  1. Item paid, sent end December, received early Jan, then 2 days ago seller wants a refund because the item is significantly not as described. he says the inlay paper is extensively stained (lol). game is a factory sealed japanese ps2 game, it is in fantastic condition with very minor scuffing on the seal. i should have kept it so i ask for photos, and he shows a tiny scuff on the seal, on the front, that's hard to see unless you look for it. obviously trying to get his money back and keep the game, or at least get a substantial refund and keep the game. sending a zoom photo and trying to make that little scuff spot look like a HUGE STAIN in the cover lol. anyway. I simply aswered the ebay case by saying that this is a minor scuffing and that it is visible in my auction photos anyway. so it can't be treated as significantly not as described. guy has an arab name and all positive feedback, from uk, 1500+ feedbacks. anybody dealt with a similar case, where a stupid scuff/minor thing is used as an excuse to get a refund? I'm terribly afraid ebay's stupid employees will just force me to refund. im still in time to provide a partial refund. i can also just refuse the return, but in that case ebay has the last word and they may force a refund, which is worse than a return.
  2. Sounds good, I'll probably get a small bottle of that. I'm still going to try a small corner with the basic hairdryer technique + finger work, just in case it actually comes off clean.
  3. Bestine seems engineered for concrete removal, I'm not sure it leaves a stain? Google led me to some other possibilities: "Adhesive Release" "un-du" A hairdryer is probably enough if the sticker is intact, which is not my case. I'm left with the battlefield after the sticker was taken off the host.
  4. I have a hard time believing there will be no damage to the paper with goo gone or any other chemical cocktail...? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3jKw_z3NQE&t=1m57s I have this insert which had an orange sample/not for sale sticker on the barcode. Previous owner or shop seller before him thought he'd go to jail or something, so he removed it like a boar. Good thing is, except for a small piece on the right side, it looks like the insert is actually pretty much undamaged. But there is sticker paper and glue residue all over the place. Anyone with experience removing this kind of residue? It's the cheap thin kind of sticker, they're designed in purpose to mess up everything if you try to remove them.
  5. It'll show up on eBay eventually, but for sure given the year, it must be pretty scarce. I had no idea New Bright made so many different car models - basic, pull-back, RC, and your funny revving model with a red light. I saw they had electric ones with wires attached from the car to the controller, I had forgot these even existed at one point. If you ever find it or find a photo of it, I'm curious to see how it looks with the accessory. The lever was a controller shaped like a red light? Or an actual red light standing on a pole? Did they car require batteries (I guess it did)?
  6. Is that doggo still sleeping near the cabinet?
  7. New Bright are still around, and they still use the same logo: They renewed their building a few years ago, and it looks like this now: New Bright car models are plentyful on eBay, you will find it one day lol I didn't find the same one, but this one from 1989 has a similar chassis https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1989-New-Bright-RC-28-Wireless-Radio-Control-Race-Car/323887514010
  8. those slightly titled pics are copied from all my wanna-be-looking-professional marketing powerpoints
  9. Why's the label so shiny, like covered in tape or a film? All the protos/samples I've seen on NES or Famicom had paper non-glossy labels on them. It smells of fake? Also, yeah, not showing the cart running is a big no-no. If you want that kind of money or general attention, show a screenshot of the software, that will make people flock to the auction

  13. if i saw that game on a shelf before reading this thread i wouldn't have picked it up even at 5$ now i can pick it up even at 200$ thanks
  14. Looks like one of those guys who try to use PayPal's buyer protection to get free service/product... and it worked. I once sold a 300+$ game on eBay. Packed in a large box with lots of padding as usual. Buyer claimed game arrived damaged. As a proof, he posted a 20*20 pixel photo of the corner of a game that looked similar. Obviously from Google Images or from another used copy he had. eBay sided with him and took my money including shipping. Months later, after several sellers kept complaining about the buyer, eBay refunded me without notice. I got lucky there. So yeah I agree with you... you're NEVER sure your money will stay, whether you sell on eBay or outside eBay with PayPal, if you sell using the "product or service" tab you can always get screwed by buyers who just try their luck. I think this happens more easily with US to US transactions?
  15. i had some hik with gold labels in brand new condition and couldn't even get 5$ each, had to sell a huge lot of carts to find someone who cared
  16. Burnout 3: Takedown, the preview lap that requires 3:50 for gold with the F-1 car. Infamously known for requiring a 100% perfect lap with full boost, no crashes and perfect trajectory to save time on each curve. (can still be done with a crash apparently, but you'll be very close to 3:50, maybe too close)

  18. Don't they test carts in production line? I think there's enough space in the cart port to accommodate that extra length, but I'm not sure. Insert it veeery slowly and stop if you feel resistance, which means you've reached the bottom. Probably worth 7.5$, not 75$ ?
  19. Or maybe nobody cares, but the seller has 25 copies and is trying to inflate prices because it's a common thing to do nowadays. (Especially with "limited edition" soundtracks, where 80% of the stock gets purchased by resellers and ends up on eBay 12 hours after item is out of stock from the publisher.)
  20. so sudden so crap, looks like one of the new owners got pissed and said "ok yeah really? u know what? ima unplug the whole thing right now!" good thing someone made this forum
