It's hard for me to separate Genius of Love from both the massive stain it is on Stop Making Sense, but also the people behind it who are kind of douches (even though I absolutely love Talking Heads).

It's a decent enough song, but I just really don't like it.

Blondie always rocks! Can't hate that.

Genius of Love is from members of the Talking Heads. Bite your tongue. 😡

(Not really, I can see it's not everyone's cup of tea. I like it a lot, though.)

Heart of Glass is a middle of the road Blondie song.

Talking Heads obviously have some fuckin' bangers, but that doesn't make them infallible, and this song isn't my jam, man.

These are from a magical time known as The Eighties.  I guess you had to be there

I love eighties music, these songs just ain't the bomb-diggidy. I was born in '88 so I can't claim to have personally experienced the eighties, but if I were cognizant of my surroundings at the time I'm confident I'd have been a rock, metal, and punk head.

It's fair to say also that having grown up with a mother who was a kid/teen in the eighties, I can assure you that car rides were spent head bobbing to these bands and their contemporaries.

My mom's hair looked like this (and so too does mine, thanks Mom):

The girls can do it too, yall!

James brown? James brown!

Love all the tribute paid in this song.

🎵 I'm in Heaven
With the maven of funk mutation
Clinton's musicians such as Bootsy Collins
Raise expectations to a new intention
🎵

Bootsy played with JB before hooking up with P-Funk too.

Who needs to think when your feet just go

I admit the live versions don't do it justice. But the album song is chef's kiss.

That's cool, though if you just listened to the live video Reed inexplicably posted for reference, you haven't actually heard the song, IMO

It did wildly well in the day - charted at number 1 on US Billboard 100 (pretty amazing actually since Blondie had never charted before).

The album Parallel Lines also charted very well all over the world.
