  1. This has always been my reason for having shelves and shelves of games. 100%. Just pull and play whatever, whenever.
  2. I have a full [worldwide] NES licensed set minus Stadium Events (and the elusive Mah Jong). Would I do it again if I had to start over? Never, ever. But I'm happy I completed it before the Covid price explosion stuff happened; it was a fun journey and I made a lot of friends along the way I still talk to on the regular. Now I just collect games for other systems that I'd actually want to play, because I'm a retro gamer that just likes owning physical carts still. I game daily; it's how I decompress and it's something I've done my whole life since the 80s.
  3. Felt this way about the Panesians I owned...once I sold them off a giant weight was lifted from my shoulders; shit games worth way too much money. To someone who values playability over collectability having those games never sat well with me so I'm glad they are gone...although, somehow I'm completely fine owning my Donkey Kong Jr Math CIB, which falls into that same category. Typical collector hypocrisy lol.
  4. Oh I also have a Racermate Challenge cartridge and console! That's for sale too. If you want me to post pics and prices for any of these things I can morph this thread into a catch-all unlicensed NES sale thread.
  5. I've opened a few in my day, yes that's the screw that belongs in there. They all look like that.
  6. @Code Monkey if you are genuinely interested I have Secret Scout, King Neptune, P'radikus Conflict (both blue and black carts), Castle of Deceit, Challenge of the Dragon, Galactic Crusader, Mission Cobra, Bible Buffet, Solitaire....some others too but yes, to clarify, I sold just the one cart above that had pics and was hinting there was more for sale within the parentheses. It wasn't part of the $1500 price tag on the Hot Slots.
  7. My post was for Hot Slots only, and I figured I'd mention I had other stuff for sale too...I still have those other games for sale and did not sell them. That was just for curious inquiries if someone needed more rare unlicensed NES games.
  8. Selling off my Hot Slots cart (and also some other rare Color Dreams games). $1500. Game works perfectly. I'm located in Chicago and am looking for a local cash deal for now. If you know a guy who knows a guy who wants one, send them my way. Thanks.
  9. This is exciting! Love the old man rares! Mah Jooooong.
  10. All the Genesis games, and 32X games I rented from my local blockbuster were always loose carts inside of those yellow Blockbuster clamshells. They never rented out the actual game box; it stayed in the shelf for display in case they had multiple copies to tuck behind it.
  11. I collected every North American licensed NES game, then got every PAL exclusive...suck me.
  12. Put on a 10-day eBay auction and let it rip.
  13. I spent 875 on mine, and same...most I ever spent and I felt a bit sick to my stomach at the time but it was the last game I needed for the "set" minus Stadium Events. That's all in the past now so I'm glad I did it because I'd never pay current prices for that cart.
  14. Thanks man. That was the biggest stroke of luck ever, because I've definitely tried to shake down many rental store owners all around Chicago, unsuccessfully, but at least my personal one growing up I was magically able to get ahold of them, AND they still had stuff leftover in storage. They folded in 1993 if I'm not mistaken and when I tracked them down it was 2017? Still just had NES and Genesis games in the basement of their little Wisconsin house that entire time. Kind of insane really that it panned out. The Chip 'N Dale and also Millipede NES carts I got from that haul are definitely the same exact carts I rented growing up so it's essentially like I tracked down lost original childhood games. Side note, had I got ahold of them two years prior I could have scored even harder because the owner's son told me he "filled two big garbage cans up with Nintendo games" and threw them away because he said there was some kind of water damage near where they were stored. That kind of kills me because I had a pretty damn good memory of what games were on their wall back in the day and there was definitely a copy of Snow Brothers I was really praying for but alas that got thrown away. I met with the guy twice and here are both lots from the store. All games were $5 each no matter what (old school pricing), and the Wizard poster was $1. I have it hanging up in my game room above all my shelves. https://www.instagram.com/p/BgpZBCul1P7/?utm_medium=copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/Bg7ZKojFEgp/?utm_medium=copy_link
  15. I can recite the first time I played any game from my youth and what person's house I was at when I did...I can barely remember anything from 5 min ago but I can still remember all that clear as day. Definitely had a Flanders-esque family in my neighborhood and was excited to play Nintendo when I was at their house the first time......boom, Bible Adventures...all we were allowed to play. I later got banned from coming over anymore, for swearing.
  16. Mine are still on my spinners. I just thought they were kinda neat.
  17. If anyone could direct me to a Power Glove box protector I'd love them forever.
  18. I was in this (Robert Komen) and the Dentist was thee worst, but overall it was fine I guess. I didn't hate it, and I didn't love it. The girl from Sweden seemed the most legit and sincere in my opinion, and also the console collector guy was pretty interesting too.
  19. I spent far too much time trying to get nudy codes to work for both of these games. Kitana was pretty smokin', and the crazy amount of secrets already put into MK2 gave me hope that the Nudality was real.
  20. Anyone have a copy of The Messenger, or R-Type Dimensions they wanna trade away? I have tons of retro games to offer up, or Castlevania collection/Doom collection/Cotton Guardian Force for Switch still sealed/new.
