  1. The Legend of Kage (which I pronounce kayge, fight me) is a guilty pleasure of mine. I loved this game when I was a kid.
  2. The quantity of « good » in FF6 and BoF2 is different, that much is true.
  3. I went back Bubble Bobble is in great shape. The cart especially. Rockin’ Kats has more wear, the top flaps are fuzzy and one corner of the label has peeled but the price was hella right. price paid: 415$ CAD expected value: 599$ CAD (based on VGPC) gains: 184$ CAD
  4. Another week, another neighborhood, another find. I stumbled into a pawn shop between store visits for work last Monday and I couldn’t believe my eyes. They had a whole counter filled with dank CIB NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 games! Apparently a heartbroken and very pissed off woman had taken in a huge collection after a bad breakup. I’m still searching my local facebook collector s groups for posts about an ex taking a dude’s collection, just to see. I was a bit short on cash so I didn’t get everything I wanted but I’m definitely going back asap. Anyways it seems they’ve had this for some months and they were more eager to cut some deals and I paid 145$CAD for these two bad boy. price paid: 145$ CAD expected value: 233$ CAD gains: 88$ CAD
  5. Ah I completely forgot to mention The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.
  6. Raze’s Hell Panzer Dragoon Orta Bloody Roar Extreme (actually a renamed port of the GameCube’s Bloody Roar)
  7. Burning hot take right there! I tend to agree that it was overrated, but I did enjoy the game for what it is. I killed and spared enemies based on feels, and I resent having to play any game 2-3 times to experience the whole thing. I was definitely enchanted by the battles, the graphics, the music and the overall mood of the game. I think the game hit the hardest a demographic that wasn’t the usual retro-JRPG crowd and that’s why it blew up like that. PS: I can’t stand Earthbound.
  8. Beat Super Metroid for the second time ever. 7 hours, 77%
  9. Really! I thought it was great, and definitely in tune with SMW’s
  10. Really is that a thing? I _just_ got done testing a 90 in 1 that has games by Hwang Shinwei and I thought it was interesting. Never had one before.
  11. Some of my main passions are the 3DO, Atari Lynx (who SHOULD have a Frogger game, wtf) and the Wii. Those are 3 systems that, when brought up, very often have people talking in broad generalities that reveal a serious lack of knowledge and interest lol. So yeah, to each their own and that’s fine. edit: great topic man
  12. Sure they went on to do that, but this is this is to show Crash Bandicoot is the game that came directly after Way of the Warrior. Stinker, classic.
  13. Seriously? I thought Rad Racer was pretty solid. Ladies and gents allow me to present the most unholy champion of this caregory: Naughty Dog. From a half-playable MK clone featuring staff, friends and roommates dressed up with stuff they found in their parents’ wardrobes. On a failed system (and the game is like the 3rd of 4th best fighter on the system but that’s a differ conversation) To a beloved classic that we still recognize to this day, and which remained entirely enjoyable almost 30 years after its release.
  14. Everyone makes compelling arguments. I don’t have the experience some of you have with the GBC or Wii U so I will say that the DS 1st party lineup is the one I prefer the least. I don’t care much for the remakes of SM64 and DK Racing. Especially the latter. The two Zelda games turned me right off with forced touch screen controls. Wild World I find is the most forgettable entry in the AC series. (Also it comes just before New Leaf wich made a huge impression on me). Not a fan of Mario RPGs that aren’t on SNES. And the DS’ 3rd party support in this category is absolutely stellar. Metroid Pinball is 100% awesome tho I come back to it many times a year. So for my personal tastes the DS’ first party line up has more misses than hits.
  15. I managed to buy 10+ Atari Lynx games without ebay so that was satisfying. And many Wii, DS and 3DS games that I actually play. But my favorite is this CIB Gun.Smoke, an absolute childhood classic of mine.
  16. @Galdiussweet Wii games there! Dragon Ball and Target: Terror both solid titles. Just in: The Simpsons on Wii and Cooking Mama World Kitchen for lighthearted fun. And I got lucky with some Lynx games sold in my province, I was able to have them shipped flat in an envelope for sweet savings. That’s Lynx games 48&49 /71 for the set.
  17. Scored some late 2022 loot hitting two pawn shops this week. Got them 3 Wii titles at the first location where they basically do $4 on everything that says $10. The Simpsons is going straight into my collection. I’ve been looking for a cheap copy for a long time, so now I’m actually paying negative money for it The NES titles and 3DS Ocarina come from another location that somehow manages to stock NES stuff regularly. The pricetags were already below pricecharting and they still cut me a bundle deal. I’m a nostalgic sucker for NES multicarts so I’m excited to pop that one in and see which titles are on there, even if it’s probably the usual stuff. Total paid: $71CAD Expected value (excluding The Simpsons): $165CAD gains: $94 + 1 game!
  18. That’s what I believe too. They get to hold on to so much capital at once that these tricks they pull is entirely worth it to them. Now imagine for a second that you sell and ship a 700$ item, funds are held and the buyer opens a dispute claiming they received a box of tissues instead. How fucking screwed are you.
  19. I have had to deal twice now in as many weeks with ebay holding my funds until confirmation of delivery. First time the customer service rep told me that it was because the transaction was considered « at risk » since it was upwards of 500$. And that the holds could be even longer if the sale hit the 1k$ threshold. This weeks I auctioned off a New 3DS XL and it went for 295$ and tada! Funds held until confirmation. I spent an hour over the chat with a customer service rep who couldn’t even begin to explain why this happens and how to avoid it in the future other than in super broad terms that ebay’s system automatically detects which transactions are « out of the seller’s usual selling pattern » and that « as the seller applies the best selling practices there should be less holds as time passes ». He said there are no specific parameters, which directly contradicts the information I received from the first agent. Jesus fucking hell I have 900 items listed, adding as many as I sell every week and they are ALL video games and video game related items. Many of which are well above 200$. And the holds only started last week. Apparently this is all related to the performance and behavior of the seller account, but I can’t be informed what the performance criteria and what the behavior needs to be. wtf ebay.
  20. Voted 9. I would agree that it is objectively the best SNES title. And definitely top 2 or 3 in the LoZ series. Only thing keeping me from voting a 10 is that isn’t one of my favorite games, personally.
