Anyone else get a shipping sticker shock from Strictly Limited Games recently? A year or so ago when I ordered Deathsmiles from them I paid $10 for shipping. Today I got quoted $25 shipping for Osman. No, I did not place an order for it due to this.

I believe it comes down purely to the Switch dominating in Japan and the Japanese devs not wanting to put resources into other ports. No PC-Engine CD Valis IV in the collection, which is odd since these are all the PC-Engine versions in this collection.

I hadn't read this thread until today, but I did increase my ebay prices prior to the end of 2021 to account for the increased tax headache I will be dealing with getting rid of some of my unwanted collectibles. I did have buyers already. I'll put up with ebay and the 1099-K tax reporting for for this year. If I'm too annoyed by it, I'll just hang up my hat on the prospect of selling the small amount of stuff I have no use for.

Heads-up warning: eBay now requiring a Photo ID
mrbogus replied to Chaos Control's topic in General Collecting Discussion
So far this month ebay made me re-verify my bank account despite doing this same process last year. I guess eventually they'll get around to demanding my photo ID on top of that. -
Not something I put much thought into, but I guess I'll say NES Metroid's manual. The little doodles in it are charming.

Looks to be a Raspberry Pi device running Retroarch cores. I would rather get the Analogue Duo whenever it comes up for order.

Just ordered Pocky and Rocky 2 - overpaid?

I know its not the same for many. Just depends on how you weigh your nostalgia for the original article and the cost of ownership. -

There's more than likely going to be an official reprint of Pocky and Rocky 2 in the near future since Limited Run Games is currently partnering with Natsume to re-publish their retro catalog. If you don't mind the Nintendo seal of approval not being on the cart maybe look into re-selling that P&R 2 you bought and get that instead. You'll save a few bucks and have a legitimate version of the game for your SNES. -
Don't want to be the nerd here, but ResetEra spawned from gaming-age.com/neogaf forums over a schism with the admin. Gaming-age.com was first registered in 1997. AtariAge.com was registered in 2000.

Taito/Square Enix has been milking the old Darius games as much as they possibly could with their releases over the last decade. Remastering the PSP game over and over again and putting out collections of the older games for higher prices. Sometimes splitting them for expensive double-dips. I hope this is the last time they do this and actually produce something new in the Darius series.

Combat for the Atari 2600. It was bundled with the console. First non-bundled game? Maybe Space Invaders for the 2600.

How willing are you to "gamble" on eBay?
mrbogus replied to Naked Warrior's topic in General Collecting Discussion
I will buy from a seller who has just one positive feedback, but I will not buy if there are no pictures of the item on the listing. -
My favorite shooter on the NES. Great gameplay with really good graphics and music. Just grab the number 7 weapon the whole game and you should be able to beat it. I know some prefer the original MSX version or the “EX” version on the MSX2. The EX version is interesting to me. It has a real ending screen rather than just some text.

Quite right. I'm totally fine with that too.

More Natsume published retro games by LRG. I think the old Pocky & Rocky titles are next.

Hopefully complete my most wanted Turbografx-16 and Saturn games lists. Both are pretty short at this point. -
What makes a collection display really wow you?

Rare stuff and arcade cabs grab my attention. Things I have little of. -

New eBay Managed Payments - They cut PayPal out!
mrbogus replied to tbone3969's topic in General Collecting Discussion
I agree. I liked the ability to just sell on ebay, leave the funds parked on Paypal, and buy something else without the transfer times. Now I'm lucky to get my money within a week of something selling. -

For me Ebay sent a message to my account with this demand "All sellers receiving this email are required to update their account details by 12/31". I've read before they want to get all sellers switched over by the end of 2021. It seems random when they send you the demand message. -

Ebay sits on your seller money for a few days until they finally transfer it to your bank account, which also can take a few days more. If you don’t switch over by the cut-off date I imagine they just sit on your money until you add your bank info. I further expect they’ll continue to nag those who don’t switch over by email and messages in your account area. -
This looks like a Sonic Mania style remix of the original games with some new stuff added. They should have just went with that look and gave us a 16/32-bit mash-up like Sonic Mania. I would have been fine with that. Either that or the Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom look. Which IMO, is what modern 2D games that don't use retro assets should strive for.
