  1. “We turned down 1.2 million from someone in Norway,” Diebold said. He said that after paying taxes on that amount, splitting the remainder 50-50 with his son, and paying off all his outstanding debts, he would “pretty much end up with nothing.” Hopefully Terry isn't going to debtor's prison if this doesn't meet his expectations.
  2. Oh damn, you're right. The Pirate Pimp lied to me. Thanks.
  3. I wanted to get pictures of literally everything in these lists before posting it but quickly realized how much of a hassle that would be (it was a hassle to even format this). This is going to be more of a slowly update over time thread. Hopefully this helps anyone with something related to Xbox.
  4. DVD Movie Demo Set Certain DVD movies came with Xbox demos you could play on Xbox Doom (Unrated Widescreen Edition) - (Doom 3) Hulk (Special Edition) - (Hulk) King Arthur - The Director's Cut (Widescreen Edition) - (King Arthur) Robots (Widescreen Edition) - (Robots) Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc) - (Battlefront) Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume One - (Battlefront) Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume Two - (Battlefront II) Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (Widescreen Edition) - (Battlefront II) The Chronicles of Riddick (Widescreen Unrated Director's Cut) - (Chronicles of Riddick) Van Helsing (Widescreen Edition) - (Van Helsing) Demos Some of these were pre-order bonuses. There are probably more, because some I’ve only ever seen once. These are NOT the OXM demo discs. Most of these came in disc-sized cardboard sleeves, some came in long cardboard sleeves, some came in DVD cases. I don’t have a 100% complete list. I know 1.0-1.4, 2.0-2.5, 3.0-3.6, and 4.0-4.5. There is also a Not For Sale Tecmo Demo Disc, possibly another kiosk disk? This is far from my area of expertise. OXM Demos Official Xbox Magazine 1-64 have OGX demo discs. These come in cardboard sleeves or slimline DVD cases. At some point (#58?) they switched over to plain white sleeves, correct me if I’m wrong. None of them are really uncommon, but you don’t see the very earliest ones quite as often IMO. Did these come with the game? Major League Baseball 2k6 comes with a pack of ? out of 11 cards. NBA Ballers has a variant that comes with a Stephon Marbury trading card The Hobbit comes with 1 of 4 different trading cards Yu-Gi-Oh Dawn of Destiny comes with 3 cards, all in the same box. Xbox Live Arcade disc/bundle variants These are the XBLA discs that didn't fit above. Xbox Live Arcade Xbox Live Starter Kit Xbox Live Starter Kit: Outrun 2 / MechAssault 2 Xbox Live Starter Kit: Tetris Worlds Xbox Live Starter Kit: Whacked / MotoGP Pre-orders and Bonus Things Some of these are multiplatform bonuses. I am far from an expert again and likely tons of multiplatform omissions. I don’t have any soundtracks either, so I know there’s like an NHL Rivals 2004 soundtrack that might’ve been a preorder bonus but I just don’t know. The Halo "T" display box comes with the Xbox Retailer Reference Guide, which is fantastically rare. Microsoft Company Store Purchase Games These are common and cheap and maybe fun to collect? You can see them on either the case or the shrink wrap. There are definitely at least a couple of non-variants on this list. I believe every NBA Live 2003 and RLH had a soundtrack for example. Will need to remove these. The 50 Cent preorder vest is the same as the PS2 version Driver Parallel Lines has a black sticker covering the “Only on Xbox” badge. Some copies exist without this sticker. It wouldn’t be hard to “fake” this variant, but it’s technically a variant. Rental Variants (Very WIP) Pay attention to any black cases you find in the wild and don’t immediately replace them with green ones, they might be correct. There are numerous exclusive inserts for Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Rental inserts often have pre-release box art different from the release art. This is not my expertise, there are MANY more than this. Super_nintender on Instagram is the man with these. GTA3 and VC are the most interesting IMO because they otherwise don’t exist as individual releases. Consider this a sampling rather than a checklist. 50 Cent: Bulletproof (Less angry 50 Cent) Blitz: The League (No XBL banner, center guy has hair) Conflict: Vietnam (Slightly zoomed out) Dead or Alive: Ultimate (Single disc Blockbuster case, Ryu on right) Dead or Alive: Ultimate (Single disc Hollywood Video case, Ryu on left) Grand Theft Auto III (Individual Blockbuster case, “PS2” style art) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (Individual Blockbuster case, “PS2” style art) Halo 2 (Darker, zoomed in art) Showdown: Legends of Wrestling (Green eyes Hulk) Spongebob Squarepants: Lights Camera Pants (Logo changes) Tony Hawk's Project 8 (Skater missing from background)

