  1. Yeah. It looks like it might have been a rental because it had some etching in the side of the plastic. Also it was in a lot of like 20 other games so I didn't think it would have been fake when I bought it.
  2. Security Screws, Orange Dots, No number printed on back label
  3. Ah so I guess that Oct date is right! Maybe I got my info from bootgod, when they estimated first run production as Nov of 87 then. We should compare all the 5 screw MTPOs and see if theres a running theme with the date codes. Ill post mine later
  4. Oh interesting. Mine doesn't have white bullet points but orange, no product ID and security screws, not the flat head screws. The date code was nov of 87. EDIT, I should say that they should also be PRG-0. I believe there is a PRG-1 revision that came later too.
  5. Mine doesnt have a code stamped on the back either, but just the way that the label looks doesn't sit right with me
  6. Its a really gray area with some 5 screws if they were indeed first prints are refurbs. Theres one known 5 screw RC Pro Am... yeah its probably a refurb, but when you're in the middle between rare 5 screw and common 3, its hard to tell. In my research, as limited as that may be, just about EVERY rare 5 screw game has the earliest PRG date code. My 5 screw Mega Man has a date code of I think the last week of 87, and there are others with an earlier date code (I think 48th week). Is mine a refurb or true 5 screw? Who knows. At LEAST MTPO there are more of, AND labels to help. Am I the only one that thinks that back label looks fake? If so, its a good chance that front label is too because it shoudln't have the product ID. Sorry to the OP for buying this, but worth a shot. $500 might be the right price to sell it quick thinking the buyer will get a good deal, and still make a good amount of money on it. I just saw that the one from heritage (ick) went for 1300 last week
  7. I dunno, something isn't lining up. I'd have to see better pics when it comes. I dont know how the back shell can even fit without the plastic on the inside removed. Also I thought all first print MTPOs don't have their code on there, but then theres this: https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-games/mike-tyson-s-punch-out-wata-70-cart-loose-5-screw-cart-mid-production-nes-nintendo-1987-usa/a/7236-97115.s
  8. I dunno the more and more I look at it, the labels look fake. Who was the seller?
  9. I think the gold ones are missing Tyson. It ends at Super Macho Man.
  10. I dunno. Maybe? Why is it we have never seen one aside from this and the other MTPO? Never another similar Fami/NES release? Even in late 85, IIRC the adapters were only found in certain Black Box games and not all of them. Hogans Alley, Duck Hunt, Gyromite, Pinball, and Stack Up I think are the only ones that had it. Maybe one or two more? Mach Rider?
  11. I personally don't think that Oct 87 US date is right. First print/5 screw chip dates are usually late Nov 87. Im pretty sure mine is. I always thought it was a Dec 87 release, which also falls in line with why that and Mega man are so rare as 5 screws because they were the last games to make that late 87 cut off
  12. Heres also a Duck Hunt famicom board with the screw hole already in the middle. I dunno why its there, I dont think any of the famicom carts have a screw that fits that hole, but it seems like the adapter/nes shell was designed with this in mind http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=1642
  13. They were only manufactured then. But look at the front label, if its a first print it shouldn't have the PT code, and also the back label looks fake to me. And like I said, when its put together, that middle screw is blocked by the Tyson PCB. Im pretty sure on EVERY NES game with a converter, there is a hole in the japanese PCB to accomodate for that. I know every copy of Stack up has it so heres what it looks like http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/imagegen.php?ImageID=13224&width=600
  14. The famicom version was released before the US version correct? Was there a later print run of the famicom games, meaning they were printed after 11/87 or early 88?
  15. So this the 2nd one? I still can't understand how this exists since 1) the famicom adapter black box games were only made in late 85 (even the CIC chip on this adapter is 48th week of 85) and also the 5 screw shell doesn't fit in the game as the middle screw holder is blocked by the pcb. Also call me crazy but that back label looks 'sus'. PS don't the first print Mike Tysons Punch Out not have the PT code on the label? Mine doesnt.
  16. Its like someone played telephone with 100 people about what the plot is about and the last person was challenged to write the least funny script they could come up with from what they heard. All I needed to see was the trailer and it completely lost the plot of what made GB incredible. The writing and chemistry between the characters. The definition of cringe. TBH what I think happened was there was so much hype over GB3 and when Bill Murray drug his feet about it, they decided to put something out and strike while the iron was hot with all the buzz and momentum. Including all the product placement and merchandising.
  17. Thanks for the update. Ill add it! I made this list a while ago so im sure more crept in without me knowing about it.
