  1. So, are you using the vehicles? Because you should be able to get through the final stage regardless of your powers, so long as you don't get stuck on an island without a vehicle. The hard part is the final boss, which is easiest if you stock up on shooting weapons to destroy the things that project the homing spheres, otherwise the stage itself, you should be able to do it without going all the way back to the previous stage to level up. Not sure if you know but you can high jump with the walker, but the timing to do it takes practice, down and jump and just the right time and it will launch you much higher than a normal walker jump.
  2. The ever so perfectly named Cutie... Love her large images but somehow the smaller ones of her felt like different artistry. Also, why the pumpkin coloring? Anyway, yeah, cute as her name says. Oh, Astyanax in that one image is not supposed to be just a neon looking outline, but this is about Cutie. So thought about removing him completely but found a middle ground, there but not quite there.
  3. What I always say when my mom and I get to talking about stuff like actors and directors, singers and such, best thing to do, don't get too involved in their personal lives, just enjoy their movies, roles, songs, whatever and leave it at that, because really, most if you dig deep enough most will disaappoint in some way, after all, we are all merely flawed humans. I might look stuff up on wikipedia on a particular actor when or after watching a movie for instance, but that is just to satisfy an immediate curiosity, but I'm not going to dwell on any of it, just a bonus to accompany the movie, same with a particular singer or group or song, read up on them out of needing to know something more for what I enjoy of their works or mild curiosity and leave it at that.
  4. Another favorite, so much so that back in 2006 when my brother got the first computer our family ever owned (excludes webtv) I was working on the idea of changing Zelda II: The Adventure of Link into Arkista's Ring II, my very first sprite edit being turning an Ironknuckle into the Shogun (that cool looking guy on the cover below), and replaced every enemy as well as Link with edits for characters from Arkista's Ring, only I didn't know how to make it so that Link, now Christine would shoot (arrows) all the time. It was my first foray into pixel art, and I have Christine to thank because I thought she deserved a better game than what she got, not that her game is bad, just lacking. I never got far with it, cause then I went on to work on other ideas which in turn never completed. Anyway, with Christine, her in-game sprite or pause profile pic, not hot, but for the box art of her, wow. The in game image of her looks like a little girl, cute in a mischievious, little brat sorta way, but also sorta scary with that grin, as for the sprite, well, it's 16x16, not much can be done about that, other than use your imagination, I'll use the box art as my imagined imagine of her, always have. Better yet, I spent several hours making her in game profile pic better... ... there! That's more like it! Oh, too many colors for NES, not fair! Fine, limited colors... So I question... why did they tease me so with the hot elf on the cover, only to give me an impish little girl in-game? Yeah, I know, most box art was like this, still this one could have been just like the art.
  5. Here's a favorite (respectfully), Moby from WURM: Journey to the Center of the Earth. Too bad her game is... while a cool idea (because I like the vehicle too), is a bit lacking in greatness. Spend a few hours this afternoon going through parts of the game, taking snapshots and collecting her sprites and cutscene images and putting them together in this spritesheet. Hopefully not missing anything, but good enough for now.
  6. Close to home, in a water run-off pit, a sunflower plant grew...
  7. Funcoland was a great part of those years for me. Back in 1999, TMNT (NES), cheapest NES game (I bought) aside from Super Mario Bros/Duck. A mere 25 cents for the first TMNT game. And so many other games were reasonable, with the most expensive being ones like Megaman 5 at $25, Dragon Warrior III and IV and $30 and Lolo 3 and $30. Most NES games could be had for just a few a bucks, only challenge was finding them, and the traveling to different locations in the hunt and hope to find a desired game. And when you lucked out and there it was, whoa, talk about over joyed.
  8. I was working at Toys R Us in the mid-late 90s, and the TMNT toy line wasn't doing well. It seems hardly anyone was interested in them. They had a lot of stupid ones, themed turtles then. I though for sure they were going to completely die off the way things were going, also thought they should've, were past their prime.
  9. Times change, and so must cartoons, but they can still be funny. They were good shorts; had me laughing.
  10. Played this game for a little bit a long time ago. I thought it was pretty cool, but didn't play it long as I was also quick test playing many Famicom games back when I first got introduced to emulators and all the wonders of games that I would have never been able to experience otherwise. But sadly, time flowed and I forgot the name of it, until now.
  11. If you can find the pose you want then perhaps. As for covering all those very similar colors, I think I can, that is something I'd have to find out when going through all of my floss and seeing if what I can find will look good once stitched. Also at the moment time available could play a part in whether I can do or not because I have a lot of stuff going on. But if you can get me the pic of her you want stitched then I'll take the time when I can to look over it and then can give you a more sure answer.
