  1. It's just that it wasn't popular here in EU and US. When it comes to programming, modding and any other field that contributes to something like a functioning FPGA system i just don't feel that a significant contribution comes from Japan. With 120 mil people there ought to be countless candidates but maybe the bulk of it just stays domestic. I just don't see a scenario where a large enough Jap gaming/programming community would do the legwork to get every single game to work without issues as it works on say the SNES. I reckon they just aren't plugged in to FPGA or Analogue specifically like that, putting their work & knowledge out there in the open like say Kevtris. ...Or maybe the EU-US fanbase is dedicated enogh and you'll have individuals finishing every single game, maybe with gadgets to the side of them, documenting irregularities similar to how Joe Redifer did in that review.
  2. The PCE has a much smaller community than NES/SNES who knows when all games are going to work without irregularities.
  3. Not neccessarily. There are quite a few examples where the overlord is much stronger than any single henchman - even so it get's amplified by having a group. Like Azog the Defiler. Being the top dog still serves the purpose of inspiring/scaring the underlings, even if he couldn't take on his whole army if they were to gang up on him. It's kind of beside the point really.
  4. The last boss should be the hardest it just seems reasonable. If an organisation or grand orchestrator of something evil is dispatched at the very beginning then it defeats it's own premise.
  5. Everdrive GBA 114$ Everdrive GB 79$. A GBA you could probably get for 15-20$ somewhere. You don't really need the IPS mod, it's just more convenient not really a must. No you wouldn't be able to play everything. I'm talking about the Game Boy experience.
  6. GBA Everdrive Mini couldn't hold GB-GBC games if i'm not mistaken. In that case you'd need 1 Everdrive GB and 1 Everdrive GBA flashcart respectively and then you could run it all on a GBA/SP console. There would be no collecting.
  7. Yeah but you still can't replace an original controller. With consoles though, since they never were portable and if you want a game to be portable it might make some sense. No i am not the target customer.
  8. Yeah i've said it before i still don't know what this Pocket console does. Why you wouldn't want to play on a GBC, on a GBA, when there's no issue about needing a CRT-TV or input lag solutions, none of it. I only really see value in the screen quality. But those issues are not hard to mitigate on a GBC/GBA really you just make sure to position yourself against your lamp. Also the NT, Super NT and Mega SG still offer the original controller inputs. Pocket doesn't.
  9. It would've been a bigger dilemma with only old vs. new cars. Those legitimately aren't made like they used to be. With games you can and will find something that, if not identical to the old thing, pretty similar to it. Mega Man 9 & 10 look like the old stuff. Jay & Silent Rob: Mall Brawl aswell. The 2D Bloodline's versions, Cyber Shadow, Battlekid etc. So yeah it's not really a hard dilemma with comparsions like this where one option has infinite choices and the other doesn't: you always go with the bigger potential.
  10. To me FPGA technology serves the function to play original-behaving games on a HDMI TV, with an original controller and the optional conveniance to run ROMs. With a handheld that doesn't require a TV the functionality remains the same always. There's no need to FPGA anything. The games themselves aren't inconvenienced by a flashcart, hell it doesn't even potrude from the console. If you're into red/blue shining screens, backlit, sound improvements, pimped out casings etc. i guess it can fill a niche. Me i'd rather see the monochrome green GB improved to not have ghosting or the ability to use the GB/GBC as a controller when playing on TV (like the Game Bly Player offered with GBA).
  11. A ghost by definition would be metaphysical so it wouldn't really make sense that it suffers the same fate as the physical body. Also it wouldn't benefit to an exciting plot very much. If you've come back with a vengance yet are powerless enough to get shot/stabbed again it kind of defeats the purpose of coming back. The ghost has to be overpowering whoever he's haunting, and when he's defeated it has to have taken some effort. But maybe i'm missing the gist of your question.
  12. Yeah that one is a lot rarer it's barely even photographed or shown at all. But in America you probably could find it eventually.
  13. Yeah but the TV itself is whatever that could fit and could accept the cables so to speak, isn't it? I've never owned nor seen this unit live.
  14. Have you guys realized that the Game Boy kiosk was the 1st official way to play with a the greenish-tinted screen on a TV? Neither Super Game Boy nor Game Boy Player offered that altough they could've easily.
  15. I ask about "100% complete" and point out including warning papers, ads etc. to let the seller know that i'm literally asking about everything. Just saying "CIB" they won't know.
  16. What value would any of these women bring you if it were to get more serious? (That's aside from any of those guys finding out what you've done and hurting you.) You can't guarantee that you won't get deeper feelings. The relationship will already have a bad foundation since you never met on better circumstances. Also there's the risk you'll get cheated on aswell. You don't know how big it is - but you do know first hand that she's cheated. You should let them all fizzle out. Stop having time to see them until it dies out.
  17. I dabbled in this but on the 4th level when the robots jump out of the aircraft's hatch and swarm down onto the motorcycle i kept dying and thought it was impossible. Turns out you have to be on the move. Other than that there's the last boss segment where you get to choose wich attack the brain is going to use. You can raise the challenge by opting for the hardest every time.
  18. Might be pretty solid. The original seems darker in tone wich i prefer but it's nice this series is being kept alive.
