  1. Yes. That game is the reason why I decided to get a PS3. I've never been a day 1 adopter, and I knew I would get a PS3 eventually, but when MGS4 came out, that's when I decided to pull the trigger. I wanted to get one of the gun metal grey PS3 models that was themed around MGS4, but unfortunately, they sold out quick, and I bought a normal fat PS3 (non backwards compatible) about a month after that release. Also, I don't want to give much away, but if you played through MGS1 and enjoyed it, you will be in for a pleasant surprise during Act 4.
  2. Aluminum case. Includes both HDMI and analogue output. 4 controller ports. 2 cartridge slots. Comes with one controller. I'm sure there are a few other reasons, but those all add cost.
  3. I have no issue with it when it's done legally. I actually enjoy the look of it most of the time (again, when it's legal). I just have no patience for one person destroying another person's property. St. Louis has a long flood wall along the Mississippi, just south of the city, and my understanding is that they do not enforce any type of graffiti laws or regulations on the wall, and anyone can paint on it as they wish. I think it's a good idea to encourage it in some places since it gives some people an outlet to use.
  4. I would probably buy that. Considering that I sold off my O2 despite the fact that I did enjoy some of the games, a classic would be a perfect way to still paly some of the games without going emulation. But at the same time, it doesn't bother me that I know this will never happen.
  5. I really recommend trying out 4. As I mentioned before, 2 and 3 were great games, but I never enjoyed either as much as 1. But when 4 came out, it blew everything out of the water for me.
  6. 10. Amazing game and it still holds up well today in my opinion. My only major complaint with the game was the forced backtracking to help pad the game length, but that was super common during that era. It was always my favorite MGS game until 4 came out. MGS 2 and 3 were amazing as well, but I never quite liked them as much. MGS4 took everything that worked from the first 3 games and perfected it. Twin Snakes is amazing as well, but I still prefer the original. My complaints with Twins Snakes come from the re-recorded voices. I was super happy they brought back the original cast and used the same script, but unfortunately, much of the dialogue felt rushed. Also, the GC controller was awful for this type of game. This game is one of the reasons why I'm in the camp that hates the GC controller. Lastly, while the first person view is an interesting add-on, it also sort of breaks some of the boss battles. Of course, you could always chose not to use if if you don't like it. At the end of the day, I will just stick with the original. Edit: To clarify, my vote of 10 is specifically for the PS1 version. I would rate Twin Snakes a 9.
  7. I'm also curious about release dates for the remaining adapters for the Pocket. I expect that to be much later, maybe even after the Duo, but I still want to get those.
  8. I think you're right, and I bet those go super fast. I have mine, so I'll be focusing on the Super NT tomorrow.
  9. Surprised no one has mentioned No Man's Sky. I know they eventually fixed the game, but at release, the game wasn't even a fraction of what was promised. The "fixed" version of the game was kind of fun, but by the time it came out, most people didn't care anymore, and I think a pretty small number of people really got a chance to play it the way it was intended.
  10. I got my notification too (although mine went to my junk folder ). Just remember to be ready to clear the payment with your bank. For whatever reason, several major credit cards don't like Analogue's site and flag the purchases.
  11. The last time I turned in $50 worth of coins to the bank, I was there about 3 minutes. At most banks including mine, it won't take any longer to deposit coins than any other type of currency. I mean, unless you want to watch them count it. But why would anyone do that?
  12. What percentage of NJ governors have been sent to prison since the 60s? Is it more than one in three?
  13. Oh, I forgot to mention that when both of my boys played this game, they both asked me if Mario can throw his hat in this game. I guess when Mario Odyssey is the first Mario game you ever play in your life, you just consider the hat throwing to be pretty normal.
  14. Illinois has a high gas tax and toll roads along with extremely poorly maintained roads because we have arguably the most corrupt politicians in the country with the worst spending habits in the country. It's a pretty big mess with no end in sight.
  15. I definitely agree that a PSOne with attached LCD screen is beautiful. I have one sitting 20 inches from me on my work desk as I type this and I use it to this day to test PS1 games or any other time I'm playing PS1 outside of my primary setup.
  16. I don't have an issue with being able to pick up another player, but yes, there is no excuse for assigning it to the Y button when other buttons are available. Mario Odyssey has this same problem, but with the long jump. If you don't time your button presses correctly, you will stop and duck instead of long jumping which can get you killed.
  17. My son turned 7 today so I gave him the copy of 3D World that I bought at launch. He was able to play it for about an hour before his bedtime. He seemed to really enjoy it, which I expected. I'm really impressed with how well he can play these types of games now without my help. After he went to bed, I played through the first world. It's what I expected. It's fun and well done, but not super exciting either. I just prefer 2D Mario games. I will probably try to complete the game, but I bet I will have trouble playing through it quickly since I will need to take breaks by playing other games.
  18. Personally, I wasn't that impressed with the PS2 slim considering that most of the reduction was removing the empty space for the hard drive and moving the AC adapter outside of the console (of course that's just at first, they eventually moved it back in). EDIT: I want to clarify that I wasn't impressed with the size reduction for the reasons stated above. I think the styling of the PS2 slim looks good despite the fact that I still prefer the original.
  19. That's what I'm debating. I'm definitely ordering the game, but I'm trying to decide if I want to pay money for the extra stuff. I'm guessing that I probably won't.
  20. Tag wasn't working for some reason. But anyway, I'm looking for the PS4 version. Thanks though.
  21. This situation still wouldn't qualify as a reason to complain. LRG has stated from the very beginning that while they will never create a second print run of any game they publish, they will also NEVER prevent the developer from creating another print with different publisher. EVERY SINGLE PERSON buying a game from LRG knows that there may be another release from another publisher in the future, so they know the risk. One thing I will never lose sleep over is people buying games as investments and loosing their shirts over it.
  22. Meh. Some people just live to complain. They just can't be happy until they find fault in something.
