    • 10/10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.
    • 9/10 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.
    • 8/10 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.
    • 7/10 - Very good, but not quite great.
    • 6/10 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.
    • 5/10 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.
    • 4/10 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.
    • 3/10 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.

    • 2/10 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people might like this, but you are not one of them.

    • 1/10 - Horrible in every way.

    • 0/10 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

I'm just trying to fanthom someone being unfamiliar with Start Me Up.  The most ubiquitous song in all the overplayed lands.

Just listened to it - ok I at least recognize it. I didn't recognize it from the name.

@Tabonga I only know of Stairway to Heaven through South Park; was that originally a song of theirs?

This thread has me convinced that Gloves is a pod person.

Also, 8/10 Stones

I do not and never have listened to the radio for any extended period of time. Time in the car as a kid was spent listening to news or cassettes.

As a sidenote, I hate Hootie and the Blowfish.

Jesus christ is that a real thing?

Indeed it is - as far as I know Pabst (which bought the name a long time ago) is still cranking them out.

Rumor had it when I was in college that someone sent a sample in to have analyzed and the reply read thusly   "Sir - we regret to inform you that your horse is very very sick."

Especially for anyone alive during the Windows 95 rollout.

I think it is a pale horse in those parts compared to "Stairway to Heaven."

Isn't the 80s cover of it (can't remember by whom) the only version to make the Billboard top whatever?

I don't know anything about the cover.  I know it never charted really high despite the massive amount of airplay because IIRC it was never released as a single - which drove album sales up but not total number of sales - 45s back then were the main market that AM radio pushed.

The odd thing about it is that it continued to get lots and lots of airplay long after its initial release.  I think for some odd reason it charted in 2007 - likely due to the increasing popularity of digital downloads at that time.
