, but it does show the difference in paint on the frybots.
  11. Looking at the picture I am missing the Big Mac. There are a different variations on the fries and hot cakes.
  12. Just the second stage boss from Conquest of the Crystal Palace.
  13. I was enjoying Luigi’s Mansion 3 until the boss on the 8th floor. That stupid cat, at first I couldn’t figure out how to hit it. Then after two hits it runs away and I can’t find the damn thing. The knight was a slight problem, but at least he had a tell. I do like the exploration and puzzle elements of the game so far. Just a few annoying things, the original is still better.
  14. I have all the original changeables. Recently found them in a box of my old stuff from Dad’s house.
  15. Rush is worshiped by music lovers everywhere. You also forgot Gordon Lightfoot.
  16. 3/10 Leader of Men is the only Nickleback song I enjoy. I actually seen them play a little venue back then. They were alright live.
  17. I do the same, then pause the podcast when I get to a story section of the game. Then if I am playing an open world game I can just keep the podcast playing. If time is a concern. I find Mario or similar style platformers to be the best choice. I can play a level or two then take a break.
  18. I will clarify my post a bit. It was not intended as a commentary on the rich vs. poor in collecting. I used the phrase “big money speculators” as a stand-in for investors. The phrase was used to try and differentiate between investors and hobbyist. The one only caring about the money to be gained from an item, while the other cares about the item itself.
  19. That sounds well and good, but I have seen this happen to other hobbies. Usually leaving only the high end traders after the invasion. I use to buy and sell music gear. Custom shop guitar, boutique amps, vintage Les Pauls and whatnot. I use to be able to buy a 70s-90s LPC in ok shape for $500 or less and fix it up with original vintage hardware and pickups for under $1k total. Then after the big money came in I can’t hardly even find a pair of vintage dirty fingers pickups for under $500 and the guitars are $3k+ for a poor condition. I could go on and on about this. My point being when big money speculators invade a hobby it prices out the true hobbyist who just want to collect cool items.