I swear I’ve seen an ancient blurry picture of it but can’t find it now. It comes with a t-shirt. Not sure why Amped is a Limited Edition, it’s just a minor insert variant AFAIK (Edit: Almost positive this was a Canadian pack-in) Star Wars Starfighter: Special Edition is the only version of the game on OGX so it’s omitted The Counter-Strike insert appears to be a limited edition of 25,000 and was obtained separately Big Box Peripheral Bundles Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX (Big Box w/Dance Controller) Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX (Big Box w/Dance Controller, Platinum Hits) Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX 2 (Big Box w/Dance Controller) Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX 3 (Big Box w/Dance Controller) Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX 4 (Big Box w/Dance Controller) Pump it Up: Exceed (Big box w/Dance Controller) Real World Golf (GameTrak Bundle) Steel Battalion (with vertical tank controller) Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Headset Bundle) Notes: Steel Battalion only came in a big box and has two variants (green and blue buttons). Fun fact: the sealed game inside the big box has a hangtab for no reason. House of the Dead III had no gun bundle weirdly enough. There was a Mad Catz Blaster branded with HOTD3 sold separately. Silent Scope Light Rifle doesn't actually include the Silent Scope Complete game.

Unreal Championship Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions WWE RAW WWE WrestleMania 21 X-Men Legends Notes: NBA Ballers is the rarest confirmed PH now with only a couple copies in collector's hands as of this edit. GTA Double Pack is extremely rare. It has a sticker on the front of the box, silver cases inside, and PH discs. There are two variants, one with PH discs, one with black label discs (BUT with the PH code on the discs). 50 Cent Bulletproof, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, and Spongebob: Lights Camera Pants are some other sought after PH games. Halo 2 PH was a late release (2008) that usually comes in a unique semi-transparent gray case rather than the normal silver one. There are a number of sticker variants with a “Now available as a Platinum Hit!” (or similar) sticker. Notably Mortal Kombat: Deception which otherwise doesn’t have a confirmed PH release. There's also "Now a Super Platinum Hits" sticker on some titles. There is a “shiny” cover variant to Enter the Matrix and a matte variant. There is a Promotional Copy Not For Resale varaint of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance PH. Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is rumored to exist, in which case it would likely be the rarest PH. Atari Anthology, Goldeneye Rogue Agent, Blitz: The League, Max Payne 2, Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Black, Star Wars Jedi Starfighter, The Godfather, and Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, are all games I’ve pulled off PH lists. If you have proof one of them exists, please post it. I’m pretty sure all of these are garbage info from Wikipedia but please post ‘em if you’ve got ‘em. I've heard things like Harry Potter QWC is "confirmed but not found", confirmed by who?? 8. Edit Nov 2020: These lists are pretty good besides the variant lists which should only be used for reference, but I can't keep on top of OG Xbox as going to the void on this console was never my goal. I will only update these lists if an entirely new game is found (or PH variant). Hopefully this is still useful the casual Xbox collector who needs some decent lists. Guys like Super Nintender and The Pirate Pimp are staying on the cutting edge, I suggest following their websites/social media. --- Organized Xbox collecting info is kind of bad. In this thread I’m compiling some of my Xbox lists to hopefully help anyone interested in this and doesn’t want one of these “full set” lists floating around that combine parts of below info into one, big, incomplete list. I’m an Xbox journeyman at best, and