17 😑 But to be fair I only counted movies I've sat and watched the whole thing through. There are a lot of movies here I've seen pieces of or know references from. Like, I've never seen the entirety of the Godfather, but I've seen parts of it on TV, heard so many references to it, and heard people talk about it that I feel like I have seen it even though I haven't. I'm also just not a big movie guy. 🤷

I think I've only seen about 20 of these, which is sad considering I work in the film & television industry haha.

It seems like these days, the only movies I'm interested in watching are Showa-Era Kaiju films, which aren't exactly "high-tier cinema" most of the time haha.

If I can get myself to prioritize watching classic films, this list seems like a great jumping-off point, though.

I grabbed 3 of them from the library last night

That was the only way I was able to access a few of these back in the day. VHS from the local library!

I forgot to count how many but it’s not a bunch.  Somewhere in the teens maybe 20.  How many of these can really be worth watching to someone not into movies?

There are a good chunk that are timeless like Spartacus, Ben-Hur, Saving Private Ryan etc.

But I would say you have to be a bit more into movies to appreciate stuff like Bringing Up Baby, The Apartment, A night at the Opera, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Etc.

If you struggle with black and white movies then don’t even bother.

Having said that, I think everyone should watch those movies because they are great movies. Something like It Happened One Night is still one of my favourite Romcoms ever made.

I’ve seen around 20 on the list. I definitely plan to watch more of the titles on this list, but not keen on watching all of them. I like a good mix of US/English movies but also Eastern movies, where I love the action/thriller/ horror elements.
