  1. you should do it with Crystal Chronicles too, another game that is way too hard to enjoy as it was meant to be.
  2. how about a solar panel to charge batteries (rechargeable AAs or controller batteries)?
  3. Virtua Fighter is a blast, even if the music is incomplete and the graphics aren't as good. If you don't have a saturn handy then there's no reason not to have it in a 32X collection.
  4. I only discovered Ninja Boy 1 + 2 last year, the first was frustrating but the second is bizarre and cool. From my childhood, I'd say Beetle Adventure Racing (which wasn't obscure, it was even on Nintendo Power cover once IIRC, just never talked about now) and also I owned Bomberman 64: The Second Attack as a kid. Played it, got bored of it, sold it for a pittance to gamestop in the mid-2000s. I found out later I had lost a bundle on how expensive the cart got later, sucked but now I have a flash cart, so who cares? Collection be damned, just gimme the game! Also, had this GBC-exclusive Tom and Jerry game where you had to collect mice. Never knew anyone else to even mention that one.
  5. Sitting down VR can be good, but yeah, roomscale is a transformation. I have owned Vive and Rift, but sold both once I got a Quest. IMO there is no comparison, having a cable running from your head just ruins the VR experience. I don't particularly care if there are better graphics or superior physics, the games I've seen on Quest are good enough that I don't miss the graphics (after all, if I cared about graphics that much, how could I be a heavy classic gamer?). I don't think VR will ever replace mainstream games, because wearing goggles and doing stuff in VR just makes you look and feel like an ass, but the games themselves are great fun. I look forward to hopefully a backwards-compatible PS5 version of VR (so I can just pick that up and skip the entire PS4 line). I hear PSVR has a healthy collection of stuff, interested to play some of them going forward.
  6. not officially, you have to mod that game into the NES Online platform
  7. Sometimes it is the opposite. PlayStation consoles tend to have less features or lesser hardware as they get updated (at least up to PS3 and Vita) beyond power consumption. Nintendo consoles are typically also hackable only for the early versions, at least for several years.
  8. I can't imagine it would be "real" dancing. Moreover, should have ported something like House of the Dead!
  9. I've seen it done but with Four Swords Adventure on the Gamecube, using another four Gamecube+Game Boy Players and four TVs as the GBA screens. It looks ridiculous but it works. Someday I'll link a ton of Faceball 2000 units together too via SGB2.
  10. I'm glad you were willing to come back in spite of my prior remarks. I will join the onlookers in watching your crusade continue (while still doing a bit myself). On that note, I've started playing Vegas Stakes, that game will just take a lot of time, so I don't know when it will be done, but know that I'm still working on it. It's just that you are stuck at first. The first casino is only open to bets of a maximum of 300 per bet on Poker, 500 a game on blackjack, with little exception for increasing that. You can go to a bigger casino with no betting limit, but only after you make 100k. So, until I get there, it will just be a long slog to get that money.
  11. I'm a little ticked to see you finished Red, as I was working through that one already. Same for A-Mazing Tater, how did you do that one so quickly? I have to ask, and don't take this the wrong way, but do you do much other than play GB games? Or is there something you might not be telling us about your playing? I'm honestly starting to question how you're doing this so quickly. Granted I can't play it more than maybe an hour a day, but last year stuff like Ninja Boy and Pocket Bomberman took me a bit of time. They aren't especially hard, but they aren't exactly trivial either. I'm especially confused by how you say that Worms was the longest game for you, as that's actually a really short game since you don't need to win many games, and they don't take that long. Compared to the Star Wars games or to Ninja Boy, I don't see how that was the one that took you the longest. Again, not to be rude, just seems kind of weird that you're knocking out half a dozen GB games a day, even on weekdays.
  12. 4-in-1 Fun Pak is done. I had to study reversi strategy before I was able to win.
  13. Nice work on those games. Nobody has beaten Amazing Spider-Man 2 yet I think. Was the game very difficult? What did you think of it?
  14. Bust-a-Move 3 DX is done. Had no idea that Tim Follin did the music for that port. His name was right in there though. I played on mute so. Will have to revisit the soundtrack and see if I recognize any of his trademarks. I imagine it was something comparable to bionic commando, just rearranging songs from the original composer, still, it is interesting tidbit.
  15. Pinball Dreams is complete. To be honest, I have no idea how I got 7 million almost immediately on Graveyard, but despite that, I found the game pretty good! The pinball physics were, to me, good, and I think it exceeded my expectations for a GB pinball game. I wonder if through this contest, I will someday end up beating every game on the entire list. That would take a very long time, and I'm not sure I could really handle the rough ones, but we will see. For now, it's another one off the list.
  16. On that note of remembering I don't need a photo, Game Boy Gallery is complete.
  17. Oh yeah, I've just been in the habit of taking screenshots since I've been competing in the weekly GB contest.
  18. How do we show Game Boy Gallery (EU) is done? Play all the games, but then what, screencap that scores exist on the games? And is it Game A and B of every game?
  19. Pac-Man is done. This is the first screen after the third transition. bgb00054.bmp
  20. Lemme know if you ever get tired of it. I could probably have a good drunken weekend event with friends trying to finish it.
  21. One of the ultimate terrible GB games, NFL Football, is at last beaten. I can't believe it, but I actually got a grasp of how to play it well enough to finish a game. I'm happy too that I capped a screenshot when I did, because after this final results screen, there is absolutely nothing else. The game immediately reboots to the Konami logo. This one has to be one of the ultimate bad GB games. It is a little bit fun, but I could probably name 100 better games on GB, and I certainly don't suggest going for this one anytime soon. I plan to delve into the GB Madden games this year as well, hopefully they hold the promise of higher quality. To their credit though, I bet Konami squeezed this one into a tiny memory space. Cannot confirm or deny, however. And, I guess getting all the sprites on screen at once was a good accomplishment. Still, it isn't worth much. bgb00001.bmp
  22. I'm still chuggin' along on Pokemon, it's kind of fun playing again after so long. I'm purposely using a ton of Pokemon I've never used before, like Oddish, Clefairy, and Zubat among others. Afterward I'm thinking it's time to take on the never-beaten sports game nightmares. Last year went well for golf games, maybe this year will go well for the dreaded NFL games. Also, I will sadly have to start over my halfway-done playthrough of NBA Jam TE. At least it is a fun sports game though.
  23. First and last submission, I am not very good at these kinds of games I think. 606820 bgb00052.bmp Speaking of GBC pinball, @Splain, I think it would be pretty intense and epic to set Pokemon Pinball's clear conditions for GBC contest as "complete the pokedex'. Would probably take the whole year!
  24. On a slick white 3DS too, lookin' sharp. I always wished we had gotten the orange model that was demo'd at one time. At least there is the regular New 3DS with orange cover plates. Of course, those plates are going to get really expensive soon (some of them already are!).
  25. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man Color Editions have extra games. Pac-Man has both the original game and Pac-Attack, Ms. has Super Pac-Man IIRC. For that reason, you might argue that you have to finish or top scoreboards in both games on the cart. Then you run into another sticky situation, as Pac-Attack is already a separate cart for grey GB. We may have to check that one too for similarity. If it's the same, then should probably treat Pac-Man Color as an unneeded multi cart, like with the GB carts that are just multi-cart releases of two other separate carts.
