nesmaster14 | 436
AverageOliver98 - I was going to choose Gimmick for day 6, haha. Solid game and soundtrack throughout! I recall there was even a mini documentary on the composer years back by Red Bull Academy (?). It's pretty neat if you haven't seen it. koifish | 556
I realized today that I thought it was the 8th, so I went more overboard than I thought with entries. I'm almost wondering if I don't want to build a higher difficulty level for myself, thinking of ideas, maybe I'll try that in days to come. I had some ideas for how to intensify the challenge, but instead I'm just going to do as second lunatic chart since it seems I was late to doing it last year (or whenever the last one was), as long as people are okay with me monopolizing two posts in this thread. I'll trouble myself further to not use any repeat series across both lists. Day 1 - Title Screen DuckTales (NES) - The Moon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF32DRg9opA Day 2 - Desert Area Aladdin (SNES) - Streets of Agrabah (Stage 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru9ip0SIEio Day 3 - Nintendo Exclusive Pocket Card Jockey - Funky Monkey Style (Old Horse G1 Race) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE5WnCtNFgw Day 4 - Game from Last Decade Persona 5 - Last Surprise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec4YbVP9R-A (Still the hardest category! ) Day 5 - Jazz Marvel Vs. nesmaster14 | 436
I think there was that stage where you descend into a mine from the start and basically it's entirely underground. It's been a long time since I've last played (but still listen to soundtrack). Cheers!

In Remake almost every fight has its own track, including a whole bunch for the "random" encounters, and most of them are new arrangements based on the same repeating motifs from the original tunes of the classic. It really is a fantastic way to employ familiar music that's already recognized to be great, while avoiding repetition, and giving every moment in the game its own unique identity. It's really incredible how much work was put into that game.

koifish | 556
Day 8 sure leaves you spoiled for choice, huh? I was thinking, a super-tough next-level difficulty could be all of Lunatic plus not reusing any developers. So if you use a capcom-developed game, then that's it, no more capcom games. Maybe for next time I will try that. Sounds really tough!

Outside of S.S.H. there are plenty of Youtubers and bands making covers of these old songs, like FamilyJules, Powerglove, Smooth McGroove, Gamer Shredding etc. Then there are plenty of orchestral remakes of older music. Especially Squareenix has done a lot with these, but other companies, too, e.g. see Final Fantasy Distant Worlds. There's even a symphonic suite for Actraiser! Just a bit of searching and you'll find a lot. Nobuo Uematsu also had private bands such as The Black Mages or the Earthbound Papas. Or see TPR who released entire albums with melancholic music from games such as Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger. I could probably go on, but this is what I remember off the top of my hat.

Strange as I've listened to enough of the SSH concerts to think you'd remember them...ah well, I made it through this time.