  18. Im not totally discounting your idea. Its the more probable one than anything else. So when a game goes bad, who were you to contact, Nintendo? Then they'd ship the game to the publisher/developer? Your theory can hold weight, but i'm trying to figure out where there would be a 5 screw TMNT 2 cart then? Everything inside and outside of it is 100% Nintendo 'branded', like all the other licensed Nintendo carts, as opposed to Silent Service, which was put together by Konami/Ultra.
  19. Just to update, I found this list I wrote. I need to find if I made a list of all the '24' back printed, aka custom Konami PCB games, but I'm still certain they're only for simpler, 'UNROM' games. Basically any game on this list printed before 1988. With this list, it shows 5 screws being found for games that im PRETTY sure didn't have that '24' custom Konami PCB, like Tiny Toons (MMC3), TMNT 2 and 3 (MMC3), Base Wars (MMC3), Carmen Sandiego (MMC3) and just by using the Wayback Machine for bootgod, it only shows those 5 games only having Nintendo printed PCBs. Of course bootgod isn't the be all, end all but its the best cross section of games we can find. These are normal 5 screw Konami games officially released. All 87: - Gradius (1987) - Track and Field (1987) - Stinger (1987) - Top Gun (1987) - Rush n' Attack (1987) - Double Dribble (1987) - Goonies 2 (1987 Very uncommon) - Castlevania (1987, a little uncommon) Konami: - Castlevania 2 Simons Quest (1988) - Contra (1988) - Jackal (1988) - Adventures of Bayou Billy (1989) - Track and Field 2 (1989) - Super C (1990) - Top Gun 2 (1990) - Bill Elliots NASCAR (1991) - Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego (1991) - Tiny Toons (Dec 1991) - TMNT 3 (1992) Ultra: - Metal Gear (1988) - Skate or Die (1988) - Q*Bert (1989) - Silent Service (1989) - TMNT (1989) - Defender of the Crown (1989) **UPDATED** - Kings of the Beach (1990) - Rollergames (1990) - Snakes Revenge (1990) - TMNT 2 (1990) - Mission Impossible (1990) - Cyber Series Base Wars (1991) - Ski or Die (1991) These games have not been found to have a 5 screw demo/refurb carts before 1992: - Life Force (1988) - Blades of Steel (1988) - Jack Nicklaus (1990) - Castlevania 3 (1990) *RUMORED TO EXIST* - Laser Invasion (1991) - Lone Ranger (1991) Ultra 5 screw demo/refurb carts not yet found: - Gyruss (1989) - Pirates! (1991) *EDIT* Also using bootgod heres a list of all the games that use Konamis PCB boards. Might as well have everything in once place: 351258 (Konami's UNROM board) - Blades of Steel - Life Force - Silent Service - Skate or Die! 351298 (Another Konami UNROM board) - Double Dribble - Skate or Die! 351320 (Another Konami UNROM board) - Jack Nicklaus' Golf - Metal Gear -Skate or Die! UNK-Konami-ME-USA - Metal Gear 351908 (Konami's SLROM/MMC1 board) - Adventures of Bayou Billy - Ski or Die - TMNT - Track Field 2 (Rev A) 352056 (Konami's TLROM/MMC3 board) - Mission Impossible - Super C - Top Gun The Second Mission
  20. I do have life force but it has the normal Konami board, the one where the '24' is printed on the back label, unless thats what you mean. The chip DOES say Konami, but I think its just how they printed it, as other games that dont use the NES-XX-PRG format were printed by their own developers (Like Acclaim). I want to say though that those '24' printed carts were ONLY for games that used discreet logic 74xxx mappers (Mainly UNROM), and no MMC1/MMC3 chips which some of those 5 screw 'refurbs' would have.
  21. Oh, I didn't remember seeing Konami printed on the PCB. I'll have to look into that. Actually im not even sure if I have Life Force haha
  22. Which Konami games have those? Do you mean the VRC chips? Those were only exclusive to Famicom games. Also Sunsoft Return of the Joker uses a custom MMC3 mapper chip (Forget the name, I think FMV?) It was the same chip that is used for the PAL Mr. Gimmick and the NTSC prototype
  23. Thats so strange? The link actually worked a couple of hours ago. Anyway, yeah Acclaim used their own MMC3 clone chips. If you have a Roger Clemens MVP open it up, theres a good chance its in there. When I clicked the link for other games, it showed plenty of others, like Alien 3, George Forman, Super Smash TV, Bart Meets Radioactive Man (anything released after 91). I think every copy of Rollerblade Racer has it.
  24. They did that too. Aside from the CIC chip, practically everything from those later era Acclaim games are self made. The shells (which is why they look terrible when they age, they're cheap), the labels (also cheap, which is why the glue seeps in), the PCB, and also the MMC3 clone chip Acclaim-MMC-ACC http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=719
