  1. I've been having fun shooting on film ever since I found my Mom's film camera. Its a Ricoh XR-M. It has been difficult learning about aperture, shutter speed, and depth of field. I'm still experimenting trying to get it together. I am definitely a beginner. I've only finished 5 rolls so far. This week, my grandpa found his old Minolta XD-11 which I have been using since yesterday. There was a roll of expired film inside that I finished. But it was not a smooth process. Problems included wrong ISO speed, bug inside lens, expired film, I messed up with rewinding, lens was set incorrectly which made the shutter stuck, batteries weren't connecting, etc. We'll see how that roll turns out! Thankfully I have learned the camera since then and have a new roll all set. Tomorrow I'm going to disassemble the lens and get that dead bug out of there. The only problem with the camera is the focusing lens. It has scratches or smudges on it. There are no replacements available unfortunately. I did remove it but I took people's warnings and didn't use liquids to clean it. I got some dust off it but it still looks pretty bad through the viewfinder. Do any of you shoot on film for fun? Or do photography in general? Let me know! I'm having a lot of fun with it.
  2. I beat Batman Returns on NES this morning. I enjoy this game. The music is great. I had to continue a few times to get through. Luckily you keep your health extension and even gain a bit if health at each continue. So that made it easier. The shooter staged are a lot of fun. I also played through Castlevania Rondo of Blood for the first time of PCE CD. This game is incredible. The soundtrack is really good. I played through each path and saved all the characters for 100%. Definitely the best Castlevania game of that era.
  3. RIP. He was great. I need to watch more Bergman.
  4. Yes it became frustrating to me as I just found out. I grew up in the gamecube/wii era. So tha fully I have most of the games by now that I want to play. Though there are still some first party titles I missed out on, like Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, Chibi Robo, Star Fox Assault, WarioWare. All of these and more have spiked recently. It sucks.
  5. I've always thought "Kids on Sight" is a nice hidden gem
  6. Nice! I'm guilty of turning it on, realizing it's not a linear action game, getting confused, then turning it off after 10 minutes. That was a few years ago. I really need to try it again and give it an honest shot. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like the music
  7. Just beat Bucky O'Hare for the first time tonight. It was ok. Not sure how I feel about games with infinite continues that drop you off exactly where you got a game over. It makes 1ups completely irrelevant. I did use the continue like 40 times. Is the game too difficult and unbalanced so they added infinite continues to balance it out? Bad game design? Or did I just suck because it was my first time playing? Idk. It was one of those games where there are SO MANY cheap deaths and patterns that you have to know beforehand. So, not so fair on first playthroughs. Maybe I'll feel different if I play it through again. Sorry, I meant HIDDEN GEM HIDDEN GEM HIDDEN GEM HIDDEN GEM HIDDEN GEM HIDDEN GEM eh.....
  8. When did they announce that? From what I understand, these are already printed.
  9. Ugh I cant justify buying both since I can't play them in US. Teddy looks cool, but shooters are my favorite game type. So I'm going with SHMUP collection.
  10. PAL release only unfortunately The games are: "SHMUP Collection" and "Finding Teddy 2" 3000 numbered copies each. https://www.pixelheart.eu
  11. This is how a reglue job can turn out well. It's still holding strong.
  12. I really havent been collecting games lately. I guess that's what happens when you quit working in a game store. You become interested in other things when games aren't in your face 24/7. Also, living away from my collection and being super busy in school doesnt leave much time to play. Though I have been enjoying this which I just received.
  13. I am running out of space and would like to reorganize some clutter. How should I store my loose handheld systems? I currently have them in a box with 3 layers separated by a cloth. I don't want to display them on a shelf and worry about keeping them dusted. Any suggestions?
  14. It is perfectly fine to reglue labels. Should you disclose it when selling? NO- if you can't even tell its been reglued. YES- if you did a sloppy job and its noticeable.
  15. Yep fully aware it's the tv causing the extra processing lag or whatever. Yeah these retro hdmi consoles are wonderfully designed. But they play like s*** on my tv.
  16. I was playing a few shoot em ups with the Mega SG on our Samsung 4k tv. The lag was killing my enjoyment. Yes it was on game mode. Does lag free gaming exist on flat screens? Not in my experience. This blows. Precision is absolutely necessary for shooters which is my favorite game type. NOTHING beats CRTs lag free. If you dont notice the lag, you are kidding yourself or my tv sucks. Sorry! Had to vent. I'll do more testing again on the weekend. Maybe it's not so bad once you adapt to it.
  17. 1990-1994 It is crazy how many systems were being supported during this time. NES, SNES, Gameboy, Master System, Genesis, CD, 32x, Game Gear Neo Geo, Turbografx, Lynx, 3do
  18. That movie was great. Love Bowie and Michael Caine. When I watched it with my family, we would scream whenever Cristian Bale showed up with a fake moustache or beard! I was confused by the timeline at first but it wasn't too bad. I loved the twists and turns the story took. Would recommend to anybody.
  19. Abandoned section of road and rail!! There are a lot of cool locations along this unused rail line! This old road was in use until a few years ago when it was bypassed with a large boulevard. But you can still drive underneath one of these bridges a few RR crossings to the north on the aptly named Railroad St. Ilford HP5 B&W film
