Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster is cleared After so many restarts on earlier versions and restarts early in the year I finally nailed down a party that worked for me in Final Fantasy I I actually feel like the early part of the game is harder, because it takes a lot to get your team up and running with costs of armor and magic being pretty high. Once I hit the mid game class change, I went on a tear and nothing could stop me. Even bosses fell in a couple turns. But dang, Chaos got a huge boost in the pixel remaster. He ate my lunch a couple times until I did a bit of leveling, but mostly I think it came down to luck as I just eek'd out a win out of what looked like defeat. I just started Tunic and Alan Wake 2, so I should be able to knock those out in the next month. Unless there is a surprise stealth drop of Silk Song or something, those two might close me out for the year.

I can’t believe they dumped the grilled chicken sandwich. I don’t remember what I got last time but it was pretty below par. At least they blue Fanta freeze is bomb.

Good but later entries did it better

Trip World DX is coming out. Never played the original, suppose to be something of a hidden gem. Might check that out.

Where are all these better options for interactive stories? Movies...not interactive. Book...not interactive, unless it is a choose your own adventure. Stop and start on a youtube video? c'mon

Got it on Black Friday from Kay Bee Toys in the mall. Lines were snaked around every aisle throughout the store. 3 hour wait to get to the checkout. Worth it for OoT.

Monsters and Muskets sounds like an epic title

Spiderman 2. Enjoyed it so much I did all the side stuff and 100% all the districts. I'm also maybe a quarter into Final Fantasy 1. I have the bad habit of restarting this game every time I play it. Maybe this will be the time I finish it this go around. Also unless there is a surprise drop release, most of my TBD 2023 are being delayed to 2024. At least that means I can laser focus on the rest.

TMNT Demension Shellshock

I’m in the same boat. Started out really strong with Sixth Sense and Unbreakable and just progressively got worse. Final straw was The Happening which was sold as this super violent the kids gloves are coming off R rated horror flick and turned into a huge joke. Got tired of the hype and misdirection, for such undercooked flicks. I do prob need to see Split and Glass at some point

I think the biggest hurdle is tone, because it varies wildly from game to game. You go too serious and dark and it is going to turn off a lot of casual movie goers. You go too goofy and hardcore fans are going to be livid. So it needs to somehow be both while honoring the legacy of the games.

keanu reeves is the narrator who is reading his princess loving daughter/granddaughter a bedtime story called “the legend of zelda” He keeps changing the details and tone of the story to make it more exciting. It goes back and forth between an edgy grimdark action revenge story like the matrix/John wick to a slacker comedy like Bill and Ted and the 80s animated series. The girl will call out when he starts going too off the rails with overly exaggerated versions of events. Lots of shifting animation styles and references to the various games both dark and cartoony as unique re-tellings of the “Legend.” (copy pasta from the other thread, still could do all the same type of things in live action)

It’s not for you and that is ok. You know every game that comes out is going to be somebody’s first. Going to be the first rpg for a lot of people, maybe the first Mario game for them too. How many kids saw that Mario movie and are going to be opening this Christmas morning and this is going to be their gateway to Mario and/or RPGs? Gotta learn to walk before you can run. On the flip side, Maybe there will be a hard mode or NG+ for seasoned fans.

I swear I had a SMW poster that said smb4 that I got from a Shell gas station as part of a promo. Though it could have been from an unofficial guide or magazine I got from the Shell station.
