Agreed, Deftones gave a very strong catalogue. They do have some of the key features of nu metal and AtF and White Pony came out at the height of nu metal. But they have such a unique and distinct sound, very atmospheric. The band itself doesn't think of themselves as nu metal, and after pressure from their label to make a nu metal single for their White Pony album, they released this song which they all hate. Saturday Night Wrist has one of my least favorite songs (Pink Cellophane) but also one of my favorite with Rats! Rats! Rats! It's a more extreme metal track but still works in a quick chug riff.

In '99, I was still in my ska phase (Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Aquabats) playing trombone in the middle school orchestra. But I remember Korn, Limp Bizkit, and all the other Family Values bands blowing up. I was never a big nu metal fan but have (finally) gotten into the Deftones over the past couple years.

If you look at a similar situation with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, he had extensive outlining done for the final book but died during writing. His widow (along with TOR publishing) got accomplished author and long time time fan Brandon Sanderson to use Jordan's work to finish the series and while I'm sure not everyone was pleased, Sanderson's work was overall well received. So it can be done, but Martin has been shown to not be a very organized author so I'm not sure if another author could effectively take the helm.

I have this system cib and it is one of my favorites. Everyone goes nuts over the pokemon yellow system but this one looks way cooler. I got mine NM years ago along with a cib Pokemon Yellow for crazy cheap.

I used to use this music streaming site around 2006-2010 that I think I learned about from G4 (Attack of the Show) where everyday you'd get hearts. You'd use these hearts to bet on which songs you thought would be popular, so the more a song you bet hearts on got liked and played, the more hearts you'd get win back and you'd level up your account. This was before the music industry got into streaming, so most of this music was independent artists. I feel like the weirdest part of this recipe is actually the 500g of gravy. Gravy isn't an ingredient. And gravy is the only wet thing it asks for? This isn't a soup, it's a stew.
