  1. Massachusetts. Sorry, left out the word "Recon," it's the Recon Chat headset - the one that's just one ear: https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/recon-chat-white-headset-xbox-one Everything in this thread is used, not new. I got rid of my Xbox One last year, so this is just a bit of what's leftover from that collection.
  2. didn't realize it got a physical release in Japan. Thanks for the heads up!
  3. I bought in PC way back when it first launched, and got distracted soon after. It does seem like the sort of game I'd enjoy more on Switch. I tend to think I'll check it out again SOMEDAY.
  4. turns out, you nailed it. In issue #43, Battle Clash is NOT part of the "Now Playing" reviews. It is included in a longer bit with some strategy stuff, but my mistake came from the fact that its review score WAS included with list of games of reviewed in Now Playing. Thanks!
  5. haha, I was saying I don't get the reason for the hate of Nightmare On Elm Street, specifically. That said, I still really enjoy Friday The 13th. And I played tons of LJN MLB as a kid. And Jaws has its merits. I haven't played all of those games personally. And I'm not even interested in all of them. I would check out those Marvel games I missed, bad or not - just out of morbid curiosity. I guess I generally think that LJN was at least a more interesting publisher than they got credit for. Whether those games were successes or failures (however you define that) aside.
  6. I'll confirm tonight, but I am 99.9% sure that the #43 issue has an actual review score. ALTHOUGH... is it possible that they printed a walkthrough type deal in #43, but also included the review score from the previous month? Hmm. EDIT: okay, so they may have really reviewed it twice... https://nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/Nintendo_Power_V43 Now Playing This article lists new game releases and ratings for those games. It also has a very brief overview of a few of them. 7. Weird question, I guess. I have issue #43 (Road Runner Death Valley Rally, 12/1992) of NP and Battle Clash is reviewed for SNES in it. However, I've noticed that various sites reference that it was actually reviewed in the 11/92 (Super Star Wars) issue, which I don't have a copy of. What the heck? Is it the same review reprinted? Is it a different review? Same or different score?
  8. Yeah, I mean I got the game as a kid and had the manual so understood what was going on (the shift from day to "sleep", the swapping the of characters, etc). I think if you fired it up with no idea of the mechanics outside of y'know, "platform" then you'd be kind of lost. It's even randomized which buildings (levels) are open when. It's got kind of a stripped down Castlevania II vibe in that way. I'd say check it out - but maybe with a walkthrough or at least read the manual first. I think it's an overlooked gem, probably because people don't really "get" it going in and just get frustrated.
  9. I've never understood the hate for it honestly. It has fantastic music. You have multiple characters w/ multiple powers you can swap through. Each level has two versions based on if you're awake or dreaming. It's a really unique and awesome game. As stated, I'm a bit of an LJN defender - and I even get enjoyment out of Friday The 13th. But I recognize that that game has some serious flaws. Nightmare On Elm Street is genuinely good - at least to me.
  10. I'm a long defender of LJN. And I don't give a F, the Nightmare on Elm Street game is one of my favorite NES games.
  11. Isn't "Plus" just Sonic Mania with all the DLC? And the vanilla Sonic Mania was digital only.
  12. oh, I don't disagree with that at all. As a Nintendo console (and explicitly as the follow-up to the Wii) it was certainly a failure. I was more noting that I was surprised it had actually done as well as it had.
  13. Interestingly, the Wii U sold more than the Saturn or Dreamcast did. Not that either of those were huge successes, but I would have guessed that at least the DC sold more than Wii U. And as you mentioned, Wii U didn't get a big price drop. And yeah, 13M units sold is a far cry for the 700,000 or so VB's.
  14. I've always thought the disks were super cute. But never really looked into the system. I'm assuming there's no way to hook it up to a Retron 5, eh?
  15. my main issue is that I can't seem to play FPS stuff in handheld mode. I play A LOT of Overwatch, but if I want to play it portable, I have to stand the Switch up next to me and use a Pro Controller. Something about the layout of the buttons or the size/bulk of the attached JoyCons makes it so I can't seem to hold the system securely and actually play the damn game at the same time. I don't know. I have no issues with 2D stuff. 3D is kind of a mixed bag. I played dozens of hours of BOTW in handheld, but definitely it's more comfortable with a Pro Controller. I'm just thinking that extra bulk to those Hori's would help alleviate my comfort issues.
  16. so awesome. I've just started collecting NP about six months ago or so. This is a great resource.
  17. Let me know your impressions on that Daemon X Machina Hori controller. I've had it in my Amazon wishlist for months, but haven't pulled the trigger.
  18. Okay, so I picked up (or rather downloaded) Downwell which is one of those super hyped indie games, but it was only $3. I.... really like it. It's scratching that Spelunky/Dead Cells itch. Good stuff.
  19. In fairness, I think there's times where all of the assets wouldn't fit on the disc. Maybe? I mean that's definitely the case with certain Switch games not being able to fit on a cartridge.
  20. ugh, that Bridge Constructor Portal looks cool. I remember we had a guide to all these small print run Switch companies on some other forum. Have we started one here yet? It's a tough thing to keep track of.
