  1. That would be awesome is he on here or just NA? You mean the actual machine or the ad? Howard Phillips and Frank Cifaldi both have copies of the ad. And Howard says he demonstrated it for potential retailers so a prototype exists.
  2. Sewing machine never came out though. We just have the ad sheet Howard Phillips posted
  3. I think maybe you picked up the Hong Kong and Singapore region PSP. Check out this site. From what I've seen searching 1006, 2006 and 3006 are related. I'm supposing they're all updated hardware releases for that region. Here's the manual too, it's in English and Chinese.
  4. I've never owned a Laser Disc player but they are pretty cool. They predate VHS, correct? Do you collect Video Discs too?
  5. I personally use repro NES styrofoam and SNES cardboard inserts. I think if you're concerned about it you could put a marker or write REPRO on it like @DefaultGen said. They're both really important to have in the boxes. NES boxes can get bent on the top without the insert, and SNES boxes are all floppy and rattling inside without the insert. I think some modern video game innovations are better than the authentic ones. For instance box protectors are much cooler than NES hard cases in my opinion. And Nintendo 64 end labels are key to a successful shelf display.
  6. That's a good question, you're saying the time between the box print runs and the day they actually hit the shelves? I know while going through release dates of the earliest Genesis titles there were a few cover inserts that have the exact 1989 artwork style and 1989 copyright on the back but the internet says were actually released in January/February 1990. Those are Forgotten Worlds, Phantasy Star II and Zoom. I guess all kinds of logistical delays are possible? That led me to believe the copyright on the back of video games doesn't necessarily mean it was released in that year.
  7. It should be the same as what @Code Monkey said above. June 7, 1993 The first digit is the year: 7 = 1987 8 = 1988 9 = 1989 0 = 1990 1 = 1991 2 = 1992 3 = 1993 etc.

  10. Mine is 00418! Feels good to be rare lol. And it actually looks like it was printed over a previous code Edit: Previous code seems to be 00312 if you can't see in the compressed photo. Can somebody shed some light on why they'd print it one day, then reprint it? Was it too light the first time?
  11. I can post a bunch of box codes I have, you just want the codes no photos? Are you going to put the posted ones in the database yourself, or are we saving them to input ourselves when your website is live? Is it generally accepted that boxes, manuals, and chips were printed every day? Or are the codes really an indication of weekly/sparse print runs?
  12. 8”?? Lol I’ve heard of GameCube size discs, standard 5” discs, I’ve heard of 7” records, 10” records, and 12” records and laserdiscs. I’ve never seen an 8” before. I actually use laserdiscs for the cover art of my favorite movies. I hang them up in record album frames.
  13. I think Joe Santulli did do Room of Doom, it seems to be part of his Collector’s Closet column back in the early 2000s. @final fight cd are you trying to get in touch with Joe? He’s on the Digital Press forum. I live close to the Digital Press store but he’s rarely there except for the Black Friday sales.
  14. They also had those Permastruct Instructions. I don't remember them as a kid, but I see a bunch of them now. Here's a couple I found online. Does anybody collect these? Or have a list of what titles they actually wrote up manuals for?
  15. This guy has a great list that I bookmarked, I'm not sure who he is or if he's on here Edit: If you sort by UPC they are in chronological order
  16. I found this very informative! Only 15 min left. Do you have a YouTube or only podcasts?
  17. Yeah this Zelda Site says 1.0 and 1.1 have the chant but it was taken out in 1.2. It lists a few other revisions too including Ganon's blood being changed to green instead of red. It also says all Gold cartridges are 1.0 or 1.1, and all Player's Choice are 1.2.
  18. Yeah I haven't had a problem on eBay getting a repro when it wasn't expected except two different Genesis carts I didn't see the 16-Bit written on the back instead of Sega. I thought this Excitebike box might have been a repro when it first came in the mail because it looked off to me. But after checking the Wata black box guide it's just one of the latest variants from 89-90, so maybe I'm not used to it. You can see in the back where they collaged the "This official seal... " text, there's a faint line around it and other areas they collaged.
  19. I’d love to hear more about your experiences at JJ Games! I used to get a bunch of items from them. Where did they usually get their stock, buying out rental stores and such? Does JJ Hendricks have a huge personal collection?
  20. Maybe you were thinking of this Moonwalker Poster that was for sale? The certificate of authenticity says it’s from 2001. That’s all I found with a search
  21. Repro boxes are fairly common, you can buy them for $12 each on eBay. But they are usually easy to tell the difference in person. The cardboard is slightly thicker, the coat is shinier, and the printing is not as sharp next to a legit copy. I also have a SNES repro box that apparently already got sun faded on the side facing out and is eggplant color instead of black
  22. The original release of Ocarina of Time has what people call Islamic Chants during the fire temple. It sounds like they mixed phrases from a recitation of the Qur’an chapter 112 Al-Ikhlas with the Athan (Call to Prayer) and added heavy reverb to make it very airy and echoey. It was taken out of later revisions!
  23. That is pretty cool, and I know what you mean about ordering from old catalogs lol. I heard it was $5? That’s weird, and it wasn’t the whole set, only the best 50 cards?
  24. Just added these! The Collector's Cards do you mean the set with the gold foil stamp that you could buy from Nintendo Power for $5? I wasn't planning on putting each one up since they're mostly the same as the regular set. Do you have the set yourself, or you have some good pics of them from online?
