  1. It's not even a first prriiiiiiinnnnnnntttttttttttttt
  2. But you won't spill the beans on which sealed game it is?
  3. Now you just have to hope American collectors actually accept Canadian variants as legit NTSC collectibles haha.
  4. My spread sheet goes back to 2012, I probably started collecting back in 2009 though? I used to do it on pen & paper before learning how to use Excel haha. I was 16 at the time so cut me some slack. On a single item, it was actually just a year ago in July 2019. $2041CAD on a sealed Mega Man 2 no stripe variant. Absolutely love the item. A real grail piece. Most on a single purchase was back in 2014. $3500CAD buying a full collection from someone locally. This included stuff like CIB Dino's Peak, Bubble Bubble 2, a "new" DK64 controller, unused consoles, etc. Even back then, $3500 was an unreal price for it all. I had to use my student line of credit for the purchase haha, which is the only time I ever actually ended up using it!
  5. I love it, never knew there was a MIJ variant. Now I have to go check which I have CIB and sealed haha. Anyone have a Mexico box they could check? I would assume it would align with the later print MIJ.
  6. This is just fucked. I don't know Atari that well, but even the 1988 Mario for like 9K is absolutely laughable isn't it? Are any of these titles that sold *actually* that hard to find in sealed nice condition? My mind is diluted by how available most every Atari title has been for years (factory sealed). I feel like all of the Atari sale prices are far more laughable than any of the other sales, but would love more input.
  7. I can attest first hand to sending in what was basically a case fresh Dk64 that had a stress crease along the top side. It came back 90.
  8. This is just one of those things that comes down to experience. Yes, if you don't handle factory sealed games often and have not spent 10 years studying them, fakes will look "near perfect". They are not, and in hand it is VERY obvious. It's just like fake labels on games. "They look identical to real ones". No, they don't.
  9. Bust a Move 2 as well I can think of, which is also acclaim.
  10. Yea, Tyson definitely caught my eye. But I guess with how stupid 3rd print CIB prices were getting I shouldn't really be surprised....
  11. The testimonial data I've always heard is that VGA was always super tight in the old days. Interesting. Someone recently had also said they sent a submission to VGA in 2019 and were shocked at some of the grades (on the high end). I just sent in an order that I'll get back in May so I'll be able to see first hand in there's been any change in their standards (I always write down my guesses). I can't offer much more info than that though. It's a very shitty 85+ any way you look at it haha.
  12. And all of those ones I graded myself, and agreed, I hoped for 90 on all of them as they only have superficial cellophane wear. In a case like this, I would almost assume the seller intentionally didn't want to show the flaws, and hoped that the buyer would simply be happy seeing the grade and moving on. The rips are very easy to miss on first inspection, but that wear on the back certainly isn't haha. When you ran the game in the database, do you remember the date when it was graded? I'm just curious if it is 2018 or newer. Edit to add: my DW7 was graded June, 2019. It is "possible" the standards have lowered....
  13. Interestingly enough, I just bought a Dragon Warrior VII for PS1 in VGA 85+ and it also has a very small tear in a similar position to yours. Albeit, there is no other discernable damage. Having submitted ps1 double jewel case games myself, a very small nick should have resulted in an 85, but assuming excellent otherwise condition, I could see it falling into the 85+. However, with the wear you have, I would expect an 80+ with 85 being the highest possible grade. Hopefully the return goes smoothly for you.
  14. No. Sealed is sealed so long as it cannot be opened, essentially. This would just be a sealed game with a small Nick/tear in the seal.
  15. Great to hear all of this. I was going to send to WATA soon (slowest tier) but even that sounds unappealing still...
  16. That's exactly why I don't own one. I just couldn't pull the trigger with all of the added fees to Canada. Blah.
  17. "Final Fantasy VII [Misprint, First Production] Wata 7.5 A+ Sealed PS1 Squaresoft 1997 USA. This is the first time we've offered a first-production-run copy of this game. Its first production status is indicated by the misprinting of the word "masterpiece" on the back of the game, which was corrected in subsequently produced copies." I am actually pretty damn certain this is incorrect. I've always been under the notion the the "realistic violence" ESRB rating is the first print, and this is the subsequent printing, which updated the ESRB but had the notorious misprint. And then the misprint was corrected in the 3rd print.
  18. Sorry, the mods here instaban anyone who doesn't have *at least* $11K worth of video games.
  19. I was lucky enough to grab this cheap, but I really have no idea what to price it at. Any PAL collectors able to chime in? Even any kind of ballpark value?
  20. I love that now people are recognizing how much harder the first print DW is. This seemed like an unknown(?) variant until like a year ago.
  21. My Contra fits that bill. In that instance then, WATA would have to recognize it is an actual match, hey? I was worried I would have to track down a circle seal cart...
  22. Fucking terrible for the Canada crew. I only use economy tier for VGA and the couple of cibs I've graded and now it's over 70CAD to grade a single CIB!? The wait time doesn't even bother me, but if you're going to hold it essentially indefinitely, I don't see why the price has to be so high... And keep in mind I try to send like 30 things at once to minimize the shipping costs back and forth. Sending a single item now is asinine.
  23. But check out this complete garbage. 3 mismatched parts pieces together for a 7.5. it just doesn't make any sense....
  24. I didn't remember Kung Fu either haha