there are few true Xbox collecting experts (just because there’s still so much unknown/undocumented) but I’m doing my best here. Please feel free to proofread/correct/add to the below. The last thing I want to do is add confusion to the void I’m trying to fill. Everything here is a real US release except for very few Canadian variants. I don’t do much foreign Xbox so knock yourself out if you can make good lists of games for those. I’m also not into hardware, so check the people below if you’re nuts for orange controllers and whatever. Credit to Xbox big shots like ThePiratePimp, Xboxsegafan187, and super_nintender for some pics I’ve stolen. ThePiratePimp recently created one of the first ever truly useful Xbox collecting resource with pictures. For some more in depth stuff, check that out: https://thepiratepimp.weebly.com/. Follow super_nintender on Instagram. Is @abrahamh2 still around here? He’s an OG too. Unfinished: Variant lists are bad. E.g. I believe all NBA Live 2003s came with a soundtrack CD even though it’s under variants. Some variant wording is not exactly correct, e.g. “With Movie Ticket” to the specific “Free Movie Ticket Inside!” wording. Just note that these are my personal lists. They are by no means definitive or complete in terms of the variants and weird stuff, because there is no definitive Xbox list. They were only available in the GTA Double Pack and Trilogy. The individual releases have PS2-style box art and are Blockbuster rental exclusives. You figure out how to put these in a list, I count them separately here because they technically are available as individual releases and it feels wrong to not include them. Tetris Worlds “Online Edition” is just Tetris Worlds with Xbox Live support. This is an update that came out a year later, not a variant. Count it or don't. Morrowind Game of the Year Edition is Morrowind with the expansions, count it or don’t Fable: The Lost Chapters and Ninja Gaiden Black are updated re-releases, although I imagine everyone would count them here. Just note I personally put something like NFS: Black Edition is put under the special editions so you may want to build your own list. MLB 2K5 World Series Edition is a special postseason release of the game that came out almost a year later. I would not consider this a variant or limited edition. The three Burger King Games: Pocket Bike Racer, Big Bumpin’, and Sneak King are dual format for both Xbox and Xbox 360. Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack isn’t really a game, but most people probably like to count it Some cancelled/PAL games I’ve seen erroneously on US lists include Kao the Kangaroo Round 2, Snocross 2, Animaniacs, Fuel, and some F1/Soccer games. The most uncommon regular release is possibly IHRA Sportsman Edition. In reality, nothing in this list is rare. There are certainly a number of rarer games than JP: Operation Genesis, just no one cares about them. Games like Futurama and Stubbs aren’t hard to find but have a lot of hype behind them. Lots of the hardest to find Xbox games are just random racing games. The rare PH games and LEs blow any of these out of the water. Black Label Multi-packs Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Halo Triple Pack NCAA Football 2005 / Top Spin (Pack-in) Outlaw Golf / Sea Blade Sega GT 2002 / Jet Set Radio Future (Pack-in) Star Wars: The Clone Wars / Tetris Worlds Online Edition (Pack-in) Notes: There is a TOCA Racer Driver 2 variant that includes Colin McRae Rally 04 as a “free bonus disc”. You might also consider this a multi pack. I think of it more like a bonus DVD variant. Action Double Pack: Halo/Brute Force doesn’t exist AFAIK, unless someone wants to show me a real picture of one.
  9. Population reports are only so useful anyway. If you have a 9/9/9.5/9.5 Black Lotus you could crack it and resubmit it a dozen times fishing for the 9.5 jackpot. When the price difference is $1,000s for that .5 bump, I have no doubt there are many resubbed cards on population reports. Video games will probably be worse over time because of all the upgrade potential, either to complete CIB games or upgrade mediocre components.
  10. Yeah, traditional cinnamon bun breakfast gang!
  11. My eastern European grandparents always did on Christmas Eve. My family otherwise did Christmas morning. Used to wake up at 4am and tiptoe through various bell-traps that would alert my parents. Now I snooze until 11am and enjoy the sweet multiple days off.
