I believe this list is close to being complete but I am sure there are a few that are missing. If you spot something missing let me know and I will add it.

There's another "Super NES Control Set – Zelda Bundle" that says "Free!" instead of "Special Offer!"

Also, I'm not sure how minor variations you are looking for, but both the "Special Offer!" and "Free!" stickers came on both the "SNS-S-HA-USA" and "SNS-S-HA-USA-1" boxes (different pictures on back of box).

I might just add a note of the different boxes. Do you know how many different variations there might be with different ads on the backs?

Thanks for the Zelda Variant I never noticed it.

I'm not sure. I've only ever researched the Zelda pack-ins, so I only know about those ones.

Also, I should have said the first time, but I believe the picture source was from @rondy, so you should credit him in the Contributors section.

You should contact Marcus Simpson.  He was collecting every "variation" of system boxes. Including the retrofit stickers. He sold them all, but he thought he was pretty close to having "everything" so he might have pictures of them still.

I know I mentioned it in another thread, but keep in mind the ones with stickers were sent with games to employees to put on the already existing boxes, so they are retrofits and not really variations produced in the factory.  You could even find the same stickers placed on Control Sets and Super Sets.

These separate unused stickers appear on eBay from time to time.

Even the "sports" bundle sets were retrofit pieces of cardboard to put on the tops of existing boxes.

Interesting, I may re evaluate my goal having all the "variant". Not sure what to do with those "sticker box"!

think it’s a matter of scale and who approved the bundles. Sure they are just sticker add ons or “retrofits” but they made thousands of them and they were approved by Nintendo.

It just depends on what your definition is but saying they aren’t variants because they didn’t come from the person they hired to print their boxes is strange to me.

They were approved and put together by Nintendo employees and that’s good enough for me to call them a stand alone variant system bundle.

My opinion on the Super Sets and Control Sets having the same sticker is just human error. Certain stickers were probably only meant for certain sets and they got mixed up.

I’m not sure who Marcus Simpson is or how to contact him but it would be great if he would be willing to share his pictures or even a list of what’s out there.

is there other Kmart set?

I’ve seen a few. They had their own version of the Home Run Bundle and maybe an All-Stars set.

There are also Sears Bundles.

The PAL SNES boxes are so much nicer than the NTSC ones

They definitely have better color and eye appeal. The best we had was the Donkey Kong and Killer Instinct Sets when it comes to box art. I'm not really sure why they cut corners and decided slapping stickers on the basic boxes would look fine. It has always came across as somewhat lazy to me, but I still have nostalgia for them.

I got the Super NES Super Set – Super Mario All-Stars one (the one with the blue label; not to be confused with the one in the blue box...Kraft Cheese & Macaroni! 😄 ) in Christmas 1994 along with MLBPA Baseball...it was a long three year wait but it was so worth it...I mean how can you go wrong with five complete Mario games standard! 😄

There is no Sega Super Set with Sonic All-Stars!  Understood? 😄
