  1. I played a lot of NHL 95 with my brother as kids.
  2. I beat Baldur's Gate 3 over the weekend. Took pretty long since I was playing co-op with my wife, but overall was very enjoyable. I did my typical first playthrough character - a Dwarf with a huge fuck-off sword. Big numbers, no death, all fun. Started a playthrough solo (i.e. not co-op), playing as The Dark Urge. Went with a half-elf Sorcerer for this run, and I've bumped up the difficulty to Tactician, and am restricting myself to two characters - myself and Shadowheart, who will remain a cleric, but re-spec'd into a healer/tank. It's been fun so far.
  3. Honestly probably Call of Duty or something with a similarly high skill ceiling. CoD has the advantage of getting new games regularly, AND the old games are STILL active online. I can hop on World at War right now and there will be servers going with players on them. Then there's the competitive and ranked scene, with the potential to "go pro". Runescape would be another "series" which technically counts as two separate and both HUGE MMORPG games, and there's other side content you could also enjoy. The replay ability with specific builds and self-imposed challenges in Runescape, I could play for the rest of my life and never run out of things to do, assuming the service itself doesn't die. And even if it did, private servers are a thing. Endless pastabilities.
  4. Go see a doctor, my guy.
  5. Conversely, I don't speak to my parents, haven't in I think over a decade now. No plans or desire to. In fact I have a completely other worry - that one day they might come knocking looking to me for care, despite the estrangement. Fortunately to my knowledge in Canada they can't force me to become their caregiver or to send them money.
  6. The box art on Dinosaur Resurrection is fuckin awesome.
  7. Toss up between Diddy Kong Racing and Diddys Kong Quest.
  8. Never played it, don't like Sonic so never will.
  9. FCGamer: I don't just collect junk! Also FCGamer:
  10. So far yeah, it's longevity as a free hosting service has actually impressed me. Images I'd assumed long gone are still up on there from like 15 years ago.
  11. What does your location have to do with the amount of data VGS allows you to host on the site? That doesn't make any sense.
  12. Last night I beat Batman Returns on the SNES for the first time ever. I've loved the game since I was a kid, despite being pretty terrible at it. The beat em up genre has never been my favourite, and I've never been good at it, but I love Batman Returns, and the game is just so "punchy" - the visuals, the audio, everything about it pulls together so well to me that I easily forgive that progress comes hard for me. I played through on normal, though admittedly I gave myself the maximum amount of lives to start (7 per continue); I only actually ended up using 2 of 3 continues which is really solid for me. Just took a lot of focus and strategy, and I'm really happy I got through it.
  13. I'm a really modern guy. Brimming with youthly energy!
  14. The "é" literally has an accent which tells you precisely how it's meant to be pronounced. Like it's not even a debate what is the proper way, the only real question here is "how many of you pronounce it incorrectly?".
  15. I've added emoticons next to every game I've played so far to give an idea of how I feel/felt about it.
  16. I'm not a troglodyte, so po-kay-mon.
  17. I recognize it but I can't place it.
  18. I may have misread something the other day in that case, nice.
  19. FYI @Code Monkey it's somewhat similar here in Canada, albeit different in certain ways. Each province has differences with how much they'll give you for doing this, and the amount @Khromak quoted there is a few thousand more than what I've seen quoted here in Nova Scotia. Regardless, if you're in a house that you plan to stay in long-term, the cost savings should even out over time. It's even possible to sell power back to "the grid" if you save more power than you use through solar panels, just make sure to check with your local power company if they do this.