  12. Painted cow statue along the main road to the post office. I've been wanting to take a picture of this for a long time but hate walking alongside heavy traffic, but with this virus, traffic was hardly much.
  13. Huge stitch that would run somewhere around $42-$50+ (I charge 2 cents per X-stitch and round up a dollar or few depending on how much material I use and this one would take a lot more than the usual), depending on the animation frame you pick and how many pixels it involves stitching. You'd have to provide an accurate sprite for me, I can't very easily run arcade games on my laptop. I don't often do sprites stitched this large, but have done a few, but it takes a very long time. Example one I found: By comparison working on a rather large one now but is much easier do to using only a few colors, but I've put in many hours on it. And I have done a couple even bigger than this, ones I can't show because they are gifts for someone, but they had exceeded 2000 stitches each, but also, NES sprites, less colors, less complex, but still took me many days, spending a few hours each day on. And they were sold for $40 each. So if you are serious about wanting the Ninja Warriors female ninja, I can do, just know it will take a while to finish and will be a hefty price. And the size of this sprite once stitched will be nearly 6 and a half inches tall!
  14. I can, depending on how big and complex they are. Bigger they are the more time it takes and more they will cost. Just let me know what you want and I'll take a look at it, then we can go from there.
  15. Send a message my way with what you have in mind.
  16. Ooh, totally forgot, also stitched a few other things I didn't yet post. Two sports related NHL ice hockey logos, The Penguins and the Black Hawks. Found both as pattern in a google search, the Black Hawks one was stitched as is, but I edited the one for the Penguins. Both of these were turned into magnets at $20 each. Oh, and player 2 Bad Dude for Jeevan, based on my custom Bad Dude sprite, editing the colors to make him different from the first one, even though on the NES they are wearing the same color clothes and look identical. So that is it, for now, but do have more to show soon once I stitch them.
  17. Finished stitching some things for ookii_risu, early birthday gifts, in addition to the Mappy cat and the Dragon Warrior III statue in the previous posts, also stitched 7 more Final Fantasy IV characters to accompany ones I had already stitched some months ago for her, and a special custom request, the Hamburger Helper hand, the Zesty Italian / Cheesy Italian meal version. So my girlfriend has a really bizarre obsession with this Hamburger Helper dude. It took a lot of work, but I am really super happy with how he turned out, and most of all she loves it. Happy early birthday me love. Original image used to create the cross-stitch:
  18. Score: 275000 (1st death was on the stage with the things with those long arms, lost several more lives there, and finally down to the zero life just at the start of the next stage)
  19. Seiken Densetsu 3 which I had made just a little more progress in but then got distracted by other titles I got to trying out and then playing longer than I expected like Breath of Fire, and Neugier... probably soon some others. And also had started Illusion of Time (Illusion of Gaia) and Tales of Phantasia some time ago, but given how much I keep spreading myself around on trying out various RPGs and such, I'm not even sure what will actually get finished and when. Found a lot more fan translated titles in french (Breath of Fire 1 & 2, Neugier which I am playing now, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, so on) so going to be jumping around a lot from game to game checking them out.
  20. The longest I ever played on a game were on the 360, be it Skyrim, Fallout 3, State of Decay or Just Cause 2, many times an all day long affaire with only small breaks with game left on to walk dog, go to the bathroom or fix something to eat. Heavily addicting, very long games, tons to do, not enough time to do it all. The body wants to gives up after a while and says, umm, are we like, going to sleep sometime soon, or at least rest the eyes, or get up and exercise, something... else? But then a time long ago I used to do the same on the NES, just with multiple games one after another and play all day on those days I was able to.
  21. It's all about the whips. Sofia (Battle Arena Toushinden) Quistis Trepe (Final Fantasy VIII) Lorelai (Suikoden 3) Whip (King of Fighters series)
  22. Still playing Seiken Densetsu 3. Spent a long time stuck in this cave building up my characters' levels before I was able to defeat the boss, some huge crab thingy with lots of cheap full screen attacks that are unavoidable, yep, same bullshit from the previous Mana game. And speaking of which, same crappy combat with my party that isn't in my immediate control doing stupid stuff and rushing into battle and getting enemies riled up and themselves unnecessarily hurt and the battleground turns into a chaotic mess where sometimes I lose track of where and who I am among the mess of sprites running around exchanging blows. I just want to kill the other two and go at it by myself, at least until I really need their overly aggressive support. I try changing their tactics but still nothing seems to change in their behavoir, stupid AI if that is what it can even be called. But made some progress, free'd the first mana spirit Lumina thus I suppose can use its power, but then got taken by surprise by the wolf-men and captured, but then another possible playable character that I chose not to use helped my group escape and that is where I am, now in the fortified city of Jade.
