  1. To oppose this, they give free beer regularly so might not actually get ripped lol
  2. And there aren’t many people I can tell, so I’m telling you, sages. I am leaving a position as a sales rep for a plastic bag company. Our clients are produce farmers and packers. Mostly potatoes and carrots. The Canadians among us have seen vegetables packed in our bags at some point I guarantee it. I don't know if it’s the effects of Covid or what, but demand has exploded and our factory’s capacity has been going down. Weird times for a rep; can’t do visits, can’t get new business and we are actually talking about letting clients go. The phone calls and messages from clients asking when they’ll receive bags are incessant. I can never give a proper answer and I have 0 confidence in ETAs I gave people. Lots of political answers and lies. I have woken up with a cold ball of ice in my stomach everyday since September. So now I quit. I got a job as a « merchandising specialist » for Labatt Breweries. Fancy title for « guy who stacks the cases of beer once they are delivered ». Nothing as exciting as managing accounts, but it will certainly be a breath of fresh air to not have all that stress in my life all the time. Getting a new job was a new year’s resolution, so I guess I achieved this one rather quick!
  3. In JRPG dungeons, which are essentially the equivalent of a stage: the boss The whole dungeon is a build-up to get to the boss. The boss itself will be unique and much more epic than whatever critters I was auto-attacking until I got there. Fighting it is its own reward. Hey maybe this applies to average beat ‘em ups also. In most any other genres: the stages Even if a game is boss-oriented like Mega Man, getting through TO the boss is what I prefer. The fact that the bosses have weaknesses to exploit for easy kills really works for me because I prefer not to sit there and commit their patterns to muscle-memory.
  4. Never played but keep meaning to. Warcraft III pls!
  5. EDIT: This thread got song stuck in my head. Baby shark was a hit with my two older sons who are now 7 and 6 but of course they outgrew it. Yeah we had to sing and do the shark arms/hands and all that. I have a 1 year old who will eventually be exposed to whatever popular kids thing comes next, and I’ll sing whatever he likes cause that’s what parents do lol.
  6. like the title says. looking for someone to help me legitimize my ebay sales and get all my things done squarely I’m in Quebec and looking for referrals from here please
  7. Yes and yes imo XD nah I really don’t care about other people’s old save files. However, I do have a kink for the GameCube Animal Crossing memory cards. It’s a weird experience to load up some long forgotten village and romp around and have the villagers react to me. And kids usually put a lot of thought in arranging their homes and what not so it’s like taking a trip inside the brain of a 12 year old that has now outgrown all of this.
  8. Ahhhhh Vandal Hearts! If that makes sense, Vandal Hearts is like the arcade version and FFT is the simulation. The latter’s job system is much more complex. So much so that I can’t get into it. Whenever these systems become too involved, I feel like I’m fucking up and making bad character progression all the time and that’s an unpleasant feeling for me. But Vandal Hearts nails it. There aren’t that many combinations so you could just try every possibility in just 2 playthroughs. And the game is short enough that it isn’t daunting to do that. Why?? Dont you like HAVING ENEMIES MOVE OUT OF ATTACKING RANGE BECAUSE TURNS ARE SIMULTANEOUS AND EVERYTHING IS JUST ONE BIG FUCKING GUESSING GAME?!? No? Me neither edit: 9/10 yeah Everyone should play it.
  9. 8! I love Rad Racer but of course it doesn’t deserve a better score.
  10. Guys guys guys. DSEMBER!!!! ok that said, I ran through Chrono Trigger as promised. Unlocked all endings and everything. https://i.imgur.com/1L5Has3.mp4
  11. I am afraid I did not take part in this Secret Santa, but thank you guys for thinking I’d be that person! There’s always next year.
  12. I can’t answer because my pick for singular is too damn hard. Frank Grimes or Hank Scorpio.
  13. We don’t talk about the 3DO or Atari Lynx much, but they’re my fetish consoles.
  14. No because Mario and Luigi's magical fireballs are cast, not shot from a weapon Jokes aside, SMB's core focus is running and jumping. You needn't shoot a single projectile to get through the entire game. Can't say that about Contra.
  15. what a journey! It's a miracle the game showed up at all
  16. Yeah you copy/pasted 1 dude's answer from a Q&A Forum from 5 years ago. I hate to say it, but it isn't a reliable source. edit: Is Tetris an arcade game? edit2: is Arkanoid not an arcade game?
  17. Old school? Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on SNES. It's basically a super easy version of Ninja Warriors. OR Mighty Morphing Power Rangers The Fighting Edition. (Thanks @Reed Rothchild for informing me this was a re-skin of a Gundam fighting game, which are mostly all awesome) I remember not liking "The Movie" much. Is this the one where your attacks don't really combo? If my memory is right I thought that was dumb and made things more boring. If you're into Fighting Games, Battle for the Grid is extremely solid. The controls are easy enough to master but the AI will still kick your ass if you don't actually git gud.
  18. Well then. If your Barbarian speaks, you should... ... Stay a while and listen.
  19. I knew it. Every time one cites Wikipedia, one gets reminded that it isn't 100% reliable. We weren't agreeing on semantics so I thought Wikipedia would be a decent mediator in this situation. Because this is a light-hearted discussion about fun games we like to play. It looks like the disagreement persists, so I'll keep on believing that games where one shoots a weapon fall under the category of "shooter" somehow.
  20. Still on Diablo III. I had never played adventure mode and now I can't get enough. Quick missions and epic loot.
  21. They certainly contain shooting. I would never argue that they aren't shooters. They're "Run and gun", mostly. Wikipedia defines "Shoot em ups" as the main genre encompassing all types of shooting games, and Run and Gun type is classified under the "Scrolling shooters" category. Run 'n' gun or run and gun games have protagonists that fight on foot, often with the ability to jump. Examples include Commando, Ikari Warriors, Contra, Metal Slug and Cuphead. Run-and-gun games may use side scrolling, vertical scrolling or isometric viewpoints and may feature multidirectional movement.[26][27][28]
  22. No. Every game is a rythm game. You press the buttons in sync with the action happening on screen.
  23. I call Galaga a shmup without hesitation. Now I would think Jackal is a shmup, but then that would also make Commando, Ikari Warriors, Heavy Barrel and maybe even Smash TV. All overhead shooters. Paperboy tho? Nah that's just "arcade"
