  1. "Some kid" talk about disrespect
  2. Give the Switch port a try. Makes it so you don’t need motion controls for a lot of the basic functions and when motion controls are needed they work much much better. Galaxy is a great title that deserves another shot
  3. Lock it up. See y’all in the 2024 thread
  4. Time to add Portal to your backlog
  5. Started Sea of Stars, but it is a slow start. Visuals and music are a treat. @Jicsanthose cult of the flame missions
  6. You have a great backolg to add to I might be in the minority but I felt the open world really added to things (esp if you play Druid) rather than just endlessly running dungeons
  7. Dang I figured you were an air bender or a giant cat alien
  8. 2023 was a great year for gaming, maybe one of the best ever. There was no shortage of great games to come out all throughout the year. Let's wrap up 2023 with a top 10 list. I didn't play every game this year, so stuff like Balder's Gate 3 and Sea of Stars I just didn't get around to. Also I'm going to limit this to games that came out in 2023 mostly. #10 Resident Evil 4 Capcom is killing it lately with both the numbered Resident Evil and remake games. Of course 4 is considered one of the best of the series. I didn't get to into it back in the day because I was more into the spooky vibe of the older titles rather than action set pieces, but this remake gave me an excuse to give this one another game and it is fantastic. #9 Diablo 4 Diablo goes back to it's roots with the dark feel of the first game and a lot of the classes of the second game. It also has a decent story and a cool open world. This was easily the game I spent the most time with this year. It did seem like the end game was fairly lacking, in a game that is all about grinding gear, it really stops giving you new and exciting gear after level 60. #8 Like A Dragon: Ishin! I never really dived into the Yakuza series, but this change in a historical time period and new fight styles really made a lot more interested. It is Feservoir Dogs with swords, with lots of memorable characters and some wild side quests and distractions to do around town. Next best thing next to a trip to Japan. #7 Super Mario Wonder Mario is back in style. The wonder seed gives every level it's own gimmick. Being able to play this multiplayer really made this a joy to share with other people. Haven't beaten it yet so I will likely return to it in 2024. #6 Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons Nothing like a good Beat'em Up and you can't go wrong with the OG of them all, Double Dragon. Having access to a number of characters with their own style and the tag ability to use two characters at a time, made this addictive to unlock and play as them all. #5 Star Wars Jedi: Survivor I played Fallen Order and it's sequel this year. This really tossed together a lot of ideas and somehow worked as a Tomb Raidery Soul-like Metroidvania. Cal Kestis is a great protagonist, and the sequel really improved on things with even more lightsaber styles and customization options. Star Wars gets a lot of hate lately, but in Jedi:Survivor, it is a cool universe to explore. #4 Final Fantasy 16 Dark fantasy story with Devil May Cry stylish combat. Yeah I'll take it. Super slick epic Kaiju battles with classic summons. Yes please. Some pacing issues and run of the mill side quests, but the highs outweigh the lows. #3 Remnant 2 Of all the Dark Souls clones, Remnant really took the idea and added its own ideas to make it feel like a new thing. Fun gun-play, interesting other dimensions, and lots and lots of unique weapons and gear hidden away. Multiplayer is a blast too. #2 Spiderman 2 Built on the game and improved on it. Getting two spider-men with their own powers and the black suit in the mix was a lot of fun. Still the best traversal in any game. Even the side missions were entertaining and enjoyed 100%ing this game. Honorable Mentions: Avatar Frontiers of Pandora- The best looking game of this generation. A more laid back open world adventure on an alien world. Tunic - A bit zelda, a bit souls, where you find pages of an old school instruction manual to learn new moves and uncover secrets. TMNT: Dimension Shellshock- New characters, new unlocks, and a new mode. This DLC reminded me how much I loved the new Turtles game. #1 Zelda Tears of the Kingdom You had to have known this was coming. It took everything that Breath of the Wild did and improved on it. Story is more fleshed out, powers are more useful, there are actual dungeons, oh and both sky and underground maps too. The building and physics puzzles are a joy to noddle around with. Happy New Years y'all. Thanks for reading. See you in 2024.
  9. Fantastic animation, fun weapons and vehicles, cool stage gimmicks, non stop action. I gave it an 8 but that is just because I played X and 3 more due to their ports. But the original cannot be missed.
  10. It was just ok, more like a 90 min version of the 80s cartoon but with the visuals getting a big boost. There are some nice music cues and Jack Black seems to be having a blast. It isn’t a bad movie, just kind of bare bones. You could have had something else going on it the story, or fleshed out the characters more. If not that, then really punch up the comedy, get more jokes in there besides Mario falls down. You only have the nostalgia you bring with you. It is more interested in selling you on the Mario brand without adding much to it. I'll add that some of needle drops are kind of baffling. Why use a bunch of inappropriate pop songs when the score leans more on classic Mario and DK tracks? If the kids want to watch it, I'll rewatch it, but there were a lot better animated films this year.
  11. Funny enough my total for 2022 and 2023 was both 14 games I got a list of about 30 games I want to hit up next year, if I beat half of them that would still be a record for me. That might be easier said than done cause there are a lot of rpgs and more meaty games on there. 12. This. It’s so long and so slow. I like Jimmy Stewart, so someone convince me to sit down and finish this, please.
  13. CM Punk and Bayley Punk said his goal was to main event wrestle mania, so the easiest way to do that is winning the Rumble. There is already the setup for a hot fued with Rollins. That is assuming Rollins is still champion after facing Mcintyre. Cody will come close, but he will find another path to face Roman and finish his story. Either by winning Elimination Chamber or winning Priest's briefcase. Bayley has been around too long and is too good to not get a rumble win at some point. She is giving off more face vibes despite being the leader of a heel faction. Think her girl gang is going to kick her out, leading to her winning the rumble and challenging Sky for the belt. I'm not sure where that leaves Ripley, she has pretty much just been doing stuff with the men as the leader of Judgement Day. None of the women on RAW really feels on her level. Lynch has been doing everything but go after Ripley's title, that would be a big Mania match too.
  14. We all know the next Nintendo system is in the works, but we don't know that much about it yet, or do we? That's right it is guessing time. 9 questions for 9 points. Let's see who is clairvoyant.
  15. This sounds like something an out of touch boomer in marketing would say. Someone with no interest in actually making a quality game. I’d say the Mega Man games have some rough parts but are pretty fair. You know how many times I rented Mega Man 2? The clerk even told me, “You know you rented this 3 times, you must really like this game.” After all those rentals I asked for Mega Man 2 for my birthday, but got Mega Man 3 instead, cause that was the newer one. And I replayed and beat that one countless times. Would I have asked for it without those great rental experiences? Compare that with something like The Lion King, a great looking game based on the biggest movie of the year, should be a slam dunk. But overly frustrated rental due to inflated difficulty made it just not that fun to play and one I never ended up owning.
  16. Fighting Games - Cool characters, amazing animation. 9/10 times the gameplay doesn't click with me. Bomberman - Every bomberman game looks a generation behind the times. Still a total blast to play.
  17. Should comprise and make it a porn site only on weekends
  18. Cause it is 2023 and there are other alternatives
