Probably busy with dealing with his identity being blown. -
Excuse me, meaningless VGS charms are all the clout some of us can muster.

Glad the entire community, from cart collectors to sealed, from casual Nintendo garage salers to hardcore everything completionists came together and agreed on one thing at least -

Was this posted somewhere yet https://sethabramson.substack.com/p/breaking-news-national-video-game?justPublished=true I’m on the edge of my seat that we might find out who this mysterious “Bronty” character is if we just keep digging. -

Karl has Notch of all people paying his lawyer's bills for a BS suit against him, so a lawsuit would be like a years worth of Wata content for him probably. I mean, I'd sure rather him do a follow up though. -

Did Karl actually say Jim Halperin bought the $100k Mario off HA listing? Because obviously that game was never listed on HA. RGT 85 made the same mistake in his video, not that I think RGT 85 actually cares about the situation. Minor inaccuracies like this that get added to the story as it telephones through the internet make it easier to rebut any legit claims by just focusing on the actual BS. Jim certainly made a press release pumping his own purchase, but he wasn't listing and buying his own game from his own platform. -
Yeah the person who won it reached out to me. They are happy with the price they paid! I wish I had the money personally! The market is all over the place and there are niche deals to be had, but every purchase I make now is so targeted at stretching my dollar the furthest long term and Video Life just isn’t getting 3300 of those dollars.

Oh boy. Not looking to insert myself into internet drama, but I'm the blacked out name on Discord. I sure didn't ask Karl to black me out like a mystery informant. Karl asked on Twitter one night if anyone knew anything about game collecting could join his Discord to talk about recent sales. Karl makes good videos, so I helped him understand a bit because he was literally at square zero (not recognizing for example that two games can be apart by $100k because on is players choice). He was hung up on Jeff and Dain being on the Wata SEC filing, which IIRC definitely came up on NintendoAge, but I obviously don't know the inner workings of Wata so I offered to try to put him in touch with Deniz, who ultimately decided not to reach out. Karl didn't attempt further himself, although I hope there's a follow up video if some of the players are willing to be interviewed. I wasn't involved in any part of part of the video's content besides some talking with Karl about understanding some crazy sales on Heritage. -
Nah he's a collector from the olden days. Maybe just something with him. Sucks to not win it. In other news Atari is dead. I should set a saved search for Air Raid and Red Sea Crossing and start waiting for the owners to sell their Earthly possessions and move to retirement homes.

Anyone know anyone that was bidding on this Video Life? Gixen screwed my buddy out of a bid on it with an eligibility error (much higher than the end price). IMO it went super low considering a loose Air Raid just sold for $10k ($3300 for future Googlers). Technical issue? I'm overestimating interest in high end boomer shit? No cares about Atari, who would pay $3k for any Atari cartridge Tyler? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Video-Life-/174896860288

Star Trek TOS, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I dunno if they’re actually the best, but all of them I’ve watched through the entire series multiple times so that says something.

Got my Yoshi's Cookie Kuruppon Oven de Cookie First auction on YAJ was BIN'd for a ridiculous price during a bidding war in the last minutes of the auction and not paid for. The second auction was shilled up to my exact max bid with a retracted bid (which was $100s less than my original high bid for the exact reason that I no longer trusted the seller, lol). But it's legit and it's in my house, so I'm still happy. Rare Nintendo tapes!

Most graded copies you see were probably bought off Ebay a year or two ago for $25 and shipped in bubble mailers, not from cases. The easiest way to get in on the Wata gold rush has been to just buy out everything on Ebay and send it in. Who is paying $1k for them, no idea. -

Karl would get banned from NintendoAge so hard -
Check out this 20,000,000 sold promo Donkey Kong Game & Watch. I was willing to go pretty big on it but not 1m JPY ($9100). I couldn’t find any info on it but it looks awesome. There’s a similar green 20m promo G&W console but I’d rather have a DK personally https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v1000826284

Wata's # background score color red
DefaultGen replied to AnimalHouse's topic in General Collecting Discussion
I mean that’s the only thing I can think of but doesn’t that hurt their long term business with a solution to a temporary problem? And 6.5 is such a weird cut off. 9.4 is when games start getting really nice. 9.0 is the nice psychological boundary people want to hit. Are we gonna have people showing off submissions in 5 years “Aw yeah, got that 6.5 B, blue label!!” -
Wata's # background score color red

Of all the things they could differentiate with color: IMPs, CIB, individual components of sets, they choose to give the finger to low grade stuff? -
Sonic 2 maybe. I really wasn't beating much of anything as a kid besides maybe some kids PC game I can't remember because I sucked and had no patience. On Genesis I also remember beating Taz in Escape from Mars, Mean Bean Machine, Sonic Spinball, X-Men 2, Vectorman, and Blaster Master 2 as a kid.
-
They’re my two favorite games. I’d say OOT, probably purely nostalgia at this point. I used to play through OOT more, now I play through Mario 64 more since you can beat it in an afternoon and it’s a joy start to finish with no BS.

Any contractor willing to work on the Death Star knew the risks. If they were killed, it was their own fault. -

9/10 for me. I can’t believe we blew up a Death Star twice in the same trilogy. -
