  1. I'd very much like to, at some point. I'm in a cluster fuck of work to do lately because I have multiple deadlines coming up, but once this is behind me (somewhere in late October), I'll have the opportunity to take some night time to chill out (before another round of deadlines before the holidays, lol), so yes, I'll join in for some game night fun!
  2. Can't write a wrap up this week, but will take time to congrats @bertsampson for taking the win and earning the 2020 Shooter Charm! Also, a quick shout for all the great scores posted this week : @Tablew/chairs @Gaia Gensouki @guitarzombie (also welcome around!)@Bearcat-Doug @docile tapeworm @Richardhead Well done sirs!
  3. Legit offer : Take a pic of a Hooters' tab in the following week with a bourbon on it, and I pay you the whiskey drink.
  4. This was somehow the effect desired, haha! But indeed, read carefully it actually describes you guys as 'no bitches to point pressing' !
  5. First week of the special Halloween themed NES games, sponsored by @Richardhead ! Though the game was suppose to be spooky, It looks like the players weren't afraid one bit of it. A total of 6 competitors cleared the game this week, 3 of which maxed out the score given @BeaIank's fancy rules, in order of accomplishment : @bertsampson, @Bearcat-Doug and @Tablew/chairs, and then Richard came 10 points shy of maxing it (damn, this had to be on purpose!), followed by straight clearers, no point pressing bitches, @Jeevan (7445) and @8bitdontquit (7310). Higher in score (8220), but not reaching the final boss, @0xDEAFC0DE still offered a solid performance going all the way to stage 6, as well as regular rankers @NESfiend and @Gaia Gensouki with a stage 5 finish! See you all next week for the second Halloween installment, Zombie Nation, which will certainly account for much more weirdo spookiness! Oh, almost forgot... With a tie for first place this week, Doug the Bearcat is awarded the 2020 Beat Em Up Charm! Congratulations, you can have an extra beer at the Hooters on me, you deserved it pal, just like The Heartbreak Kid defeating Brett Hart at the Montreal Screwjob event!
  6. Hello humanoids, this is Pinbot talking, the Pinball Robot! We experienced interesting 93A80 second moments together, now time to tally the resulting facts. Congratulations to @Red, the only human exceeding my numerical capacities, superior in pinball competence to his peers. @0xDEAFC0DE is second in rank, with a score of 21FE206, displaying the most attractive identification name of all competitors. @8bitdontquitis not a bad ID too, in 3rd place with 151F968 points. @Bearcat-Dougdeserves merits for a 1117640 score, plus, he is an animal on par with humanoid at pinball. Under the 1000000 bar, still superior units :@Niciesdual brain performance of F74E78, and @bertsampson, half cyborg, half human, with BEB234. Extended mentions to the 10000000000000000000000 *beep!* binary club, in consequent order of productivity : @PII(6C82FC), @Gaia Gensouki (6326E4), @JamesRobot (5E6E2E, sexy name, plus your score rhymes to me, do we connect our circuits the evening next to tomorrow?), @NESfiend (5CB4F8) and, finally, @ninjistar (486250). Thanks everyone hearing this message, *shutting down CPU*.
  7. One sure good thing about this thread for me, is that even though it was clearly stated has having spoilers in it, my complete lack of knowledge of the subject at hand makes it impossible to spoil me anything.
  8. Talk about a Krazy week for the NES Weekly Kontest! Who got the best out of those Kreatures? @0xDEAFC0DE did, not only winning for a second week in a row, but also grabbing a second genre charm back to back! Kongrats to The Puzzler for winning the Puzzle Krown! Besides 0xDEAFC0DE, 5 other players managed to beat this week's game. Regular ranker @Gaia Gensouki gave a great performance this week with a score of 345,700 good for 2nd place, and the new sensation @Nicies Kame back to the Kompetition to earn the 3rd rank, for a second time in a row, with a score of 325,240! Kan Nicies beat the odds and earn top ranks week after week and qualify for a late tournament spot? Only time will tell, but this Kould be one of the most interesting story of the last leg of this regular season! Also Kompleting the game this week, @bertsampson in Kruise Kontrol got a score of 311,980, leaving @ninjistarslightly behind by 250 points, and @Jeevan, freshly knighted in the Events Team Round Table, finished with 272,790 points. Honorable mention to @NESfiend for Klaiming 7th spot with a score of 186,040, and to @8bitdontquit for a late score of 150,030 after struggling to make his Kart work, and also for his very fine choice of avatar! Thanks to everyone playing and participating in the Kontest, let's resume the fun with Pinbot, hmmmm K?
  9. I would need to find the old thread to be 100 % sure, but I do think that this was brought up in the discussion, which would be the only redeemable reason to forgive the choice of such a lame name.
  10. I always thought that Battle Kid was a totally lame name for a game. You got one of the best NES homebrew game made back then, and you just can't properly name it. Worst, I saw the whole thing unfolding in an old NA thread at the time, seeing everybody collectively agreeing that Battle Kid was a great name for this homebrew was a totally mind numbing moment for me.
  11. Nice to you here man! IIRC, you're making map of video games and host them on sites like GameFAQS? If I'm correct, thanks a bunch as I love using them!
  12. Get both Nicies and your bro in the contest for 2021! Thanks for the clarification, I should have re-read to be sure though. I wrote that up from memory, and got some facts blended!
