Nostalgia. I also find collecting/playing vintage games can be a good stress reliever. I try to only purchase game genres I like within each system. Platformers for the nes, and beatemups for the snes.
Sorry to hear about this. Sometimes sellers are willing to do unethical things for a quick buck. I once had a great buy on a BIN Dragon Fighter for the nes that the seller then claimed was stolen at the post office. The transaction was refunded but I was not allowed to leave feedback. It seemed very fishy to me, and I suspect someone backdoored me.
I guess it was about the condition of the games since most did not have pictures. It’s a shame because I had good luck with Amazon a few years ago on a CIB Swordmaster for the nes (dead mint but had no pictures), and a CIB Biker Mice From Mars for the SNES (good to very good range and again no pictures).
My 1st console was an SNES, but I always wanted an NES due to not having one growing up ( parents said it would ruin the tv). The NES got in me into collecting retro, so I would definitely have to say that it is my favorite era.
I agree about Dragon Fighter. Dragon Fighter could be a top 10 rarity on the nes. Dragon Fighter and Kid Klown took the longest for me to find when I was actively searching.
Excited to join a site dedicated to gaming! I am a big fan of NES, SNES, and Atarti Lynx (had an SNES and Lynx in my youth). Hope to gain as much knowledge as I can on these systems.
