Gotta keep it quick this week, on the road back to the Cedar point for coasters wheee Bought and fixed this 64 controller for cheap woo woo JPN exclusive off the list, haven't grabbed one in a while and this was already here in the states. Sealed copy of grimgrimoire came into the local for $30 and I was happy to snag it, prob gonna keep it sealed now that I know the re-release is heading stateside. Thrift gets, guitar strap for guitar heroing in style lol Hulk demo from spacepups game night super mystery box! Anyways kinda a spur of the moment trip so this week has been busyyy. See ya next Friday with a bunch of cool stuff from Jeeves

  7. Mystery box reveal! Holy moly so much stuff!! First off I was greeted by this fella Lil ufo guy on the right about to blast right up into em ooof amazing. Another sheet below it included polygonal tiddies. Amazing. Let the stuff rainnnnn I don't even know where to begin but the whole box made me laugh, so many cute and silly things. Thank you again pup for the kindnesssss!!
  8. Today I repaired a N64 controller I picked up yesterday for $6 with a wobbly stick and decided to make a lil post about the process. Issues with the design of the analog stick cause the base of the stick itself to grind against the support bowl.. as well as heavy use causing the gears become worn out or clogged up with the dust created by the bowl grinding. The controller uses all standard Philips head screws and is pretty easy to get inside. First off, remove the screws from the back, the top two by the accessory slot are smaller but longer. The stick is nestled under the z button pad, unclip it and move out of the way to remove 3 more screws and unplug the wire harness. The stick has 1 more screw on the back, then you're in. Ooof all that plastic dust. The sensor board lifts out easily as does the bowl assembly which has some wheel gears which are important (I don't know where to buy replacements haha) clean everything and if the bowl isn't completely gone then I reuse it. You can transfer the wheels to a replacement bowl if needed. The gears are usually worn out in the middle where the stick sits inside them and allow too much travel: not letting the stick return to center like it's supposed to.. but the teeth aren't usually an issue except for that plastic dust. The other side of the stick housing with the spring disassembles by twisting the stick to get through the gear arm's hole. This releases the spring tension and the top white plastic ring can be removed, this is the position that you want to have it back at for reassemble. I bought parts from https://store.kitsch-bent.com/collections/replacement-parts They sell the gears, bowl assembly, and different color sticks if you want. I got a few 'colors' for down the line but this one will be left stock other than the fix. I had heard that lubricating the gears lightly was the way to go so I picked up some of this super lube 21030 from the local harbor freight and used a cotton swab to dab a tiny bit on the gear teeth and other rotating parts like where the wheels are in contact with the bowl assembly, the inside of the bowl, and the bottom of the stick. Followed up with the dry side of the swab to remove the excess lube and it was good to go. Now the stick won't flop from side to side and remains center. https://i.imgur.com/xisxO79.mp4 While I was in there: cleaned all buttons and button holes, contact pads, excess flux from areas, accumulated finger fudge, the whole shebang and here's the final shot.. Good as new
  9. Not to crush your dreams or anything but literally any Microsoft employee had access to buy those, thousands and thousands of people. They would use the store to get gifts for their extended family, etc etc. They are still cool, I love those stickers but to narrow down the employee is a privacy thing.. like who do you want to think owned these?
  10. Needed to replace the shredding and worn thumbstick on my Xbox one controller, but I wanted to go another route and changed the buttons, face plate and sticks. This was the second time I've taken apart an xbone controller and the first doing the buttons. Here was the original look, lunar white: Results: Although I really liked the look of it stock, I got this halo faceplate/teal lookin buttons and sticks to use for a launch model controller and the halo face only fits the v2 model. Since my original plans couldn't work out I figured heck it, put it on this one.. changing the sticks and dpad is super easy but getting access to the buttons is a lot harder, even more if you don't want to remove wiring.. ended up snapping off a trigger rumble wire and had to solder it back on. Now it's working great and it was nice to learn, but a lil frustrating for me today haha very different compared to working on Xbox and 360 controllers (specifically taking the bumpers off, holding in the home button to get them off, oooof) but now I know how

Thanks for peekinnnnn, see ya next Friday with more stuffffff.
  16. Bunch of stuff this week so I'm posting half early, thrift finds and local stuff tonight and tomorrow the gets from 2 members here. Here goes this week's stuffffff. First off, found a couple maybe junk consoles thriftin': Untested PS2 with network adapter, after testing the drive is pretty dead and will pop out but won't read anything, been wanting one to play around with a dead drive. Not bad for the cost of the network adapter alone. After testing, it worked right away! Didn't chug on video or anything. I have spare everything ogx so I am always happy to have another, might finally mod one. $2.50 360 wireless guitar missing the battery back. My mom gave me these books, from my youth and I thought that was neat. Ddr controller stand alone for the Wii, found thriftin for $5.29 wooo. It uses the GameCube plug so I don't see why I couldn't use it with Mario mix. Ddr extreme 2, Kinect sports nfr sealed, N64 toy story 2 and turok 2 all from the thrift, sealed purrpals and a nice clean copy of spy vs spy from the local store and yet another Xbox hat thanks eBay, NFL Fever 2003. More tomorrow!