  13. For this week, all participants had to dig out their 90's fluo colored snowboarding gear and get ready for some Heavy Shreddin on the icy mountains! The battle on the snow trails played out with a very narrow margin between first and second places. @NESfiend had a good shot to earn his first win in the NES Weekly Contest, and gave it all until the end by posting a 283,242 score, but the man with a computer brain was also snow riding like a champ. By grasping a little nuance on how scoring works in the game, @0xDEAFC0DE was able to maximize his runs and get a 284,772 score that NESfiend couldn't catch up. The tight battle between these snowboard gladiators was of great interest, and 0xDEAFC0DE can celebrate a well earned win, while NESfiend knows for sure the time will soon come that he'll taste victory! NESfiend was not only in the spotlight for 1st place battle, he also 'pulled a @Jeevan' and invited an outside player that could have been his worst nemesis under the circumstances. @Nicies, NESfiend's law firm's colleague and high profile modern gamer, put up a huge score of 256,130 in the middle of the week that held good for third place. Though the reappearance of Nicies in the contest is still incertain, we would all be blessed if some work buddies rivalry could take place in our friendly contest. Welcome aboard Nicies, and please, come back kick more asses Not so far away, @8bitdontquitshred his way to 4th place with a score of 231,984, which can also be interpreted as a warm up exercise with the year end tournament in mind. And then we have the members of the 100k club, @Gaia Gensouki coming 5th with 174,278, @Richardhead, AKA the man responsible for the hosting of a Heavy Shreddin contest, with 132,084 (who he self predicted his Monday single attempt to finish 5th, he got 6th, nice call!), and geral board leader @bertsampsontaking it easy with 100,278. Bert had a tiny lead of 1 point in the Sports genre leaderboard before this week, and guess who was sitting in 2nd place? This man was no other than 0DEAFxC0DE, which means that he not only got the win of the week, he also grabbed the NES Weekly Contest 2020 Sports Charms. Congratulations for this achievement, and something tells me that it won't be the only contest bling you'll win this year around!
  14. This is indeed the epitome of hypocrisy after blocking the nomination of Merrick Garland in 2016. The only difference is that Trump is ending his first term, but does it really matter?
  15. Am I accused of being a cinephile? Cause if it is the case, I have to plaid guilty!
  16. Indeed, Grant is absolutely amazing in His Girl Friday! I haven't watched Charade yet, thanks for mentioning it as it makes for a good reminder.
  17. My favorite Hitchcock movie is Vertigo, but North by Northwest is definitely a very close second. Brilliant plot, masterfully shot, fantastic acting, and special mention to Saul Bass excellent title sequence!
  18. Yeah Richie, you're not out of this yet, you have to play each horror games we picked for October because you suggested it, haha!
  19. Saw Casual Cart posted, wished for it to be another cool drawing, not deceived
  20. Wow, it made it looks like your avatar has been sponsored by some big corp or something. And here I am, still with my old ass pic of Luigi built in pixel blocks.
  21. Honestly I thought you were joking, lol! The score and area were easy to see on your picture, so that wasn't a big deal at all.
  22. Hey Folks! This is the time for a sweet random giveaway, showcasing @MeganJoanne's awesome cross-stitching talent! This week you get the chance to win a cross-stitch themed after the best game in the history of video games (including every future games yet to be released), starring Miria's spaceship form in The Guardian Legend : Here's the list of the eligible players for the lottery : 1 = @Gloves 2 = @CMR 3 = @Tablew/chairs 4 = @8bitdontquit 5 = @bertsampson 6 = @docile tapeworm 7 = @Jeevan 8 = @CasualCart 9 = @JamesRobot 10 = @mbd39 11 = @Jicsan 12 = @Ausden 13 = @Murray Congratulations to this week's winner, Douglas Glover, who will now also have the pleasure to own a cross-stitch of everybody's favorite shooter hero! Let's also celebrate the guilty pleasure of seeing number 1 getting randomly picked by a number generator, cause we can't help ourselves to think it is awkward when it is FACTUALLY NOT. Gloves, feel free to pm Megan about the shipping details, and thanks to everyone for rocking in the NES Weekly Contest!
  23. This week we had the pleasure to have the best game in the NES library that barely make sense for a contest, The Guardian Legend! Only one player completed the TGL mode this week, and it is with no surprise @Gloves, who won the shooter icon in his 2017 maiden year of participation in the contest. Despite making some very questionable remarks in his completed run post about the quality of this week's game, Doug proved again that he reigns supreme in the shooter elite club of VGS! Some valiant spaceship warriors showed up their skills for the occasion as well.@CMR returned to the contest with a strong second place going all up to the Area 9, followed closely by @Gaia Gensouki who saw his run ending at the Area 8. @Tablew/chairs posted 'some' run good for a 4th place finish, while @8bitdontquit kept strategically his distance from the blue coronavirus in order to survive and reach Area 16. Strong performances were expected from both The Human Cyborg @bertsampson and Third Place Prince @docile tapeworm, but it appears both gentlemen had other priorities for the week. Bert got 6th place with an Area 5 run, and Skinny behind him at Area 14. @Jeevan grabbed a low hanging 8th place with a still respectable Area 3 run, taking advantage of the 'highest score takes precedence rule' over VGS beloved artist @CasualCart. Thanks to everyone and take a well deserved break next week, before @Richardhead show you how to Heavy Shreddin!
