Yeah I think it got re-released around 5 years ago as Crazyland: The Ride of Your Life, or something along those lines.

Trolls in Crazyland, Crisis Force, Gradius II, Samurai Pizza Cats, Ghostbusters 2, Hammerin’ Harry, Kid Dracula, Mitsume ga Tooru are some of the better non-NTSC NES games I’ve played and really enjoyed them all.

We start putting the decorations and tree up the last weekend in November, but don't religiously turn all the lights/decorations on every night until Dec 1st.

My latest finish is Pugsley’s Scavenger Hunt the NES version. It’s decent, but nothing I’d recommend.

It’s definitely Double Dragon V, no question.... jk I’m partial to Double Dragon III. It has one of the best OSTs in the NES library IMO, the cyclone kick felt a bit more fluent to execute, and the addition of Chin & Ranzou was a nice touch.

Good point. Having only a handful of 7s, one 8, one 9, and zero 10s out of the entire set does make the old formula seem a bit off.

Great stuff @ThePhleo! thanks for sharing. It does seem that Flintstones Dino Peak is a bit less common than the other R9s. IIRC I think it was the only “8” on the old NA database in the NES licensed NTSC library?

I didn’t join NA until late 2016 IIRC and I only had a couple transactions. Nothing to speak of. Never got a lucky to score a blockbuster deal on eBay. I’ve also never been much of a garage saler (or Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc) so I got nothing there either. I did buy around 60 or so games from my local Funcoland in the mid-to-late 90s, so my best pickups to speak of would be getting Snow Brothers, Contra Force, & Ninja Gaiden III all for a few dollars each.

I echo/agree with a lot of what’s already been mentioned. Late Capcom games are excellent. They lack the popularity and nostalgia bias that many of the games released during the height of the NES days have... however they all overall excel in graphics, music, and most importantly, gameplay. Rescue Rangers 2 is good, it’s not great, but really neither is RR1 (IMO). RR1 might be slightly better, but 2 isn’t far off. Mega Man 6 is a great game. A lot of people are especially blinded by nostalgia bias towards MM2 & MM3 (I understand why) but really 4-6 are every bit as good. Ducktales 2 is every bit as good as the first game, if not slightly better. I consider Gargoyles Quest II to be a NES masterpiece. Darkwing Duck is great. Has the core feel & gameplay as of the Mega Mans, with a splice of its own original weapons & gameplay features. Mighty Final Fight is a good NES beat em up.

AFAIK the only possible way to no-death Ninja Gaiden III (or specifically, beat the timer in Act 7) is to grab the Invincible Fire Wheel sub-weapon in 7-1 and use it throughout the entire act, up until the bosses. I've no-death'd it twice and both times I had under 15 seconds left on the timer.

I wasn't able to watch, but I was checking the box score periodically. It sounded rough. OSU didn't get their first score until over seven minutes into the game?! Woof.. It looked like Cincy was handling them in the 1st half, but OSU came back. Tough loss for the Bearcats. It seems there have been quite a few rough games in CBB shooting-wise so far. Both Champions Classic games were rough.. I'm not a fan of them moving the 3pt line back over a foot.

True yeah that was a really tough blow... I remember watching some of the FLA game. They had a nice lead late in the 2nd half that they let get away. Really all their remaining games are winnable. Louisville will be tough, but it looks like that is a home game for UK.

I recently beat Mitsume ga Tooru on the NES (FC). Fun little platformer that never got released outside of Japan. Natsume never disappoints!

They've seemingly turned the corner towards at least being a respectable program the last few years. Had a nice season last year. Benny Snell was fun to watch. They should at least get to a bowl game again this year.

I don't mind rooting for UK in football. But basketball.. no thanks.

^Agree here. 8-2 is no fun if you lose your weapon. 8-3 took me a million tries on the end sequence with the bats & falling platforms before I finally got it down pat. I'll throw in Battletoads, particularly the Terra Tubes, Rat Race & Clinger Winger. The waterfall stage in Werewolf: The Last Warrior is a pretty big PITA too.

Thanks... It was a typical Izzo/MSU performance in an early season big game: couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, dumb turnovers, too many fouls. This is MSU's 4th straight loss in the Champions Classic, and they're 3-6 since this thing started.. Pretty frustrating. Big game for you guys tonight vs the Buckeyes. Best of luck!

I'm a pretty big college FB & BB fan. Michigan State is my #1 team. They got Kentucky tonight in the Champions Classic. It'd be nice to see them win, and not lose their 4th straight in this classic. I'm not holding my breathe on it. MSU football is trash this year. I think (and hope) D'Antonio is done... Cincy is having a good year. I see their AD is leaving for USC. You think Luke Fickell will stick around? I wouldn't mind MSU taking him off your hands.

I’ve got nothing worldly or high level. I never got into speed-running or high score. On a personal level, I do pursue no-death runs and my count is currently at 91 NES games done. That’s deathless, warpless, no cheats, and done on original hardware with an OG controller.

Here are mine from this year. I usually carve 8-10 per year. My uncle did the Welcome Cave pattern.

All of the above. All the consoles my brothers and I had back in the day moved all over the house throughout the years. The NES was the first console we had in our household and it started in the family room IIRC.
