  1. Hmm… should I buy both games in the bundle for $19 or each one individually for $11?
  2. Forget the little Mermaid. Nobody plays this game anyways. What I am pissed about is how Super Mario Bros 1 doesn’t have a save battery. Like seriously, does Nintendo expect me to use the warp zone and lose all my points and my fire flower if I want to play again later. Do better Nintendo
  3. Ok I will give this a try. I have had it for years but never actually played it
  4. Haha We’ll be defending Metroid 2 to the grave. I am presuming your other Gameboy 10 is Links Awakening?
  5. If you want to play the NES version, please do consider playing Metroid Mother+99. There are some definitely frustrating parts to the vanilla NES game (I personally can see past them because I have mastered the game) The patch will make it more enjoyable for new people playing. Also @SilverSurfer
  6. I wonder if a Zelda movie would follow the Zelda formula ( beat 8 bosses to get medallions to open Gannons fortress, beat 4 divine beasts to weaken Gannon, etc.) or if it would be more generic. Like Link just finds Gannon and defeats him
  7. I think the artist was an American guy and what we in US ultimately got was the image below: Unless I’m mistaken, I think the Europeans took the American art for Megaman 4 and Megaman 5 and redrew Megamans face. So I wonder if this one may have been a case of the same
  8. Pokémon, Mario and Zelda are the big moneymakers. We already got a Pokémon and Mario movie. I’m betting the next movie will be Zelda.
  9. I am pretty sure Buyatari owns a bunch of the Megaman original artwork
  10. Metroid + Saving (v 0.3) - snarfblam adds MinimaP, filesave, Beamstacking, Better icebeam and bombs MDbtroid - Infinity’s End: Nicer title screen, Nicer endings, Updated player sprites, Updated enemy sprites, updated Kraid and Ridley, Updated Mother Brain, updated tiles ‘Roidz - DemickXII: Nicer background tiles, Animated lava, doors and elevators, Animated corridors, Animated Norfair, Animated Tourian, updated tiles Metroid Mother: This hack combines the three above hacks. It was created to be the ultimate NES remake of a classic game. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1988/ Metroid 99: starts you off with your tanks FULL and at 99 energy Metroid Mother+99: This is an addendum to the Metroid mOTHER patch by dACE, which adds the functionality of the Metroid99 patch by Maximum Potion. By patching this on top of Metroid mOTHER, you will start the game with 99 health, and any energy tanks will be refilled. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3640/
  11. The frustration is what eventually makes it rewarding. No pain, no gain. I get it though. People don’t have time like they used to. We used to play as a group when I was a kid. Always at least two people watching while one person was playing. So we always gave the person playing ideas and suggestions. I guess when you playing by yourself, you can lose motivation
  12. Back in the day, clothes were probably more likely to be 100% cotton, 100% flax, or 100% wool. Nowadays everything is a blend with synthetic materials and probably is less susceptible to wrinkles.
  13. It’s funny that nobody cared about save feature back in the day. And by the time complaining about its omission became trendy, there was already a save feature in All Stars as well as SMA4
  14. I used to iron my clothes every morning before work. Since I had to be out the door by a certain time, I learned to iron my shirt and pants within like 2-3 minutes. in 2017 or 2018 our business had a financial slump and they suspended our 401k match, laid a bunch of people off, and ommitted our annual pay raise. To make things seem less bad, they also suspended the business casual dress code. I haven’t worn a button up shirt since then and I don’t intend to ever again
  15. I was thinking about bidding but I figured someone here was after it so didn’t want to fight for it
  16. It was originally for work but now she uses it as her personal. She has a newer machine for work. This one is for personal use and she was traveling with it for vacations (yea seems impractical given its weight). I don’t think she wants to use it with a dock or monitor as she keeps it on her coffee table and was bringing with her on vacation trips. How do external cards connect? Via usb??
  17. The deal breaker is the 17 inch display. She needs a large display because of her eyesight. I think the 17 inch displays will put it into a higher price bracket
  18. What current gen processor would be considered equivalent specs to this old GPU+i7 processor? Like if I were to buy a new/modern laptop what kind of processor should I be looking at to make sure we are meeting or exceeding the old specs
  19. Yea I tried connecting it to an external monitor while the GPU was still installed and we got the same result… there was no display. She has been using this laptop all this time and is very used to it, so if changing out a $200 part will get her going again, I’d rather do that. The specs on this laptop seem to still be reasonably good even compared to today’s standards. It has 16gb of ram, i7 gen4 processor, 17-inch display and backlighted keyboard.
  20. My mother in law has an Alienware 17 Model P18E from 2013. She’s not a gamer… it was her work laptop for 3d modeling. Recently I believe the GPU failed. There is no display when I turn on the laptop. When I remove the GPU, the display works. I think that means it switches over to integrated graphics on the motherboard. I want to order her a new graphics card. I don’t have much experience with upgrading graphics cards, so I’m not sure if there are compatibility issues I need to be looking out for. I was thinking to just buy an exact replacement of the original nvidia 89T386-Z410A0 for around $150-$200. But if it’s not anything too expensive or complicated to do, I’d consider buying an upgraded graphics card. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get?
