  1. Original thread idea, and a good one at that! A lot of good suggestions, but surely Saturn has to take the win! That top 10 consists of almost all killers, no fillers.
  2. Like mentioned, this is not related to regional variations. It's an issue I've seen reported several places, and mentioned in videos. I can also easily reproduce it in each playthrough.
  3. Please read this: https://m.facebook.com/MegaManUnlimited/posts/835809839839913 It's just how MM6 was programmed. Not everyone will notice it while playing. I am not talking about input lag. I am talking about inputs not registering in certain situations. See link for specific info. While you are right that I am European, I only play NTSC games on compatible hardware and monitors. So only 60hz here. No PAL games, no PAL consoles, nor any 50hz displays. I've tested across original hardware, emulation, Analogue Nt mini fpga, as well as original cart and EverDrive N8. Even tested on a PVM, as well as modern LED. Tested with OEM controllers in pristine condition, as well as with 2.4G 8BitDo. Same results everytime. MM6 has control issues.
  4. MM6 has some dodgy input detection. Doesn't happen often, but it can misregister or miss an input. The slide/jump issue, like you mentioned. You can't jump out of a slide. But also jumps not registering if hit simultaneously while switching directions. This only happens sometimes, which makes it even worse. It's inconsistent.
  5. Mega Man 5 is my favorite MM-game. It's the most polished, and best controlling game of the classic series. MM6 messed up the controls a little with some sloppy input detection. MM6 is still great, though. The only thing missing is the iconic soundtrack of MM2. Heck, it's my favorite NES game.
  6. Hard to say... I'd put Odyssey near the bottom, though.
  7. Yes, it would, as the Super Game Boy is just a Game Boy without a screen.
  8. I just fired up the Genesis version, for a double-take. It runs smoother than the SNES version, but has the exact same problems. It's just not very fun. Veeery slow and deliberate. Boring platforming and weird placement of collectibles and enemies. Again, it looks great. But I can't get into it.
  9. I agree with a lot here. There is a lot of variety in the level design, for sure. However, there are certain things I don't like. The character and enemy sprites are too big, making it a slog. It feels way too deliberate and finicky at the same time. It's hard to explain, but I think other reviewers have done a far better job than me in critiquing it. I'm also not a fan of Joe & Mac, or Toki.
  10. It's basically the exact same game on both platforms. It might run a tad better on Genesis. I do enjoy it for the visuals, audio and neat presentation. The alignment with classic Mickey shorts is also really cool. Going from black&white to colors in the first level is a blast the first time you experience it. But gameplay-wise it has a lot of problems. It's not an unpopular opinion. If you check all the reviews of it online, it's not a very liked game. I played it a lot when I was a kid, and didn't really enjoy it except for the fact that it looks gorgeous. Playing it today, it's a hard one to enjoy. Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, however... That's a classic!
  11. Mickey Mania - while absolutely gorgeous, and a novel idea - is actually pretty bad. Same goes for Lion King. Poor gameplay and level design.
  12. While I totally agree with everything Sumez said, there is a nostalgic soft spot for the game I just can't shake off. The instant I turn it on, and that music plays, I'm hooked. The colorful visuals, catchy soundtrack and fun pogo mechanic make it a blast. It's a game I can turn on and just blast through, anytime. I wish it was deeper, and had better hit detection. But it doesn't detract much from the overall enjoyment. I think DuckTales 2 is the better game, but the lack of a memorable soundtrack makes me play it less often.
  13. 2-1-3, like many already pointed out. These days, I think only 2 holds up.
  14. I'd recommend this review: https://youtu.be/TCyLTUJGXzQ
  15. Oh, I know. 'Twas just a comment on bad marketing.
  16. I will get on this, eventually! Looks really fun, like the previous games. The trailers are a mess, though All that huge text, awful zooms and edits... Just show the gameplay as cleanly as possible, dammit!
  17. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2022/04/in-rare-interview-monkey-island-designers-tell-ars-about-long-awaited-return/ Interesting interview of Ron Gilbert on the new game.
  18. One of the biggest caveats of JRPGs is the overly monotonous grinding for items that are way too rare. Any game or hack that seeks to remedy this, is a blessing to the entire genre.
  19. I bet she plays it because she likes the game. If you're putting achievements ahead of the actual game, you might as well just grind those click-to-win games.
  20. Ron Gilbert has been given the very unexpected go ahead by Disney to direct and write a brand new Monkey Island! Devolver Digital will be publishing, which means it's all but guaranteed to hit all major platforms, including Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. This is arguably the biggest and most surprising news in recent years. It will be a direct sequel to the first two games, as expected and always communicated by Gilbert. Personally, I've always enjoyed the third game as well. Nonetheless, this is fantastic news for those who care.
