  1. Thanks bud! I know you guys are working hard to get the site up!
  2. Sorry dudes, but this needs attention (once the site is stable, of course). how about standards/practices from the Admins to mods to users? what we can all expect from each other? Sure, “do you want to others “works well, until you’re a sadomasochist... Best practices from the staff means standards of what is and isn’t acceptable from both the users and admins/mods. This becomes a “good fences make good neighbors” where boundaries and respect can help a community thrive with a common interest.
  3. It’s the wild Wild West, but with mostly polite older gamers...
  4. OFFICIAL RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO REMOVE INK FROM A NES PLASTIC CART Method 1: Denatured Alcohol SUGGESTED BY: many membersMETHOD: Apply denatured alcohol to area, then use cotton ball/q-tip/rag/paper towel/pencil eraser, rub the markered area- it will lift off the marker. This will have to be done several times for optimal results. VARIANT: Use an electric toothbrush.CAUTION: Alcohol will damage labels. Apply only to the plastic markered area.Method 2: Goo GoneSUGGESTED BY: many membersMETHOD: Apply goo gone and then rub the area with cotton ball/q-tip.CAUTION: Too much goo gone will eat away at the plastic. CAUTION: Rubbing too hard will destroy the plastic.CAUTION: Goo gone will remove the sticky and/or discolor your labels. Apply only to the plastic markered area.Method 3: Magic EraserSUGGESTED BY: a few membersMETHOD: Gently wipe with magic eraser pad. VARIANT: Add goo gone on magic eraser pad. CAUTION: May damage/discolor label.CAUTION: May damage texture of plastic.Method 4: Axe Body SpraySUGGESTED BY: a few membersMETHOD: Spray on, wipe or rub off.CAUTION: Cart will smell like cologne. CAUTION: Will damage/discolor label.Method 6: Nail Polish RemovalSUGGESTED BY: a few membersMETHOD: Wipe nail polish removal on markered area- wipe off.CAUTION: Reports of whitening or discoloration to plastic.CAUTION: Will damage/discolor label.Method 7: Dry Erase MarkerSUGGESTED BY: a few members.METHOD: Scribble dry erase marker on the permanent marker then wipe off. The dry erase should pick up the permanent marker.CAUTION: Mixed results with textured NES carts.CAUTION: Might take up to four applications.Method 8: SunscreenSUGGESTED BY: one memberMETHOD: Apply sunscreen (unspecified spf) to markered area, let it sit, wipe off.CAUTION: Unknown effects, sounds crazy.Method 9: Brake fluidSUGGESTED BY: a mess of membersMETHOD: Rub on, rub off.CAUTION: Keep the fluid away from the edge of the labels, where it can wick the fluid. LABLES Method 1: Insta Lift (which is a remover of paint, permanent marker and other materials)SUGGESTED BY: a few membersMETHOD: Rub it on, and immediately rub it off.CAUTION: This works well for labels, but it will eat the plastic of your cart. Everyone has their favorite methods and it's STRONGLY recommended that you test these on a Silent Service cart before trying to clean up your Flintstones 2 or TMNT4 cart. I'm more than happy to update this hog if you have suggestions or want to tell me some method doesn't work.
  5. ohhhhhhhh damn. made me remember to port over an eight year old thread from the old forum I DID IT! this whole post is a link to the VGS thread
  6. yes, love the chiptune version!!! so what did you use to compose? Fami? if so, chipset? love that you used the triangle as the lead about halfway through. is it all in the chipset and using dpmc for drums? I struggle with the samples for some reason. The only time I used it was for the last xmas cart for a donkey "hee-haw" sfx and it didn't call correctly (came out soft and distorted). When I get home I'm going to post a few chiptunes!
  7. @bunnyboy release that API, bro!
  8. yup. I started on ppmck (on a mac) back in 08. I wanted to make music for new homebrew games and realized I didn't have an audio resume. I think I did a song for a one-off cart created by the community of the old site, and then was lucky to work with MRN for his projects!
  9. @TylerBarnes put a ton of work (see his dev thread from the other site) and it looks like his Moonfall Cartridge is available for purchase!!! (edit: I purchased one because it's awesome) This is a very recent chiptune development and a great place to start the discussion! Tyler, could you post up any additional materials, videos, thoughts, etc. as you work though the last stage (sales)?
  10. ohhhh yeah. learnin' to make music using metal slime's music engine (and your mods to it) makes famitracker look easy
  11. when you guys are done with the "no, you have the last slice of pizza" discussion please add: @TylerBarnes Zelda chiptune cart project which is now avail for purchase https://www.moonfallcartridge.com
  12. cartridge!? wait, what were we calling it before? I agreed, I thought it was Jesus teaching us how to use magnets via a video game parable.
  13. look, I know it's a popular sequence, but it's obviously: 17 2 6 63 53 38 1 30 25 8 107 28 19 53 47 21 35
  14. yes. are "we" porting over Nerdy Nights? MRN's Advanced NN?
  15. I don't want to tell you how to do your job but... I think the tabs is to be used as a main header and then topics go under it like: quotes -a whole bunch of quote topics episodes -favorites -hated ::walks slowly backwards into the hedges::
  16. As with every NA related post it’s important to tread lightly and remain positive. That we’re all here right now is a clear indication of our feelings towards the other site and there’s no need to kick a man when he’s down. Also, I'd like to coin the term Sage Rage™for anyone who rants about the other site!
  17. UGH I CANT LOVE ANY OF THESE COMMENTS!!! EDIT: it's unlimited (or a very high number) now. I fought the law and won!!! woah, what an empowered rush... I'm going to the Vatican- watch out, Holy See! double edit: I guess lock Triple edit- we did it! We fought the power and we won!!!!!!!!!!! Also, thanks for the quick fix gloves.
  18. Just received "Sorry, you cannot add any more reactions today." Can these be uncapped? I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to "love" or "thanks" a post- in the other forum I'd have to make the choice to either post a +1 or nothing at all and, seeing as I'm not looking to pump up my post count, opted for a lot of nothing.
  19. Hello! I'm zi, I make chiptunes and am actively looking to work on your next NES project (as long as it's going to a cart- I love me some carts). Please feel free to reach out via DM here or visit my chiptune website Bleep Bop Records. I look forward to meeting you all!
