  1. I used “konsolation” with “hyperdub”. Most of the time the whole bundle pops up, but earlier this week, one seller offered up just the cart. I’m sure a few more will pop up in the next few weeks.
  2. Yeah and the bundle itself has sold out. But as I had hoped, some people are unbundling it and selling off the chiptune cart separately on eBay and the like. I picked one up that way.
  3. Basse Def Adventures (NES) and Tobu Tobu Girl Deluxe (GB) now available!
  4. I’d be interested in a physical cart and I signed up on your site!
  5. It was me! I’m so glad you like them. I went through your previous posts and saw how much you like Dark Souls. The figurine even came with a tiny sword you can lay at his feet
  6. In addition to getting in better shape/lose some weight, I hope to learn to code so maybe I can really join the homebrew crew. I have a few bucket list items left like windsurfing, go fishing, and drive a race car. I also hope that this decade will bring me a better sense of contentment with my life. I finally have a job where I like the work and the people, and they make me feel like a worthwhile addition. My career in law has had some ups and downs and I just want to reach a point where I feel happy, stable, and good at what I do. And I think I’ll be kicking off the decade on a good note when next month I’m admitted to the Supreme Court bar!
  7. Great Secret Santa haul from my Santy Claus including NES, Famicom, and more! Thank you @MJACKOWKI21 for my gift and @captmorgandrinker for organizing. Merry holidays everyone
  8. Lucky & Wild arcade cabinet: not just an arcade game, but a driving-shooter arcade game.

  10. Homebrew Leader Board Competition 2020 - Game 1: 8-Bit Xmas 2018 Play Period: Friday, January 3, 2020 - Sunday, January 19, 2020 Play on your cart or download the rom here. Released in time for the holidays of yesteryear, RetroUSB’s 2018 entry of his beloved 8-Bit Xmas series features an isometric skiing/snowboarding arcade challenge. There are many mountain trails to the coveted high score, whether that’s a slow & steady trek through the gates or a black diamond rush off the ramps with some inventive tricks. Just don’t topple over or your score will reset. At least it’s not SkiFree with an Abominable Snow Monster waiting to devour you, right??? Like its brethren in the series, 8-Bit Xmas 2018 was available in a clear cartridge, complete with festive blinking lights and the usual Christmas pinup card. This game comes to you from a veritable homebrew dreamteam: in addition to Brian (RetroUSB's) overall work, Zi (Bleep Bop Records) composed the music, and Zach (Retrotainment) and Kevin (KHan) provided skier and snowboarder graphics. This round will begin January 3, no score posted before then will be accepted. Please limit your posts to including your scores so as not to clutter the thread. How to submit your score: 1. Scores shall be submitted by posting a picture to that month’s game thread. Screenshots of a computer screen (print screen) are not acceptable. 2. The picture must include the entire screen and have your VGS user name within the picture on a piece of paper. Username can not be added digitally to the picture. 3. Type out your score in bold on your thread post. 4. Scores must be submitted within the posted time frame. 5. Do not submit scores from previous runs. 6. Use one post for your score. You can submit as many as you like by editing your original post. You can bump the thread to announce your new score. Rules: 1. NTSC only, no PAL. This will create a level playing field and not create differences based on timing. 2. OEM, FPGA, and clone consoles are OKAY. 3. Emulators are OKAY. Play game at 100% speed. 4. No save states allowed. 5. Flashcarts (i.e. Everdrive / Power Pak) are OKAY. 6. No turbo or slow motion controllers are allowed. 7. No game genie codes. 8. Do not use glitches in the game to boost your score.
  11. Beyond the slight learning curve to handling it differently, there’s no extra time at all. Changing razors when needed and using shaving soap that you whip up in a mug to lather your face is not adding time to your process. I use a bevel safety razor.
  12. I've used just about everything, trying to deal with really bad razor burn on my neck. Between my safety razor and a fairly strong acidic cream, I've found something that works well for me.
  13. Haha ok! In the last few years, I've made cinnamon twists, donut bread pudding pie, brown sugar maple biscuit pie, cranberry banana bread, mint chocolate chip pancakes, pumpkin monkey bread. I love testing out new recipes I've found with my family, but they like the simpler things I made ages ago. My dad compared me to those classic rock bands whose fans hate all the new music they release and wish they would just stick to their old hits.
  14. Do you have any traditions that you, your friends and families do to celebrate the holidays? Those things you have to do, watch, or listen to, otherwise it isn’t the holidays? I have several. To get excited for the holidays, I MUST watch/listen to 3 things: 1) this cutesy album of Christmas songs by the Bethlehem Children’s Chorus that my mom used to play every Christmas morning; 2) RuPaul’s Christmas album, which she got in the KMart 99¢ bin way before she blew up again with Drag Race, it has the funniest covers of classics; and 3) watch the old Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special from the late 80s, it’s so delightfully campy. I also go to Christmas Eve midnight Mass at my hometown church with my mom. The singing isn’t the best, but it has a small town feel I miss and sometimes we bump into old friends. When I was in college there would be a service with candles and Christmas songs right before break that was amazing, it makes me want to move back to Cambridge sometimes. Last, every Christmas morning I make breakfast, usually baking 3 things of tried and true treats or new recipes.
  15. I’m fortunate that I haven’t had problems with respected sellers here or elsewhere and have had minimal trouble non eBay. The only real problem is ordering from people who don’t ship it at all. I have 3 orders from supposedly reputable people that still haven’t been fulfilled and follow up emails are met with “thank you for your patience, we’re working on it.” I try to ask any questions needed to allay any concerns or take a close look at pictures to feel good about a purchase. I’ll generally stay silent about how dirty they usually are, a little grime on the outside makes me feel like I’m giving a good home to a stray, though I’m getting annoyed how many “cleaned and tested games” have filthy contacts. I also don’t mind games that clearly have been in a smoke-filled house because I actually like the third hand smoke.
  16. Thanks for making this offer! I don’t remember the year, definitely late 90s. I had finally beaten Dragon Warrior awhile ago and had experienced the high and low of learning that sequels existed for the NES but well beyond what I could afford with the coin I collected off the ground or what my parents were willing to spend on video games for me. That Christmas morning I picked up a gift and I could just tell from the size, shape, and weight if it that it was a game. I tore through the wrapper and found Dragon Warrior 2! I burst up from the floor and could hardly wait for my family to be done opening the rest of our gifts so I could run into the family room and play my new game pretty much nonstop until I was called for dinner.
  17. My Funcoland was the worst. I would save up my coins and beg my parents to stop by when they were doing errands at the nearby mall. I’d go up to the counter, pull out my price sheet and ask about the games I had starred. Every single time, the teenage guy behind the counter would just say they didn’t have whatever I asked for without even turning around to look at the rows of games behind him. The only way I could get a game was if my mom told the guy to actually turn around or one of the older guys who ran the place was working and would check. I remember a whole other ordeal trying to get a power pad. I asked that store if they had one and they said no but I could try some other stores a few towns over. I visited those stores without luck, but one of them about an hour away said if one came in they would let me know. At some point later they called and said it arrived, so my mom took me over later that week and they said it was gone. I’d just about given up when I went back to the one closest to me and casually asked if they had a power pad...they told me “well, funny you asked. Another funcoland about an hour away sent us this one for a customer but they never picked it up, it’s yours if you want it.” I can’t help but wonder if that was the one meant for me, and one person thought to send it to my closer store but never said anything.
  18. Updated to add a whole new console category for the Game Gear now that we have Hamburgers En Route to Switzerland!