  12. I have a black label US set, although there's so many little variants and LEs I don't have everything. As far as playing it's a pretty uninteresting console because nearly everything that matters is better on PC and a modern toaster could play original Xbox games much better than an Xbox can. It's mostly interesting for the superior console multiplatform games it has like Burnout 3/Revenge and a very small handful of Sega and MS exclusives. The most interesting part of Xbox is that 90% of the library is in the dollar bin if you're looking to fill up shelves with 1000 games. It's like the Wii except if the Wii didn't say Nintendo so people cared even less.
  13. It's part of the game. As is looking at opponents screens when you're playing a split screen game.
  14. It's not a product for me, but damn the $25 price tag on such a weird and niche piece of vintage gaming tech is pretty sweet. I remember the Kickstarter was something ridiculous like well over $100, which in a world of Analogues and Framemeisters is sort of the price I expect with enthusiast-made inventions.
  15. Someone had a ton of NOS Contra IIIs on Ebay for something like $25-40 not too long ago (2017-2018). I distinctly remember the price dropped before they sold out. A friend pointed out a dealer with WF Wrestlemania at a con last week for $35 for me recently, because they knew I'm looking for one, which I passed on because of condition. I've gotten garbage titles (Jungle Strike) for <$10 on Ebay because no one wants them, although maybe they're more popular these days. No offense to Jungle Strike fans, I meant garbage in the collectible sense. IMO they're interesting to hunt for but the people trying to get $100+ for this crap are dreaming. But hey who knows, maybe they'll be super collectible one day.
  16. I use a rowing machine a few times a week and replaced junk food with a meal replacement shake (Huel), which regardless of what you feel about it has a lot less sugar than junk food. I'm not in shape at all though. Still need to eat less delicious garbage.
  17. Come on, you're on your death bed, you have no family to take your inheritance, but you still have your old Nintendo tapes. Take that Gumshoe and slice it open just to feel something one last time!
  18. Yeah, I know I'm fighting for basically nothing (in most cases I'm dying with like 4000 souls and I've already beaten enemies that singularly drop more that that). I gotta do the newbie things to learn why the newbie things are a waste of time though. Sort of similarly, whenever people complain about losing their hearts in Simon's Quest, I'm always like "Who cares man, you can grind out all the hearts you need for the entire game in like 10 minutes of mummies!".
  19. Buy buy buy. Oh, was I supposed to give a healthy answer?
  20. Con of Mega Sg: It looks really stupid with a Sega CD. Kidding though, my experience with the Mega Sg and Super Nt have been great, although I’m less familiar with picky nuance type stuff than NES.
  21. Demon’s Souls. I haven’t played any Souls games (or many modern action games at all). Really enjoying it so far about 8hr in. There is no BS in this game. The death system has made me be cheesy to not lose souls so far. I rush at a boss and get one-shot, then my second time at him I use 100 arrows and hit and run because I don’t want to lose my souls. That’s worked for like 4 bosses in a row.
  22. I would harp on this name so much more if Wii U didn't exist. It abbreviates to Xbox SX at least which sounds like a thing and not something stupid like Xbone. The small form factor PC tower is pretty cool looking, although maybe inconvenient because it would have to sit on the floor next to my TV rather than in my TV stand.
  23. Giant Bomb has DCS videos where they go in blind and start planes with the manual and sometimes it takes them over a half hour to get something like the A-10C Warthog off the ground, lol.
  24. If you ever try a game on PC, check out DCS World. The P-51D Mustang is one of the two free planes in that game. It's a realistic simulator with an entirely working cockpit, basically the opposite of something like Ace Combat, but you might find it interesting. This is how you start up a P-51, and it's one of the simplest planes in the game. You have to read a big flight manual to learn how to start and fly each individual plane.
  25. Just to mention one that hasn't been mentioned, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's probably less impressive compared to the modern story-games of today, but it's basically the Deus Ex that Deux Ex: Invisible War wanted to be, although no longer held back by the limitations of the original Xbox. It reminded me a ton of the original Deus Ex, which is one of the best games ever.
